VCCircle E-Commerce Forum 2011

The Indian e-commerce is getting into the execution/build-out phase in India. A lot of models have been funded for the first time, while many companies have raised multiples rounds of funding. Now the leaders in each of the segment are focused on executing their business plans, tweaking the business models to suit the Indian business environment, and fixing or finding innovative solutions for the critical aspects of e-commerce such as supply chain and logistics, payment processing, and finally the customer care.

The challenge for an entrepreneur is that e-commerce business is fast evolving and every quarter or two the entire business landscape is changing. The entrepreneurs and managers are faced with new realities and challenges in doing business. The investors on the other hand need to make sure every penny spent is worthwhile and are not wasted on something that is not crucial to building a viable e-commerce business.

In 2010-11, Indian e-commerce sector attracted an estimated $300 million if not more. That is a lot of money in the hands of entrepreneurs who have not been in a similar business before. There are several new categories that have sprung up in India such as retailing of consumer products, designer wear, baby products, jewellery, electronics, luxury brands & accessories, besides group buying and the good old travel & ticketing.

In order to capture the latest trends and under currents in the fast paced e-commerce business, VCCircle is back with its immensely successful E-commerce Forum for the second time this year. The forum will deliberate on key execution issues faced by entrepreneurs and investors, the emergence of an e-commerce ecosystem, and will also provide a platform for entrepreneurs from several new e-commerce categories.
