Sumita Dawra, Principal Secretary to Government - Transport, Roads and Buildings Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh

Ms. Sumita Dawra, a 1991 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer, is presently serving as the Principal Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh in Roads, Transport and Buildings Department. She previously served as the Principal Secretary of the Department of Higher Education in Andhra Pradesh, where she was instrumental in successful implementation of key Higher Education reforms in Andhra Pradesh, including impressive flow of private investments to the higher education sector, positioning AP Universities in International Rankings, establishing collaborations between AP State Universities and foreign Universities, and so on. Ms. Dawra formerly held the diplomatic position of Minister/Counsellor in the Embassy of India in Beijing, China, for three and a half years, from 2011-2014. She has also held other important administrative positions including (i) Director in Finance Ministry, Government of India, (ii) Managing Director of Urban Finance Infrastructure Development Corporation, Government of Andhra Pradesh, (iii) Collector and District Magistrate in naxalite effected Karimnagar District in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, among others. She has authored two significant books on public policy, (1) 'Poor But Spirited in Karimnagar: Field Notes of a Civil Servant,’ published by Harper Collins India, Oct 2012, a best seller that chronicles her experiences during her years in the IAS and her experience as Collector; and more recently, (2) a book on the Chinese economy titled, ‘China-Behind the Miracle,’ published by Bloomsbury, in Nov 2015, which chronicles the economic story of China and analyses the strengths and weaknesses of the Chinese economy. Both her books have been widely reviewed, and an international edition was also launched for her book ‘China – Behind the Miracle’.

Sundeep Malhotra, Founder & CEO, Homeshop 18

Sundeep Malhotra is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of HomeShop18, India’s first virtual retail enterprise from the Network18 group. He has successfully built the leading home shopping TV channel, largest e-commerce website and now the m-commerce business for Homeshop18. 

A veteran in the retail sector, Sundeep Malhotra conceptualized and established the home shopping industry in India, which today has become an accessible retail platform and credible retail avenue for shoppers and brands.  

Sundeep Malhotra has over 20 years of retail and FMCG experience. Prior to Homeshop18, he was the Executive Vice President Sales for PepsiCo India. Earlier to Pepsi, he had a 5 year stint with Benetton India, as their Head Sales & Marketing for the Indian subcontinent and a 10 year stint with Bata India Ltd, across various functions from Brand Management to Retail Head.

Mr. Malhotra has been a leading voice for the Indian retail industry. He is currently the Co-Chairman of FICCI’s Retail Committee. He has been recognized by numerous awards. He was most recently awarded “Retail Entrepreneur of the Year” at the Star Retailer Awards 2012. 

Sundeep Malhotra is an alumnus of the prestigious Delhi University. He earned his master’s from AIMA Delhi. 

Suneet Maheshwari, EVP- Corporate Affairs, L&T Financial Services

Mr. Maheshwari has over 33 years' experience in infrastructure financing, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity and in infrastructure and energy sector advisory. Before he took charge as Group Executive Vice President - Corporate Affairs, L&T Financial Services, he was the Managing Director & Chief Executive of L&T Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (L&T Infra Finance). He continues to guide L&T Infra Finance as well as other group companies as a member of the Board and other board sub-committees.

He has been closely involved with various infrastructure sector reforms and PPP initiatives since 1991. He has held several positions at industry bodies and government task force for promoting reforms in the infrastructure sector and financing. He is currently a Member of the National Council on Infrastructure at CII. An MBA from Symbiosis Institute, Pune and a Bachelor of Science from Mumbai University, Mr. Maheshwari has also trained in Strategy and Operations Management and Restructuring of FIs and Banks at Harvard Business School.

Sunil K Goyal currently runs YourNest Angel Fund, an early stage venture fund he conceptualized and founded in 2011. Prior to this Sunil has won recognition for playing instrumental roles in well-known business like Bharti Group & Dabur. As a leader he has actively led transformational change and is a strong proponent of positivity at work place. He has led organization and been in positions of importance as COO / CEO / Director at Airtel, Beetel & Airtel Africa.

Sunil is a former member of TiE, Indian Angel Network & Mumbai Angels. He has led investments in diverse sectors. His passion for early stage ventures has led him to invest in 9 start-ups on his own, before he set-up YourNest, which plans to invest in 10-12 start-ups over the next few months. Recently, Sunil got an exit from his first personal investment company ZipDial, which has been acquired by Twitter. He is qualified as a Financial Analyst, Business Economist, and Cost Accountant.

Sunil Gupta, President & COO, Netmagic Solutions

As the President & COO and Director on the Netmagic Board, Sunil Gupta is responsible for charting the course for all its services in the IDC and IT managed services space with specific focus on the profita­bility and operations of its datacenter business.

Sunil joined Netmagic in 2010, with the specific mandate of taking India’s leader in datacenter services into a higher growth trajectory. Netmagic’s turnover and customer base has increased three fold and its staff strength has increased from 210 to over 720, in the last 3 years. It has also become a leader in Cloud services and added large enterprise businesses to its client roster.

Sunil’s vast datacenter experience includes complete life cycle management of datacenter business including business planning, sales, business development, data centre construction and operationali­zation, customer service delivery and revenue assurance.

Prior to joining Netmagic, he spent 10 years at Reliance Communications where, as Senior Vice Presi­dent and Business Head of Data Center BU, he helped set-up and manage its IDC business.

Sunil has over 21 years of IT and Communication industry experience and prior to Netmagic and Reliance Communications, has held senior executive positions at Global Telecom Services, Iris Soft­ware and Angel Solutions.

Sunil has an Engineering degree with a specialization in Electronics and Telecommunications as well as an MBA in Marketing Management.

Sunil Jain, COO, Green Infra Limited

Sunil is the Chief Operating Officer of Green Infra. He has over 27 years of experience in the engineering industry, particularly in the auto and infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining Green Infra, he had a long career in various positions with Escorts Ltd., a reputed diversified business group. His last position was as Associate Vice President (Marketing, Exports and Sourcing) of Escorts’ Engineering Division. He has extensive experience in business development, both in the domestic and international markets, and in handling commercial negotiations with customers and vendors alike. He has been actively involved in strategy planning, collaborations and identifying new business opportunities.

Sunil is passionate about Green Energy. At Green Infra, he has been instrumental in developing and commissioning the company’s 24 MW wind farm in Tamil Nadu under a group captive concept. Under his leadership, Green Infra acquired a 100 MW portfolio of operating wind assets from the British multinational BP, taking its total generating capacity to 124 MW and establishing Green Infra as India’s leading renewable energy independent power producer (IPP).

Sunil is also the President, Northern Region Council and Member National Council of Indian Wind Power Association.

Sunil is a Mechanical Engineer from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi and holds an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University.
