Sumit Jalan, MD, Credit Suisse Asia Pacific

Sumit Jalan is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Asia Pacific Division, based in Mumbai. He is Co-Head of Investment Banking and Capital Markets, India.  

Mr. Jalan is responsible for Corporate Coverage, Origination and Execution for M&A, Equities and Financing in India. Mr. Jalan joined Credit Suisse in 2010 from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was responsible for origination in Equity Capital Markets. Prior to that, he worked at CLSA for over 5 years and with Goldman Sachs in London and New York.

Mr. Jalan holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India.

Sumit Khanna, Co Founder, ReaRCo Private Limited

Sumit Khanna is a turna, round and an M&A specialist who switched lanes to undertake entrepreneurship post a successful professional career spanning three decades.

He co-founded ReaRCo Private Limited, a unique platform to take over and turn around distressed real estate assets. ReaRCo is in the process of implementing Residential Real Estate Developments of 3.5 mn sqft and an 800 acre Tea Estate, pan India.

Currently, he is stetting up a vehicle for the acquisition of distressed assets other than in the real estate sector.

During his stint as a working professional, Sumit built and led the M&A and restructuring practices across one of India’s largest conglomerates, one of the largest global banks, a bulge bracket investment bank, and the two largest professional services firms in the world.

He has a diverse experience and has managed and led:

  • Restructuring of companies with a cumulative gross debt of over USD 50 bn (c. 5 lakh crores) 
  • Corporate Insolvency of over 25 companies across industries from Iron & Steel, Telecom, Real Estate, Cement, Pharma, etc 
  • Restructuring of debt outside of the IBC process and innovative recovery mechanisms for banks through sale of assets 
  • Closed over USD 25 bn worth of M&A deals 
  • Raised equity from capital markets worth more than USD 10 bn

Sumit Khanna, Partner & Head, Corporate Finance & Restructuring, Deloitte India

Sumit leads Deloitte’s Corporate Finance and Restructuring practice in India. He has led the India team supporting the Resolution Professional on several large insolvency engagements such as Bhushan Steel, Binani Cement, Lanco Infratech, Aircel Cellular, etc. and manages the overall operations of the corporate debtor and the sale of the business through eliciting of compliant Resolution Plans Sumit was part of the committee formed to develop regulation for Insolvency Process by Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He often shares his experience and insights on the topic of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, at various industry forums. He has a broad investment banking experience across sectors and of having led several large and successful M&A transactions as also Capital raises. Prior to joining Deloitte, he worked with PwC, Morgan Stanley and HSBC. Sumit has a Master’s degree in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Delhi.


Sumit Khosla, Partner, UK & France, India desk in Europe, Accuracy

Sumit started the Accuracy India office in 2012 and spend 3 years before he relocated to France. He currently works closely with India for all in bound and out bound cross border situations. He is connected to a large number of corporates across industries in Europe and UK.

Sumit started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopersin 1993 and worked in their Paris and Lodon offices within the Transaction Services department. He subsequently worked with the Kering Group, Paris (formerly PPR) as Head of Mergers and Acquisitions Amongst others, he played a pivotal role in the successful Puma takeover bid in 2007.

Sumit worked in India from 2008 starting with Mazars as Head of Corporate Finance in India, focusing on the promotion of Indo-European transactions. In 2011, he joined Accuracy.

Sumit has extensive experience in M&A both domestic and cross border advisory services, diligence,  valuations and dispute support work.


Sumit Nadgir, Director, India Value Fund Advisors Pvt. Ltd.

Sumit joined IVFA in 2016 and is based out of Mumbai. He is closely involved in supporting and building IVFA companies across different sectors including healthcare, consumer goods, agri and industrial services, etc. He is a Mechanical Engineer from Pune and has a Post Graduate Diploma from Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.

Prior to joining IVFA, Sumit was a Principal with Bain & Co. where he supported several domestic & multinational firms across sectors including industrial goods & services, textiles, chemicals, infrastructure, health care, consumer goods dealing with growth strategies, operational efficiency, cost reduction, organization effectiveness, etc. Before Bain, he helped set up an engine manufacturing plant for the Kirloskar Group and implement lean systems across their operations. Earlier, he worked with J&J Medical, where he managed the sales of cardiac.

He is closely involved in supporting and building TRUE NORTH companies across different sectors including healthcare, consumer goods, industrial services, etc. He is a Mechanical Engineer from Pune and has a Post Graduate Diploma from Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata. Sumit is a management graduate from IIM Bangalore with over 24 years IT Leadership experience in top multinational and consulting organizations in Asia. Sumit is currently working as Chief Information Officer for Max Healthcare leading enterprise digital strategy for Max network of 14 multi and superspeciality hospitals in India. He has a proven track record of successfully leading digital initiatives and process automation in various countries in Asia.

Sumit has won several industry awards for technology innovation in Asia Pacific region based on his team’s work primarily in India, Indonesia and Thailand markets.


Sumit Tayal, Director, Helix Investments Advisors India Pvt. Ltd.

Sumit leads the India team for Helix Investments, a private equity fund backed by the Cullman and Bloomingdale family offices. Helix invests $5-$15mm in asset light businesses across the consumer, healthcare, engineering and services sectors.
