Amit Dabas, Vice President, Guggenheim Partners

Amit Dabas is a Vice President at Guggenheim Partners, and takes a lead role in sourcing and evaluating secondary transactions and co-investments in India. He has more than 11 years of private equity, investment research and operational experience. Prior to joining Guggenheim, he was an equity research analyst at Thomas Weisel Partners covering Indian telecom, media and Internet stocks. Previously, he worked at Ericsson and Tata Consultancy Services, where he held various roles ranging from product management to technology consulting.
 
Amit graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and holds an M.B.A. (Director’s List) from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. He is a CFA charterholder.


Amit Dhingra, ED & Head Client Coverage, AnandRathi Investment Banking

An investment banker with 11 years of deal execution and corporate client coverage experience at Citi (Mumbai, Hong Kong), Kotak, Goldman Sachs (Mumbai, Hong Kong) and HSBC (Mumbai, London, Tokyo). His areas of expertise include M&A Advisory, Corporate Strategy, Equity and Debt Capital Markets fundraising for clients across industries such as Transport and Infrastructure, Metals and Mining, Automotive, (prior deal experience in FIG and Telecom as well).

Amit has originated and closed over 30 deals across M&A (buy-side and sell-side), equity capital markets offerings (IPO's, follow-ons etc.), bond offerings, private placements etc. in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong and Korea.

Amit is an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, B.A. (Hons.) Economics from Delhi University and a CFA Charterholder.


Amit Dixit, Head of Asia Private Equity, Blackstone

Amit Dixit is the Head of Asia for Blackstone Private Equity.  Since joining Blackstone in 2007, Mr. Dixit has been involved with various investments and investment opportunities in India and South Asia.  Previously, Mr. Dixit was a Principal at Warburg Pincus.  Mr. Dixit received an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MS in Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai where he was awarded the Director’s Silver Medal for graduating at the top of his program.  He currently serves as a Director of several companies including Mphasis, TaskUs, Aadhar, Essel Propack, Aakash Education, Sona Comstar, IBS Software, Jagran Prakashan, Mid-Day Infomedia, and Piramal Glass.  Mr. Dixit was previously a Director of Intelenet Global Services, Trans Maldivian Airways, Igarashi Motors India, S.H. Kelkar, and Emcure Pharmaceuticals.

Amit has broad experience in education in market opportunity and sizing, growth forecasting, investment prioritization, identification of best demonstrated practices, cost savings identification, pricing strategy, organizational structure and design and business plan development in K-12, Higher Education and Vocational Training segments.

Amit has worked across South-East Asia, Middle-East, China, India and the US and has led over 15 education sector due diligences for Parthenon in Asia, including all of Parthenon's due diligences in the Middle-East.

Amit has a bachelor's degree in engineering from Mumbai University and is a MBA from IIM-Bangalore.

Amit Goenka is the Founder MD & CEO of Nisus Finance, a premier alternative asset manager with AUM of INR 600 cr.  Amit was also the Founder, MD & CEO of Essel Finance, part of the USD 7 bn ZEE Group, managing financial services and real estate funds, both domestic and offshore.  Amit has held senior roles at Knight Frank across various verticals, including as CEO of a domestic rental yield fund. He has also served in senior capacities with Alghanim and Adeem Group in the Middle East besides Ernst & Young and Aditya Birla Group in India.

Amit is one of India’s foremost thought leaders on real estate, known for his views on the developments in affordable housing, taxation, regulatory, statutory and structural frameworks. He is dedicating his second fund corpus of about INR 500 crores towards main stream mid-income and affordable housing opportunities. He has chaired conferences in association with NAREDCO, PwC, FICCI, IMC and APREA on subjects like Banking, Private Equity, REITs, Union Budget, RERA etc.  Amit brings 20 years of top tier multinational experience in Banking, Direct Investments and Strategy and has been responsible for over USD 7 billion of transactions worldwide. Amit Gupta is Founder Director of S. Chand Harcourt (India) Pvt Ltd., S. Chand Edutech and Business Edge partnership with IFC, he has been instrumental in the group’s transformation to a ‘Knowledge Corporation’. A Mechanical Engineer by qualification with specialization in Operations. Amit brings 30 years of experience as a Business Head, Operations Head in joint ventures and transnational groups such as Tata, Birla’ and other leading companies. As an education industry thought leader, he chairs the Education Committee of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is a member of working group by MHRD on PPP for the 12th national plan under the planning commission and holds appointments in various education and business chambers and institutions. He has worked closely with international organizations such as IFC, USAID and GTZ etc. in the training industry. His solutions as Best Microsoft Partner in Egypt, Middle East, Africa and Eatern Europe have been showcased in first world IT summit in Geneva.

Amit Gupta is the Chief Operating Officer of Jupiter Capital, a leading Investment and Financial services firm headquartered in Bangalore with a current portfolio mix that includes Media & Entertainment, Hospitality & Wellness, Aerospace & Engineering services, E-learning, Automobile Technology & E-Commerce.

Prior to joining Jupiter Capital as its Chief Operating Officer, Amit had a stint at Nova Specialty Surgery as Director – Mergers & Acquisitions. Amit is now responsible for JC’s managed investments and there accelerated value creation. In addition, he focusses on identification of new opportunities and nurturing them as an investor representative.

At Jupiter Capital, Amit is the Chief Operating Officer driving accelerated value creation for its investment companies and identifying new investment opportunities across industries. Amit’s experience spans over 19+ years in the field of Finance, Transaction Advisory, M&A, Business Development & VC. His functional expertise includes financial and business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, accelerated value creation, monetization and dealing with diversified demographics.

At Ernst & Young, Amit was Director - Transaction Advisory services where he led large and complex assignments including the Bharti acquisition of Zain and Warid Telecom, Aegis acquisition of PeopleSupport, the i-gate acquisition of Patni, the and nearly 100 other transactions in the IT and ITES space.

In his earlier role as Vice President, GENPACT (GECIS), Amit donned many leadership roles in Finance and General Management with stints across Ireland, England and Australia. He played a critical role in many of GENPACT’s acquisitions and also the company’s NYSE listing in 2006/07. Amit led the setting up the controllership and finance functions for new regions / poles as the assistant global controller at GECIS.

Amit is a qualified CA, CPA from Denver, Colorado with an executive MBA from Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania. Outside of Jupiter, Amit is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys running and kick boxing. On the softer side he enjoys singing and cooking.


Amit Gupta, Partner, NewQuest, Hong Kong

Amit is a founding Partner of NewQuest and oversees the firm’s India and Southeast Asia business as well as investments in the power and financial services sectors. Amit has nearly 20 years of industry experience.

Prior to co-founding NewQuest, he was a Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s (BAML) Asia Private Equity group where he led the India business and oversaw investments the energy and financial services sectors across the Asia Pacific. Amit has also served in other roles in BAML, including Corporate Principal Investments based in Hong Kong and Investment Banking based in Mumbai.

Prior to working at BAML, Amit was a software engineer based in Mumbai and the United States. Amit has an MBA from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, where he was placed on the Director’s Merit List for his performance, and an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from REC Kurukshetra, where he received the University gold medal. Amit is fluent in English and Hindi.
