Amit Kapur, Managing Promoter, Vedatya Institute

Amit is the managing promoter of a services focused educational institute called Vedatya. Since establishing its new campus in the NCR, he is now helping drive the business development initiative and shaping the next phase of institute’s growth that includes understanding the application of artificial intelligence and human psychology towards human learning.

Before moving back to India in 2006, he complemented his electronics engineering background with a business focused work experience in US. As a chip designer in Intel’s first 64-bit microprocessor team in California, Amit was part of a team that established Intel’s next generation microprocessor architecture as an industry standard. He also had roles in marketing, business development and as an apprentice to a CEO of a mid-cap company during his career in the US.

Amit holds a Bachelor degree from Arizona State University and a Masters degree from University of Southern California, both in Electronics Engineering. He also holds an MBA from The Wharton School in Philadelphia.

Amit Kapur is a promoter of an institute called IIMT.
In this role as a promoter, Amit is helping drive the business development and marketing related activity at the institute, formulating and implementing growth plans including a new campus near Gurgaon and ensuring broad compliances.

 

Before moving back to India in 2006, he complemented his electronics engineering background with a business focused work experience in US. Broadly speaking, his experience includes working as a chip design engineer at Intel, California, a business development executive at a mid-cap semiconductor company in the bay area and as a Technical Assistant to the CEO in a company called SMSC in New York. In this last role in US, Amit lead broad based business issues to completion.

Amit is Managing Director of Asiabridge Capital since inception. Amit was also Chief Representative of Hana Bank in India from 2009 to 2013 and brings over 12 years experience having worked in New York, Hong Kong and India.

With strong domain expertise in Financial Services, Asiabridge invests in mid-size companies with high quality management teams. Investment expertise straddles financial services (including regional banking, consumer finance, housing finance, equipment leasing and capital markets) and consumer driven sectors such as IT enabled services (such as mobile banking, e-commerce / payment and loyalty platforms) and healthcare.

Previously, he established the India office for a global hedge fund in New Delhi covering private equity, real estate and special situations. Prior to that, he was with Actis Capital and was part of a team that was setting up the business of acquisition of distressed debt. With specialisation in financial institutions, he has worked in global investment banks JP Morgan Chase & Co and Fox-Pitt, Kelton in New York and Hong Kong.

Amit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (with honours) (B.A. (hons) Eco) from Delhi University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, Illinois, USA.

Amit Kumar Agarwal, Founder & CEO, NoBroker.com

Amit Kumar Agarwal is the Co-Founder & CEO of NoBroker.com. Amit founded NoBroker.com to revolutionize house hunting not just by eliminating brokerage but by making it convenient and hassle-free with the use of cutting edge technology and innovation.

He looks after overall vision and direction for the company. Out of 13 years of his total work experience, he spent 8 years in management consulting division of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in their Banking and Financial services vertical. In this period, he consulted top Indian and foreign banks for formulating their business strategy (entry & portfolio strategy) and enhanced their on-ground profitability (through large-scale pan-India implementation, impacting hundreds of branches). He led consulting teams, worked directly with CXOs , and won many accolades. This led him to head the strategy function in ANZ Bank reporting to India CEO. Here, he formulated India strategy and was instrumental in getting the bank, the very coveted two additional India branch licenses from RBI. Having won badminton championship in school, his passion is to play squash.

Amit is an alumnus from IIT-Kanpur and IIM- Ahmedabad.

A first generation entrepreneur, Amit set up his first Internet Technology Outsourcing company in 2001. Having experienced key technology and delivery roles in the internet space, Amit dived into telecom space and founded MaxMobility in 2004.

As an early player in the Consumer and Enterprise mobility space, he’s developed a rich network in the telecom industry and leads the strategic tie ups and new initiatives from the forefront – building MaxMobility from a garage start-up to a 100+ strong company.

Amit Lakhotia, VP-Payments, One97 & Paytm

Amit Lakhotia heads the payment business at Paytm and is building India's first consumer brand in payments. His vision is to build the most trusted payments platform in India. He has dabbled in entrepreneurship earlier in the cab space and was a part of the team that built MakeMyTrip prior to that.
