Ameera Shah, MD, Metropolis Healthcare Ltd.

For the last 20 years, Ms. Shah has focused on delivering sustained growth, built and led corporate functions, including finance, strategy, business process optimization, innovation, investor relations, etc. Under her leadership, Metropolis raised the bar of diagnostic accuracy, technological equipment, customer experience and research-driven, empathetic service. Ms. Shah has been responsible for corporatizing Metropolis by setting protocols, hiring expert professionals for the management team and bringing together a fully actualized board.

Named amongst ‘Asia’s Most Powerful Women in Business’ by Forbes Asia and ‘Fifty Most Powerful Women in Business’ by Fortune India, Ms. Shah is recognized as a global thought leader in the healthcare industry. She has also played an instrumental role in changing the pathology industry landscape in the country; from being a doctor-led practice to a professional corporate group in an extremely unregulated, competitive and fragmented market.

Ms. Shah received a degree in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and has also completed the prestigious Owner-President Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Ms Shah is also an active financial investor and business mentor. Passionate about the women leadership and empowerment, she has committed to supporting budding women entrepreneurs. This led her to set up Empoweress, a not-for-profit platform for women-led businesses to find advice, mentorship and micro-funding. Launched in 2017, the platform incubates more than 50 women-led businesses already.

An eminent industry spokesperson, she has been featured as a speaker in various National and International forums, industry events and conclaves organized by IIM, Harvard Business School, TedX, CII, FICCI, Twitter amongst others. She has also been elected the Secretary of the IAPL (Indian Association of Pathology Laboratories) and has served as the Chairperson of the ‘FICCI Health services Western Subgroup’ that drives policy decisions at the Center.

Ms. Shah is an independent director on the board of reputed Indian companies (Kaya, Torrent Pharma, Shoppers Stop) and is also an advisor to Baylor College of Medicine. She is also on the global advisory board of AXA, a Paris headquartered company with 700 Billion $ under asset management.

He started his career as a Medical Rep with Eli Lilly and was into Brand Management in Nicholas Piramal. In his 2 decade-plus career, data always excites him and the enormous opportunities to use data keeps driving him!


Ameet Desai, CEO, Adani Advisory

Ameet H. Desai is the Chief Executive Officer of Adani Advisory LLP which is the family office of the $ 5 billion Adani Group. He has over 25 years of experience developing infrastructure projects including ports, Special Economic Zones, logistics, power and city gas distribution. Previously he has worked as the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Adani Power Ltd. and Mundra Port & SEZ Ltd. He was also responsible for successfully raising almost $ 1 billion capital through the IPO route and $ 1.2 billion through private equity and QIP route. He has also mobilized debt of over $ 8.5 billion.

Prior to  Adani Group, he was Vice President (Mergers & Acquisitions and Business Planning) at Indian pharmaceutical major Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. and worked at Core Healthcare before that.

He is a Management Graduate and also lectures at Business Schools as a guest lecturer.

  • Amish is a Partner with the Valuation, Modeling & Economics team.
  • He joined EY in 2000 and is currently based in the  Mumbai, India office
  • From 2000 to 2003 Amish was part of transactions tax team in EY.
  • Amish is a Chartered Accountant from ICAI (2001) and Cost and Management Accountant from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (2002).
  • Amish’s has been involved in more than 400 valuation engagements
  • Amish works across sectors such as telecom, technology, automotive, chemicals, financial services.

Amishi Kapadia, Senior President & Global Head Merchant Banking, YES Securities

Amishi has over 22 years of experience in Capital Markets in India. She has successfully managed to raise equity for over 75 corporates in both private and public sector, mobilizing close to INR 1,400 billion. Prior to joining YES SECURITIES, she has worked with SBI Capital Markets, Kotak Mahindra Group, Bennett & Coleman & Co. and HDFC Bank. She holds a degree in International Finance & Business from SIPA, Columbia University, New York and an MBA from India.


Amit Lakhotia, GM - Payments, One97 Communications Ltd

Amit Lakhotia looks after payments and deals business of Paytm. After passing out of IIM Ahmedabad,  worked with MakeMyTrip for about four years to build their B2B business from scratch to an annual sales topline of about 500Cr. Post that he dabbled in his own venture in cab space.
