Amit Bhartiya, VP & MD Mobile, Komli Media

Amit spearheads Komli Mobile and is part of Komli’s leadership team since the last 5 years.

Before Komli:
Amit was Director at eBay India and co-founded their Motors division, heading India’s largest online used vehicle marketplace. He led the Business Development & Corporate Sales function at Baazee.com (prior to its acquisition by eBay in 2004). It’s been 15 years for Amit in the digital industry with experience that spans across advertising, marketing, ecommerce, automotive, lead generation, audience measurement and research and now Mobile.

Other Pursuits:
Amit is a food aficionado and also loves to explore and validate new business/start-up ideas. He is closely involved in an advisory role with some angel networks and pro-bono consults budding entrepreneurs, especially within the digital and hospitality domain. Amit loves playing sports and gets his share of badminton on the weekend.


Amit Bhatiani, Partner, CX Partners

Prior to founding CX Partners, Amit was a partner at Duma Capital since April 2006, a fund started by principals from Soros Fund Management and Duquesne Capital with ~US$400mn in capital. He managed the Global Equity portfolio including a significant allocation of capital to investments to India. Prior to Duma, Amit co-managed the distressed and event-driven portfolio at Clinton Group, which averaged US$600mn in allocated capital and approximately US$1.0bn in market value. Amit also co-founded 2 technology companies with funding from some of the well known investors in the world, including Ram Shriram, The Washington Post, Visa International and Fox Paine among others. Amit started his career at JP Morgan in fixed income technology and quantitative analysis.

 

Amit is a MBA (highest honors) from Columbia Business School and a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.


Amit C. Vaishnav, MD, Megafoods Products Madras (P) Limited

Amit Vaishnav is the Managing Director of Megafoods Products Madras (P) Limited. Incorporated in 1988, Megafoods; a specialty food company, is a Manufacturer and Exporter of innovative specialty food products.

Prior to Megafoods Amit was the MD of Teddy Marketing (P) Ltd for 9 years and Regional Manager for MIRC Electronics Ltd.

Amit is a Mechanical Engineer (B.E.) from the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda. He is a member of the I.I.E., a Chartered Engineer, a member of the Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (Mysore), an advisory committee member on food to the M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women, Chennai and an active Rotarian.


Amit Chander, Head of investments-Healthcare, Baring Private Equity Partners India

Amit is the Head - Healthcare & Pharma, IT/ITES & Education Investments at Baring Private Equity Partners India and handles investment opportunities and portfolio companies in these respective sectors. He is also a Director on the Board of Sphaera Pharma - an integrated drug discovery and development company. He has worked in financial and business advisory in the past with leading Indian and Multinational companies. As part of the business consulting team at Accenture in India, he has advised clients on leveraging IT for business effectiveness and assisted clients in all change management issues associated with a large technology implementation.

Prior to working with Accenture, he was with the world's fourth largest and India's most influential credit rating agency, CRISIL, where he was involved in advising private and public sector clients on divestments, financial reviews and operational benchmarking. He is a recipient of the Directors Silver Medal from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi where he graduated in Structural Engineering and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (MBA) from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. At Baring India Amit also leads the Corporate Communication & Public Relations initiatives of the firm.


Amit Chandra, Managing Director, Bain Capital Advisors | @BainCapital

Mr. Chandra joined Bain Capital as a Managing Director in early 2008, and is a part of the firm’s leadership team in Asia.  He is an engineer by training having received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from VJTI, Bombay University, post which he worked at India's leading engineering & construction firm, Larsen & Toubro. He then received his MBA from Boston College and was awarded the school's Distinguished Alumni in 2007.

Prior to joining Bain Capital, Mr. Chandra spent most of his professional career at DSP Merrill Lynch, a leading investment bank in India. At the firm, he had direct oversight of its Global Markets & Investment Banking business, which included the firm's substantial principal businesses. He retired from DSP Merrill Lynch in 2007 as its Board Member & Managing Director, to move to Private Equity.  

Mr. Chandra was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2007 and was named Next Generation Philanthropic Leader of the Year by Forbes in 2013.  He is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of Genpact, L&T Finance, Tata Investment Corporation and Emcure Pharmaceuticals, and recently retired from the Board of Piramal Enterprises. He is also active in India’s not for profit space and serves as a Trustee of two of the Tata Trusts –Navajbai Ratan Tata Trust & Jamshetji Tata Trust, Founder & Trustee of Ashoka University, and as a Trustee/Board Member of The Akanksha Foundation (providing education to less privileged children) and GiveIndia (India's leading philanthropic exchange).


Amit Dabas, Vice President, HQ Capital

Amit Dabas is a Vice President responsible for India and South East Asia PE manager research, secondaries and co-investments for HQ Capital, a leading global independent alternative investment manager with $11.4 billion AUM in private equity and real estate (3Q 2016). Previously, he was a Director with Creador; a Director with Guggenheim Partners; and held operating roles with Ericsson and Tata Consultancy Services. He holds an MBA from IIM Bangalore and a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi.


Amit Dabas, Vice President, Guggenheim Partners

Amit Dabas is a Vice President at Guggenheim Partners, and takes a lead role in sourcing and evaluating secondary transactions and co-investments in India. He has more than 11 years of private equity, investment research and operational experience. Prior to joining Guggenheim, he was an equity research analyst at Thomas Weisel Partners covering Indian telecom, media and Internet stocks. Previously, he worked at Ericsson and Tata Consultancy Services, where he held various roles ranging from product management to technology consulting.
 
Amit graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and holds an M.B.A. (Director’s List) from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. He is a CFA charterholder.


Amit Dhingra, ED & Head Client Coverage, AnandRathi Investment Banking

An investment banker with 11 years of deal execution and corporate client coverage experience at Citi (Mumbai, Hong Kong), Kotak, Goldman Sachs (Mumbai, Hong Kong) and HSBC (Mumbai, London, Tokyo). His areas of expertise include M&A Advisory, Corporate Strategy, Equity and Debt Capital Markets fundraising for clients across industries such as Transport and Infrastructure, Metals and Mining, Automotive, (prior deal experience in FIG and Telecom as well).

Amit has originated and closed over 30 deals across M&A (buy-side and sell-side), equity capital markets offerings (IPO's, follow-ons etc.), bond offerings, private placements etc. in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong and Korea.

Amit is an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, B.A. (Hons.) Economics from Delhi University and a CFA Charterholder.


Amit Dixit, Head of Asia Private Equity, Blackstone

Amit Dixit is the Head of Asia for Blackstone Private Equity.  Since joining Blackstone in 2007, Mr. Dixit has been involved with various investments and investment opportunities in India and South Asia.  Previously, Mr. Dixit was a Principal at Warburg Pincus.  Mr. Dixit received an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MS in Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai where he was awarded the Director’s Silver Medal for graduating at the top of his program.  He currently serves as a Director of several companies including Mphasis, TaskUs, Aadhar, Essel Propack, Aakash Education, Sona Comstar, IBS Software, Jagran Prakashan, Mid-Day Infomedia, and Piramal Glass.  Mr. Dixit was previously a Director of Intelenet Global Services, Trans Maldivian Airways, Igarashi Motors India, S.H. Kelkar, and Emcure Pharmaceuticals.


Amit Garga, Senior Principal, The Parthenon Group

Amit has broad experience in education in market opportunity and sizing, growth forecasting, investment prioritization, identification of best demonstrated practices, cost savings identification, pricing strategy, organizational structure and design and business plan development in K-12, Higher Education and Vocational Training segments.

Amit has worked across South-East Asia, Middle-East, China, India and the US and has led over 15 education sector due diligences for Parthenon in Asia, including all of Parthenon's due diligences in the Middle-East.

Amit has a bachelor's degree in engineering from Mumbai University and is a MBA from IIM-Bangalore.
