Aseem Mankodi, Partner, ICON Valuation
Aseem is a Partner, who founded ICON in 2011. Prior to ICON, Aseem was part of Deloitte India for 10 years, six of which were with the valuation team.
Aseem’s more than 11 years’ experience in valuations is extensive, having worked on over 600 valuation assignments for a variety of clients, for different purposes and submissions to various regulatory authorities – local and international. His varied industry experience covers, inter alia, sectors such as telecom, financial services, manufacturing, education, consumer business, insurance, healthcare & life sciences, technology, banking, infrastructure, media & entertainment, tourism, hospitality & leisure and energy & power. Aseem specializes in the valuation of intangible assets.
Aseem is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He has also completed his Certificate Course on Valuation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and his Master’s in Business Laws from National Law School of India, University, Bangalore.
Ashish Jejurkar, Partner, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas
Ashish Jejurkar is a partner in Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Mumbai office. He is part of General Corporate team with focus on Mergers & Acquisitions (including Public M&A), Private Equity, Regulatory and Restructuring. Ashish heads the Corporate Secretarial practice.
Ashish has received several accolades, the recent ones being Client Recommendation for his ability to find “Effective Solutions” by the RSG 2015 India Report and for being “Solution Oriented” by the RSG 2013 India Report. He has been recommended for M&A and Regulatory work.
Ashish has been actively involved in transaction and regulatory practice and advising blue chip companies, foreign and Indian, in variety of sectors with focus on pharmaceuticals, FMCG, real estate and manufacturing.
Ashish is also actively involved with the American Bar Association (ABA) in its various programmes and is presently the Vice-Chair of the India Committee of the ABA Section of International Law (ABA International). Ashish speaks regularly at conferences and client events and has authored several articles on legal issues.
Ashish completed his LLM from the University of Mumbai and the Solicitor’s exam conducted by the Bombay Incorporated Law Society.
Ashish R. McLaren, Director, Duff & Phelps Singapore Pte Ltd
Ashish is a Director providing M&A advisory services to his clients with regards their Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) transactions, Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) exercises, asset impairment reviews and other financial reporting valuations.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Ashish was with PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore for 8 and ½ years in their valuation practice and has advised leading corporates as well as private equity players in the M&A and reporting requirements. Previously, he has around 9 years of work experience in India having worked both in the telecom industry – Escotel Mobile (now Idea Cellular) and Bharti Airtel – as well as with M&A advisors – Lazard and Deloitte.
Ashish has worked on deals across borders as well as across varies industries including telecom, precision manufacturing, consumer & retail, food & beverage, healthcare, power generation and infrastructure. He has advised several companies including ST Telemedia, Singapore Airlines, Fraser & Neave, ST Engineering, Amtek Engineering, Qatar Telecom (now Ooredoo) in their M&A, IP valuation and financial reporting valuation requirements. He has also advised various private equity players such as Standard Chartered, CVC, KKR, Affinity Equity Partners, Blackstone, CMIA, Zana, Prudential in their financial reporting as well as portfolio valuation requirements.
Some of the key transactions he has advised on in the recent past include advisory for a leading south east Asian airline for potential acquisitions in the region, advisory for a leading conglomerate with regards divestment of its beverage business, advisory to a leading bank with regards divestment of its stake in an F&B and real estate conglomerate. He was previously involved in various successful M&A deals in India and Singapore which include sale of a medical aesthetics company (Singapore), Bharti Airtel’s acquisition of Spice Mobile Calcutta (India), and Baxter’s acquisition of Wockhardt’s IV fluid business (India).
Ashish is an Honors graduate in Physics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, India. He received his Post Graduate Diploma in Management (MBA) from Amity Business School, NOIDA, India.
Ashish Taneja, Co-founder, GrowX Ventures
Ashish is the co-founder of growx ventures, an early stage investment firm based out of Delhi. growx helps start-ups scale by investing time and money in the businesses, and typically works closely with the investee companies at a strategic and operational level. growx investments are focused on seed stage across a wide range of sectors with a keen focus on B2B ventures leveraging deep-tech to solve hard business problems. Ashish has led investments in a wide range of sectors including technology, financial services, tech-enabled marketplaces and renewable energy, and sits on the Board of multiple firms.
Prior to growx, Ashish was the Country Manager at Vertex in India, and was responsible for managing business growth and service delivery. Ashish was the part of the start team at Vertex, responsible for managing project transition and enterprise quality, scaled to 2,500+ strong organization, private equity backed (Oak Hill Capital, GenNx 360).
Before Vertex, Ashish spent few years in management consulting with Accenture/ Andersen consulting and led various assignments for leading Indian business groups covering strategy, business process reengineering, and large scale ERP implementations. Ashish is Chartered Accountant and have participated in the Executive Management Program at IIM – Ahmedabad
Ashoo Gupta, Partner, J. Sagar Associates
Ashoo practices in the areas of Corporate Commercial and Real Estate laws. She handles various matters related to foreign inward investment in securities lending and Real Estate sector.She has advised developers & investors in areas related to acquisition of property, construction and development projects, along with Real Estate documentation for multinational companies. Ashwath Rau, Partner, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas
Ashwath is a partner of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and a Deputy Practice Head of its General Corporate Practice (Mumbai Region). He is also part of the Firm’s Clients Committee and a former member of its Management Committee. Having joined the Firm in 1999 after graduating from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, he was inducted into the partnership in April 2006. He has handled complex cross border transactions (M&A, private equity and funds) involving innovative solution oriented structuring, interaction with regulators and a multidisciplinary approach to advice, taking into account and balancing commercial, legal, regulatory and tax considerations.

Aswath Damodaran, Professor, Stern School of Business at New York University
Aswath Damodaran is the Kerschner Family Chair Professor of Finance at the Stern School of Business at New York University. He teaches the corporate finance and valuation courses in the MBA program. He received his MBA and Ph.D from the University of California at Los Angeles. His research interests lie in valuation, portfolio management and applied corporate finance. He has published in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics and the Review of Financial Studies.
He has written four books on valuation (Damodaran on Valuation, Investment Valuation, The Dark Side of Valuation, The Little Book of Valuation), and two on corporate finance (Corporate Finance: Theory and Practice, Applied Corporate Finance: A User’s Manual). He has co-edited a book on investment management with Peter Bernstein (Investment Management), has a book on investment philosophies (Investment Philosophies) and one on “can’t miss” investment strategies, titled Investment Fables. He also has a book on the relationship between risk and value, Strategic Risk Taking, which takes a big picture view of how risk management affects value.
Aswath was a visiting lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1984 to 1986, where he received the Earl Cheit Outstanding Teaching Award in 1985. He has been at NYU since 1986, received the Stern School of Business Excellence in Teaching Award (awarded by the graduating class) in 1988, 1991, 1992, 1999, 2001, 2007 and 2008, and was the youngest winner of the University-wide Distinguished Teaching Award (in 1990). He was profiled in Business Week as one of the top twelve business school professors in the United States in 1994 and was elected as the most popular business school professor in the US by MBA students across the country in a 2011 survey by Business Week.
