Piyush Chaplot

Piyush Chaplot, General Partner, Innosight Ventures

Piyush is a partner at Innosight Ventures. While at Innosight he has led investments in Chope, TheLuxeNomad, Anafore (Referral Candy) and Anchanto, and is serving on their boards. Piyush’s own entrepreneurial background includes founding a cloud based software company called Smart Audit which provides an automated workflow solution for audit firms.

He is a Chartered Accountant and has more than 10 years of finance, commercial and operational experience in the Asia Pacific region with Ernst & Young (Singapore), Metcash Limited (Australia), HOPFL (Indonesia and UAE) and Tata Chemicals Ltd (India).


Piyush Mishra

Piyush Mishra, Partner , Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas

Piyush is a Partner at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. He is recognised as a leading lawyer in IFLR 1000 (Energy & Infrastructure, 2014). He is admitted to practice in India as well as England & Wales (Solicitor, Non-Practicing).  He has been involved in some of the leading Indian and European deals where he has acted for lenders, bidders and developers of power plants, national highways, airports and oil and gas projects. He regularly advises companies and leading financial institutions and investors on transactions. Piyush has various presentations and publications to his credit including the India Chapter in PLC’s Structured Finance & Securitisation Multijurisdictional Guide (2012) and articles in Project Finance International (May 2012 and June 2013) on issues relating to infrastructure.  He has also advised various committees and is a member of the FICCI Core Group on Insolvency.


Piyush Patnaik

Piyush Patnaik, Director, Duff & Phelps India

Piyush is a Director at Duff & Phelps India and is based out of Bangalore.

He joined Duff & Phelps in 2016. He has over 10 years of experience in business valuations, consulting, corporate finance, merger & acquisition support and venture capital/ private equity funding.

Piyush specializes in assisting clients with M&A related valuations, valuations in compliance with accounting standards and regulations, PE portfolio company valuations and corporate advisory services. He has undertaken valuations for corporate restructuring - assisting clients in strategic transactions related to investment, divestiture, merger, demerger; intangibles assets – brands, IP etc.; ESOPs; regulatory compliance; accounting and tax compliance; financial reporting - impairment testing, Purchase Price Allocations etc. under various GAAPs; and valuation of portfolio companies for private equity.

Prior to joining Duff and Phelps, Piyush has served as Associate Vice President at Grant Thornton and a technology consultant at Tata Consultancy Services. He has managed and executed a range of financial advisory engagements for IT, Retail, Manufacturing, Engineering, Power, Textiles, Cement, Consumer Goods, Media and E-commerce. Additionally, he has closely worked with private equity/venture capital players.

He has been a speaker at conferences organised by forums organized by various forums like VC Circle  on valuation, fund raise and M&A related topics. Piyush holds a Masters in Business Administration (Finance) degree from McGill University, Canada and a Bachelors degree in  Computer Engineering. He is MRICS and CEIV certified.


Pradeep Ratnam

Pradeep Ratnam, Director, IDFC

Pradeep Ratnam is a legal advisor to the Fund and is part of IDFC’s legal and compliance group. He brings with him nearly 10 years of transactional experience in the U.K., India and emerging markets in the areas of infrastructure and project finance, general bank finance, and restructuring. Pradeep has represented lenders, promoters and investors on road project financings in the U.K. and India, power projects, and PPP/PFI transactions in social infrastructure, schools and hospitals. He has also advised offshore lenders and funds on the regulatory and contractual aspects of structured investments in India.

Pradeep completed his B.A. LL.B (Hons) from National Law School, Bangalore followed by an LL.M. from the University of Warwick, U.K. He is qualified to practice law in India and the U.K.


Pramod Bhambani

Pramod Bhambani, Executive Vice President - Corporate Finance and Head of Financing for South Asia, Siemens

He has overall experience of 31 years in Treasury and forex markets. He is currently working in the capacity of Executive Vice president - Corporate Finance and Head of Financing for South Asia at Siemens since 2006. He is responsible for Governance and operations for Treasury, Trade, Insurance, Credit Management, Pensions and M&A for all entities in South Asia region. Also working as Director – Board of Bangalore International Airport Limited.

Previously (2000 – 2006) he was Head for structured finance (India) working for Siemens Financial Services Gmbh and was responsible for project acquisition and structuring advisory for projects in Telecom/ Energy/ Transportation and other infrastructure space in India and Middle East.

Head of Global Markets and Treasury for the bank in Vietnam (1998 – 2000) and prior to that(1991-1998) Head of Treasury & Global Markets for the bank’s New Delhi operations and Manager (India) for structured products.

1982- 1991 Indian bank. Joined as a Probationary Officer. Last position was that of chief dealer at the FX dealing room in Delhi for the bank.


Pramod Nair

Pramod Nair, Partner, J. Sagar Associates

Promod is admitted as both an Advocate in India and as a Solicitor Advocate with Higher Rights of Audience in England and Wales. He is a dispute resolution specialist, with extensive experience in commercial litigation and arbitration. He has appeared as Counsel and Advocate
(often as amicus curiae) in a broad range of commercial litigation and public law matters before the Supreme Court of India and the Karnataka, Bombay and New Delhi High Courts.
 
Promod sits as arbitrator in domestic and international arbitrations. He also has extensive experience in acting as counsel in commercial and investment treaty arbitrations, having conducted arbitrations in various jurisdictions in Europe and Asia, and under various institutional rules such as the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), London Court of Arbitration (LCIA), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
 
Promod is a Visiting Professor at the National Law School of India University where he teaches modules on commercial and investment treaty arbitration, and regularly lectures at law schools and universities in India and abroad. He is currently working on a commentary on the law and practice of arbitration in India. Promod holds degrees in law from the National Law School of India and was a DFID-Cambridge Scholar at the
University of Cambridge where he was a recipient of the Clive Parry (Overseas) Prize in International Law and the Pegasus Scholarship.
 
In May 2013, Promod was appointed as a Member of the LCIA Court


Pranav Gupta

Pranav Gupta, Vice President & Founding Member, Carpediem Capital Partners

Pranav has a decade of experience in private equity (PE) investments across consumer, healthcare, financial services, and real estate sectors in India.

He is a Vice President and a founding member at Carpediem Capital – an Indian private equity fund focused on the India consumption opportunity through investments in emerging category leaders. Carpediem supports each of the portfolio companies with capital and by identifying and driving a customized build and transform framework. Pranav has sourced and led multiple investments of USD 2-9 Mn within consumer sectors. He serves on the boards of portfolio companies, and actively collaborates with promoters and senior management to help devise and implement business and operational strategy, and co-build the company. His recent investment and portfolio management experiences are in consumer services, consumer products, and retail.

Previously, at FIRE Capital Fund - India’s 1st real estate private equity fund with USD 200 Mn in AUM, he has participated in investments and portfolio management across its two funds. Pranav has also mentored technology oriented startups in India and London, and at UK-based non-profit organization focusing on African NGOs. Pranav received an MBA degree with private equity concentration from the London Business School, including an exchange semester at the Wharton School focusing on entrepreneurship. He received a B.Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.

Pranjal Srivastava

Pranjal Srivastava, Ex - Senior Vice President and Head - Equity Capital Market, ICICI Securities Limited

With over 19 years of experience in the corporate finance and investment banking industry in India, Pranjal has experience in managing varied equity and debt products, including initial public offerings, follow on offerings, private placements, Qualified Institutional Placements, international offerings and also products such as Tender Offer, Buyback and Delisting Offer.

Pranjal has been instrumental in building the capital markets practice at ICICI Securities over the last six years. He has been actively involved in over 250 capital market transactions.

Pranjal is a graduate from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is a member of CFA Institute. He has served two stints at ICICI Securities – from July 2010 to date and November 1997 to August 2009. He spent around two years heading the London Office of ICICI Securities with responsibility of originating cross border merger & acquisition transactions.


Prashant Mehra

Prashant Mehra, Partner, Transaction Advisory Services, Grant Thornton India

Prashant's experience in Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) spans over 12 years, of which the two years have been with Grant Thornton, UK. After moving to TAS in Grant Thornton in 2002, his experience has been diverse, including viability reviews, financial due diligence in connection with acquisitions and fundraising, floatation and public company transactions.

Prashant focuses on buy-side and fundraising transactions for venture capital and private equity houses, banks and corporates. Prashant has led teams on all aspects of Transaction Services work including a number of cross border assignments. He has managed a wide variety of AIM (London Stock Exchange) transactions, including flotations, acquisitions, reversals and fund-raisings, as well as corporate and private equity backed transactions.

Prashant has extensive experience in acquisition, pre-sale and pre-lending due diligence, buy side assistance, deal and negotiation support, forecast assessment and evaluation and transaction project management. He has advised clients on business restructuring including business feasibility strategy, corporate structure and investment advice.
