Ashish is a strategy leader with over two decades of enriched experience in corporate finance (Acquisition/ Investment/ Divestment/Fund raise/ Structuring/ Negotiation).
He presently leads strategy function at National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) (one of the largest exchange in the world) as Group Head- Strategic investments. At NSE, he is responsible for overall growth of key businesses under the group including- Exchange platform, Clearing & settlement, Technology services, Data & Analytics, Indices, Ed-Tech, besides mutiple associate business interest in various exchange platforms (Power, Gas, Commodity and Receivables), Depository, e-Governance etc.
Prior to joining NSE, Ashish spent over decade and half in Investment banking and consulting roles at various prestigious organizations including PwC, Axis Capital, ICICI Securities etc.
As investment banker, he has advised the clients in numerous acquisition/fundraise/divestment transactions across various sectors including- Technology, Fin-Tech, Payments, Ed-tech, E-commerce, Analytics, Education, etc.
He is graduate in commerce from Symbiosis College, Pune and has studied Master in Business Administration (Finance major) from Dept. of Management Sciences, Pune University.
He has been regular speaker at M&A conferences and loves interacting on corporate finance matters.
He is a voracious reader and has avid interest in the areas of behavioral science, anthropology besides others.

Ashish Kumar Co-founder & General Partner Fundamentum Ashish is a Founding Member of Fundamentum Advisors, the Asset Management Company that manages Fundamentum Fund(s). He has been with Fundamentum since inception and leveraging his understanding of entrepreneurial journey, he has helped the fund build a high quality portfolio with two unicorns. Ashish has over 20 years of experience as a technologist, serial tech entrepreneur, angel investor and venture capitalist. He has multi-country exposure and has worked in varied sized companies, spanning three countries (USA, India and Singapore) and a multitude of industry segments. At Fundamentum, Ashish leads the fund raise and the investment process. He continues to lead the fund’s successful investment strategy of investing in start-ups with strong fundamentals, exceptional entrepreneurs and also spends time on identifying new investable areas and sectors for the Firm to invest into. He wants to help build businesses that have the potential to grow into behemoths. Ashish has screened over 500 deals at Fundamentum and has built a strong network within Indian start-up ecosystem. His board experience include Pharmeasy (Unicorn), Spinny (Unicorn), Fareye, TravelTriangle. He has been an active participant in business building of these companies and helped founders navigate inflection points while scaling business. With successful deployment of Fund I, delivering superior returns, Ashish has led the fund raise process for Fund II. The fund was oversubscribed and raised $227 MM. Prior to Fundamentum, Ashish used to invest his personal capital in small to mid-sized public market companies as well as promising technology start-ups in an Angel capacity. His Angel portfolio is at a 7X return currently. With his deep interest in all things digital, coupled with hands-on experience in business and finance, Ashish has founded several successful companies. As an Entrepreneur, Ashish co-founded 4 Technology / Technology-Assisted start-ups and raised money for 2 start-ups, while exiting from 2 start-ups profitably. The start-ups were of different models serving different markets – Enterprise / B2B and B2C. He became skilled at multiple stages of business - ideation, conceptualization, scaling and sustaining. As a Founder/CEO of global software services company, he grew it to a multi-million-dollar revenue organization worldwide. Ashish holds a degree in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur.

Mr. Ashish Kumar, Managing Director of PineBridge Asia Partners, leads the Private Equity practice for India for PineBridge Investments. Ashish has over 13 years of experience in Indian private equity, Ashish has the experience across economic cycles and stages of company evolution.
Ashish has served on the boards of companies spanning a wide range of sectors from manufacturing, business services, healthcare and infrastructure, some of them being Firepro Systems, Uniparts India Limited, Narayana Hrudyalaya, etc. During his private equity career, Ashish has the experience of investing across economic cycles.
Ashish started his career with investment banking team in Bank of America, which he was responsible for India technology sector coverage.
Ashish is an computer science engineer from IIT, Delhi and an MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad.

Ashish has nearly three decades of extensive experience in banking and insurance and has been with Max Bupa Health Insurance for the last 4 years.

Under Ashish’s leadership, Max Bupa has been building digital platforms to be able to ‘attract’, ‘connect’, ‘engage’, ‘fulfil’ and ‘deepen’ relationships with its customers. Under Ashish’s able guidance, Max Bupa became the first company to build digital platforms, and introduced several digital initiatives in order to improve customer experience at various touch points.

In his previous assignment at Citibank, Ashish played a pivotal role in enabling the bank to gain a leadership position in the wealth management business in India. Ashish started his career with Citibank and led several key portfolios in the company including Consumer Assets Head, Business Banking Head and Head for Mortgage Business. Under his leadership, Citibank entered into several productive strategic partnerships to complete the insurance product strategy and digitization of sales processes. He also reengineered ‘Citi at Work’ and emerging affluent segment businesses to attain higher profitability and operating efficiency. Under his leadership, Citibank was awarded the Best Retail Foreign Bank by Dun & Bradstreet in 2013 and 2014. He also led the creation of a unique distribution architecture for consumer banking that was adapted by Asian and Middle East and recognized by ‘The Asian Banker’.

Ashish oversees the product strategy and business development at Sokrati. He brings over 8 years of digital marketing and product development experience to Sokrati. He was earlier part of the paid search marketing team at Amazon.com where he managed channels like comparison shopping, search and affiliate networks. Ashish was also involved in product strategy, P&L for traffic acquired for various Amazon product categories, and partnership / negotiations with top affiliates like Google, Yahoo, Shopping.com. Prior to his Amazon stint, he worked at the marketing and acquisitions department at Capital One, overseeing SuperPrime credit card portfolio. He earned a Masters from Carnegie Mellon University (batch of 2003) and a Bachelors from University of Mumbai, India.

Ashish Chandak is the President - Corporate Finance, at YES BANK. In this leadership role, Ashish focuses on Urban Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Mining / Natural Resources sectors. His role includes business development, deal origination; ensuring successful deal execution and client relationship penetration with team development and management. He is also driving key knowledge initiatives on increasing YES BANK’s visibility in the financial, infrastructure and industrial sectors, while pursuing growth opportunities for YES BANK.
Prior to joining YES BANK he was with ICICI Venture as Director-Investments. He has over 19 years of investment banking and project financing experience, working on projects across several infrastructure sectors.
Ashish started his project financing career with L&T Finance Ltd., where he provided advisory and debt syndication support to several mid to large sized Infrastructure projects being undertaken by L&T on PPP basis. Subsequently, Ashish joined IDFC Ltd where he successfully handled various assignments in Risk Management and Project Financing groups, covering a variety of sectors including Energy, Telecom, Transport, Tourism, Healthcare & Education. He was also responsible for Business Development and Project Financing transactions in Industrial & Commercial Infrastructure space, wherein he played key role in executing several mandates in Commercial Realty, Urban Infrastructure, Tourism, Education, IT Parks and SEZs.
He is an avid trainer, and engages in providing training to various corporates on Project Financing with specific emphasis on Infrastructure Projects. He graduated in Electronics Engineering and received an MBA, securing a 1st Rank and Gold Medal in both.

Prior to joining InnoVen, Ashish served as the President & CEO of GE Capital, India, where his responsibilities included oversight of GE Capital’s activities in India, through its 100% owned Finance Companies (NBFC’s) as well as Credit Card JV’s (“SBI Cards”), a leading Credit Card player in the Indian market.
Ashish was associated with GE/GE Capital for ~20 years and held progressive leadership roles across General management, P&L Leader, Strategy, M&A and Corporate Finance. He has extensive global experience and had the opportunity to work across India, US, Japan, Australia & Europe.
Ashish has extensive governance experience and has served on boards of several Finance Companies and Joint Ventures. Ashish has also served on various industry bodies such as CII National Banking Committee, CII National Committee on NBFC’s and CII National Committee on Financial Inclusion & Digitization.
