Anup Gupta, Managing Director, Nexus Venture Partners

Anup is an entrepreneurial leader.

Before joining Nexus, Anup was the Group Chief Operating Officer at WNS, a leading global IT Enabled Services (ITES) company with revenue of more than $300 million, where he was responsible for global operations comprising over 20,000 employees across 7 countries. In his 8 year tenure, Anup played a key role in transforming WNS from an early stage company into a top tier global business which witnessed rapid growth and listed on the NYSE.

Previously, Anup was a Principal with eVentures India, a pioneer in the venture capital sector in India. At eVentures, he focused on developing services and consumer start-ups many of which have become market leading companies, such as CustomerAsset (acquired by Firstsource), Makemytrip (sale to SAIF partners) and Netmagic, along with Sandeep Singhal, a co-founder of Nexus. Prior to eVentures, Anup was a Management Consultant at Booz & Company, where he worked with a several industrial companies in India.

Anup graduated at the top of his classes from both IIM, Calcutta and IIT Kharagpur.

Anup Kumar Agarwal, Senior Investment Officer, International Finance Corporation

Mr. Anup Kumar Agarwal, Senior Investment Officer in IFC, leads investments (both equity and debt) in the financial sector in South Asia. During the last six years in IFC, he has led investments across the financial services space in India, including bank, NBFCs, microfinance, housing finance, broking, PE/VC fund, etc. Prior to joining IFC, Anup worked as Group Head - Credit and Deputy General Manager in ICICI Bank (one of India's largest private sector banks) and as Assistant General Manager with ICRA Limited (a leading credit rating agency of India and an associate of Moody's Investors Service). Anup is a Chartered Accountant (Rank Holder), additionally qualified as a CFA, ICWA, and CS with over 17 years of experience in equity investing, lending, portfolio management, credit rating, and consulting.

He has rich techno-commercial experience – an excellent grasp of technology and commercial backed by vendor management skills. He has diverse experience with emphasis on key Leadership, Innovation in Digital Banking, Financials, Service Delivery, Portfolio & Program Management, Risk & Controls, Vendor Management and Waste Cutting.

At YES Bank, Anup leads the mission critical role of spearheading Technology Replatforming & Digital Innovation. His primary focus is to bring future technology into YES BANK’s current technology stack. As Chief Information Officer, he drives innovation and developing an IT strategy in accordance with the Business Strategy of the Bank to provide edge to his business in market. Anupam Goenka, MD - Credit, Baring Private Equity Asia

Mr. Goenka is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from Xavier Institute of Management, India. He has over 15 years of experience across proprietary investments, structured finance, investment banking and consulting. Immediately prior to joining BPEA, Mr. Goenka spent two years as Head of Underwriting at Religare Credit Advisors Limited, domestic fund investing in Structured Private Debt in India.

Prior to this, he was with Religare Finvest Limited where he oversaw the structuring and underwriting functions for various mid-market corporates across a variety of sectors. He also worked with Deutsche Bank for 5 years in proprietary real estate investments, and within the global credit trading team focusing on transactions for mid and large corporates. He has also worked with JP Morgan in their Investment Banking team in Mumbai for 3 years where he worked on several capital market transactions across sectors.

Anupam Rastogi, Principal, Nokia Growth Partners

Anupam is a Principal at Nokia Growth Partners (NGP), a global growth stage VC firm focused on mobility, Internet and the connected world. He has over 15 years of operating, product and investing experience in mobile, Internet, technology and media industries. Having lived and worked in the US, India and Europe, he brings global experience to NGP and NGP’s portfolio companies.

At NGP, Anupam spearheads thematic investing in the Local Commerce space, and has been associated with investments such as Vizury, YPlan, Techprocess, Quikr, FashionAndYou, Netmagic, Gigwalk and others. Prior to NGP, Anupam spent several years at Winphoria/Motorola and Verizon in product leadership roles, where he helped bring multiple innovative Internet and telecom convergence products to market. Anupam has co-authored 6 international patents and publications in wireless and embedded systems domains. Anupam holds an MBA from The Wharton School, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from IIT Delhi, and studied Innovation at MIT as an Advanced Study Fellow.

Anupam Thareja, Managing Director, Phi Capital

Mr. Anupam Thareja is a Founder of PHI Advisors, an operational turnaround private equity fund. He has over 15 years of experience in both financial and corporate world. He has been a top ranked analyst at Asian and global levels in Automobiles, telecom and technology in firms like ABN, HSBC and CSFB. He concluded his financial world stint as Director and Head of Research and then by being on the board and taking responsibility of overall operations and heading institutional and retail sales, trading, equity and equity derivatives for HSBC.

He then ventured in the corporate world as a quasi-entrepreneur / private equity by taking management responsibility of Royal Enfield.  Taking on operational roles, he built a new management team with top professionals and turned around operations.

Currently apart from running PHI Advisors, he is also a director of TVS Finance, Mahindra First Choice Wheels, Services and also Mahindra United Football Club.   He is on the Advisory board of TVS Motors and Sundaram Clayton Ltd. He has investments and works in various capacities with TVS group, Mahindra, Reliance ADAG and R K Forgings.

Anupam Verma is one of the veterans in the field of healthcare delivery business in India with over 25 years of experience in the domain. Consequently, he has developed an expertise for a broad spectrum of areas, from micro elements of functional process management, to macro issues of creating and managing businesses including Mergers, acquisitions and exits. A Management Graduate by education, and a firm believer in out-of-the-box thinking, he has to his credit several radical and innovative concepts, which have shaped the way the healthcare delivered in the country. He is one of the pioneers in  Healthcare professionals  to have explored the space of Venture Capital and Private Equity for Hospitals. Currently he manages  the countrywide business of Wockhardt Hospitals Ltd., as its President  since 2013. Prior to this he was the founder CEO of DM Healthcare (Aster) in India for 6 years, and Director of Operations at Hinduja Hospital, and CEO at Hinduja Healthcare in Mumbai for 11 years.

Anupama is National Chairman of CII – Yi (CII – Young Indians); Member of the CII National Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Council; Member of the CII International Policy Council and CII WTO and Trade Agreements Committee; Managing Director of The Hatch Fund; Co-founder of The Hatch Incubators; Co-founder of Angel Investors Consortium; and, Board Member of Athena Foundation – an international organization focused on women leadership

Anupama is Aspen Fellow under the India Leadership Initiative;  the recipient of the Athena India Leadership Award; Rotary International Young Achievers Award; “Award for Excellence - Women Entrepreneur” by Software Technology Parks of India, Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India; and “All India Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur for the year Award” by the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council, Ministry of Information and Technology, Government of India.

As an entrepreneur she founded and led 3 companies in India and Silicon Valley.  Before starting on the entrepreneurial career, Anupama led many Software Development and Architecture initiatives at Lucent Technologies and Synoptics / Bay Networks.

Widely traveled, Anupama has spoken at a number of industry events, symposium and standard body meetings worldwide.  Anupama has been profiled in a number of media articles and has been featured on CNBC “Young Turks” program.

Anupama has taught topics on advanced communication technologies at UC Berkeley and San Jose State Universities.  Anupama has a Bachelor in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a M.S. in Computer Science.
