Pravan Malhotra, Founder, Malacca Ventures


Pravan Malhotra, Head - Internet Investments, Asia, International Finance Corporation

Pravan leads cleantech private equity investments in South Asia for the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group. IFC's cleantech investments in India include Azure Power, Applied Solar Technologies, Husk Power Systems and Attero Recycling. Prior to joining IFC, Pravan was a Principal with ORIX Venture Finance in New York and was responsible for investments in venture-backed technology companies.

Pravan has also worked with Metropolitan Venture Partners, a transatlantic venture capital fund in New York, and Global Bridge Ventures, an emerging markets focused venture capital fund in San Francisco. Earlier in his career, Pravan was an investment banker at BMO Nesbitt Burns and a credit analyst at the Tokai Bank in Chicago. Pravan holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.


Praveen Chakravarty, SEBI Committee on Primary Markets & Board Advisor, TVS Capital

Praveen Chakravarty is the ex-CEO of an investment bank, a 2012 Eisenhower Fellow, founding trustee of India's first data journalism initiative IndiaSpend and board member of Centre for Civil Society, India's highest ranked thinktank globally. He is a regular oped contributor on politics and policy for the Business Standard and Mint.


Praveen Dhabhai, COO, Payworld India

Praveen can be best characterized by his penchant for technological innovations which can be very much witnessed with Payworld’s service and delivery mechanism. More than 23 years of experience in Information Technology and Payment industry has translated him into a professional who can be credited for any technological evolution aiding to the growth and development of the business.

Praveen also carries varied level of exposure in channel development, tie ups with service providers  and implementing various business models for electronic distribution and Payment Systems. His business acumen has helped Payworld to spread across the country in short span of time. In coming years, Praveen’s endeavors would be instrumental in taking Payworld to every nook and corner of the country and even beyond frontiers to a far-off terrain.

An engineering graduate from BITS Pilani, Praveen is instrumental in establishing “ Smart Paisa” a RBI approved PPI which has  recently applied for a Payment Bank License.


Praveen Singh, Dy. General Manager, SBI Cards

Praveen Kumar Singh has over 29 years of experience in the Banking Industry. He has handled diverse portfolios during his assignments in State Bank of India including Retail Banking, Branch operations, Credit processing and management, Technology, International Banking and Payments. He has more than 10 years of experience in Payment Industry across domestic and international geographies.

He has been deeply involved in conceptualizing, designing, building, operationalizing and managing various processes leading to improvement of efficiency and customer centricity in the Bank. He has played leadership roles in developing payments strategies for the Bank and designing new payment products such as Contactless Cards, Combo Cards, Transit Cards, Mobile Wallet, etc. for the customers. He brings strong collaborative skills and project conceptualization as well execution skills.

He is a graduate with B.Sc. (Hons.) in Math with distinction and has also completed both parts of CAIIB. He has been awarded By IIB for his outstanding achievements. He is Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and has also completed MBA (Finance) from IMT, Ghaziabad. He is also a certificate holder in Treasury and Forex Management (TFM) from ICFAI.

Praveen Sinha, ?Co-founder & MD, Jabong

Praveen Sinha has played a fundamental role in establishing Jabong.com as a brand. In his current role at Jabong.com, he is a Co- Founder and a Managing Director of the company. Praveen’s role encompasses looking after the entire Operations capability along with Supply chain management.  Praveen is an accomplished management consultant and executive with his association / work experience ranging from industry leaders like Mckinsey, Microsoft and MarutiUdyog to diverse small businesses/startups. He is a successful turn-around specialist, specializing in not only strategizing but also implementation, improving operations, and building management systems and process. An alumnus of the reputed Delhi College of Engineering and Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Praveen brings to the table vast corporate experience with an uncanny knack to build a business from scratch. 

Besides this, he also acted as an energy advisory and auditor for plants in China, Thailand, Taiwan and India across sectors - cement, steel and power plants.

Building a business from scratch and taking it to the peak of success is a passion with Praveen and before Jabong.com, and he has proved that as part of office mobile release team for Microsoft, for US based startup Akeebo and consumer durable startup AquaBrim.

Praveen has always been fascinated with the growing e-commerce concept in varied sectors. One of the driving forces behind the formation of Jabong.com was Praveen’s sheer passion and interest in the e-retailing sector and its growth potential.

Praveena Rai, Chief Operating Officer, NPCI

Ms. Praveena Rai is Chief Operating Officer of NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India). She is responsible for running the business, the products, the operational and technical delivery. Passionate about payments and technology as drivers to economic value, she helps NPCI attain it’s strategic objectives of offering simple, secure and seamless digital payments experience to consumers and users across the ecosystem - that can lead to rapid digitalisation of India.

During her professional journey of two and half decades, she has built expertise across banking verticals in Cards, Retail, Commercial Banking and various facets of the payments space.

She has worked with Kotak Mahindra Bank leading the cash management portfolio, with HSBC for a 10 year stint including heading payments for the bank’s Asia Pacific region, and with Citigroup across roles for South Asia.

Ms. Rai holds a PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad, and is an Engineering Graduate from College of Engineering, Guindy.

Praveer Roy, COO, Loylty Rewardz

Praveer is the Chief Operating Officer of Loylty Rewardz Mngt Pvt Ltd. Praveer holds the responsibility of driving forward a substantial part of Loylty Rewardz, mainly focused on delivering value to our customer and partner organizations. It is also Praveer’s focus area to constantly prepare the organization to achieve our tomorrow’s goals. Towards this, Praveer manages our critical functions such as technology, business architecture, operations, mobile, analytics, marketing and partner relationship management. Praveer has played a critical role in the growth of Loylty Rewardz from its inception days when Praveer was a member of our Business Advisory Board before taking on the full time role as the COO.

Praveer is a member of the Founding Class of the Indian School of Business and a CPA from the United States. Praveer is also a Chartered Accountant and has previously worked with the leading global organization such as Capgemini, Sumitomo, Deloitte, etc. in different geographies including in India, Middle East, Europe and in the US. While at Capgemini, Praveer was instrumental in building their SEPA (Single Europe Payments Area) Payments Practice based out of The Netherlands. Praveer was also a key contributor to some of Capgemini’s large global deals in financial services and consumer goods verticals such as the Royal Bank of Scotland, IKEA in Sweden and Coca Cola in the US.

A published author of the literary fiction Alternate Journeys, Praveer is also a voracious reader, an amateur philosopher, an ardent traveller and an adventure enthusiast.


Pravin Gandhi, Managing Partner, SEED FUND

Pravin Gandhi is a Managing Partner in SEED FUND, an early stage fund launched in 2006. He is also a Managing Partner of Infinity Venture Fund, an early stage fund launched in year 1999-2000. With operational & management experience spanning 30 odd years, he was one of the early IT entrepreneur having promoted Hinditron in 1972 and a successful IPO in 1988.

He has been an angel investor in various IT Companies since with several Board Directorship in listed and unlisted companies including significant Shareholder & Director of Schiller Healthcare.

Mr. Gandhi is a graduate in Industrial Engineering from Cornell.
