Merger and acquisition (M&A) activity in India has begun on a huge note this year with deals worth $4.09 billion already being concluded on the back of big-ticket transactions.  If trends are to be seen, merger and acquisition deals have taken place across various verticals and business platforms in India. Sectors like finance, pharmaceuticals, telecom, FMCG, industrial development, automotive and metals have seen increased activity in recent times as number of big Indian companies are looking to explore their growth potential in the international markets. At the same time a number of international companies are also targeting Indian companies to make foray into Indian market as part of their targets for growth and expansion. Besides this, a whole new class of technology entrepreneurs have been fueling the numbers on domestic M&A side by choosing to grow inorganically, making India as the hot bed for M&A transactions in recent times.
