Zia Mody

Ms. Zia Mody is the Founder and Senior Partner of AZB & Partners and one of India’s foremost corporate attorneys. She passed her law degree from the University of Cambridge in 1978 and was enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa in 1978. She did her LLM from Harvard Law School and was then admitted as a member of the New York State Bar by examination in 1980. Ms. Mody worked as a corporate associate at Baker & McKenzie, New York, for five years before moving to India to set up practice, establishing the Chambers of Zia Mody in 1984, which then became AZB & Partners in 2004. Ms. Mody’s abilities are recognized globally, as is reflected in her appointment as the Deputy Chairman and a Non-Executive Director of the HSBC Asia Pacific Board, a member of the World Bank Administrative Tribunal, Washington D.C. (2008-2013), and a Vice President and Member of the London Court of International Arbitration (2010-2013). She serves on various advisory committees of the Confederation of Indian Industry including its National Council and its committees on Corporate Governance, Financial Services, Capital Markets and Legal Services. She was nominated to be part of the “Committee on Rationalisation of Investment Routes and Monitoring of Foreign Portfolio Investments” formed by the Securities and Exchange Board of India under the chairmanship of Shri K.M. Chandrashekar. Ms. Mody was also appointed by the Reserve Bank of India in 2014 as a member of Committee on Comprehensive Financial Services for Small Businesses and Low-Income Households which was chaired by Dr. Nachiket Mor. Ms. Zia Mody has been the recipient of several awards and accolades.

Renuka Ramnath

Renuka has spent over two and half decades in the Indian financial sector across private equity, investment banking and structured finance. As one of the early private equity investors in India, she played a pivotal role in shaping the market both in terms of leading pioneering investments such as buy-outs as well as opening new pockets of capital for investment in Indian private equity. In her last role as the MD & CEO of ICICI Venture for close to a decade, she has contributed in many ways to the evolution of that firm to one of the largest private equity funds in India.

Renuka brings on board her deep experience of raising, investing and returning third party capital across several economic cycles. She looks to build Multiples as a platform to channelise long-term capital to create valuable enterprises and successful entrepreneurs. She draws motivation from the fact that supporting entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses has the potential to generate employment, to create ripple effects in the Indian economy and to facilitate the greater process of nation building.

Manish Kejriwal

Prior to co-founding Kedaara Capital Advisors, Manish served as a Senior Managing Director of Temasek Holdings, where he founded their India office in early 2004 and headed all of their investments and other activities in India. He also held multiple responsibilities in Temasek Singapore. He was a core member of its senior leadership team and a key member of Temasek Holding’s Senior Management Committee (SMC), and it’s Senior Investment & Divestment Committee (SIDC). Prashant Purker

Amit Dixit

Amit Dixit is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Private Equity in India, based in Mumbai. Since joining Blackstone in 2007, Dixit has been involved with various investments and investment opportunities in India and South Asia. Previously, Dixit was a Principal at Warburg Pincus. Dixit received an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MS in Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai where he was awarded the Director’s Silver Medal for graduating at the top of his program. He currently serves as a Director of Mphasis, Intelenet Global Services, IBS Software Pte Ltd, S.H. Kelkar, Jagran Prakashan, Mid-Day Infomedia and HPPPL. Hemant G. Contractor

Shri. Hemant G. Contractor is the first Chairman to head the statutory Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) after notification of PFRDA Act in 2014. He joined PFRDA on 7th October 2014.

Prior to joining PFRDA he was a career banker, joining State Bank of India (SBI) as Probationary Officer in 1974. During his illustrious career spanning 40 years in SBI, he served in several important positions including Group Executive of International Banking, Group Executive of Corporate Banking, and Chief Financial Officer and rising to be the Managing Director of State Bank of India.

He has also served on the Board of several organisations such as State Bank of India, National Security Depository Limited (NSDL), Nuclear Power Corporation of India. He is a qualified Chartered Banker (ACIB) from Chartered Institute of Bankers, London.

Vishal Mahadevia

Vishal Mahadevia joined Warburg Pincus in 2006 and is a member of the firm’s Executive Management Group. He supports firm’s fund raising initiatives out of New York and also oversees firm’s activities in India. Previously, he was a Principal at Greenbriar Equity Group, a fund focused on private equity investments in the transportation sector. Prior to that, Mr. Mahadevia worked at Three Cities Research, a New York-based private equity fund, and as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. He is a Director of Biba Apparels, Capital First, Ecom Express, Gangavaram Port, IMC Limited ,Kaylan Jewellers , Stellar Value Chain and PVR Limited. Koushik Chatterjee

Chatterjee was appointed Group Executive Director (Finance & Corporate) in September 2013 and had an overall responsibility for Group Finance and Corporate Function which amongst others included, Financial Performance & Reporting, Mergers & Acquisitions, Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Legal & Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Strategic Procurement, Financial Planning, Information Technology, Group Investment & Portfolio Management, Insurance & Board Governance. In February 2016, Chatterjee was appointed as Tata Steel’s Executive Director for Europe in addition to his current responsibilities and was re-designated as Group Executive Director (Finance, Corporate & Europe). Chatterjee has been re-appointed as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer with effect from November 9, 2017.

In the last 14 years, he has enabled Tata Steel to ride out of unprecedented challenges following the global financial crisis and led the Company to raise over US$60 billion of gross capital funding. He provided leadership and hands on experience in developing M&A strategy, transaction planning, structuring and execution planning for acquisitions with transactions value aggregating to more than US $15 billion in India, Europe, Canada, Africa, Thailand, Singapore and Australia. He also steered the Company in developing a structured divestment strategy with multiple portfolio exits aggregating to over US $3 billion.

Koushik Chatterjee is an Honours Graduate in Commerce from Calcutta University and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Chatterjee joined Tata Steel in 1995 and was appointed Vice President (Finance) in 2004. During his tenure, Chatterjee led the first overseas acquisition of a steel manufacturer by the Company – NatSteel Asia and subsequently led the acquisition of 1.7 MnTPA Millennium Steel (now Tata Steel Thailand) in Thailand. In 2006-07, he played a critical role in the acquisition of Corus Group Plc.

Arpan Sheth

Arpan Sheth is a partner in Bain & Company. He leads Bain’s Asia Pacific Information Technology and Digital practice as well as Bain India’s Private Equity practice. Arpan has been a part of the leadership team in Bain’s New York, Sydney and India offices over his career at Bain. He serves as office head for the firm’s Bengaluru office.

Arpan has nearly 25 years of consulting experience in the IT industry working with both CIOs and providers of enterprise technology products and services. Arpan has led large-scale transformation efforts in the IT organizations of leading companies across financial services, technology and telecommunications. He has also led strategy and customer-focused engagements with leading tech and IT enterprises across the US and India as well as focused-growth efforts with providers of enterprise software and hardware.

Prior to joining Bain in 2003, Arpan was a vice president of a systems integrator where he led large-scale SI programs. He was also a manager in the Strategic Information Technology practice of A.T. Kearney, where he focused on IT strategy and business technology issues in financial services.

Krishnava Dutt

Krishnava started his legal career at Calcutta High Court. After a short stint at the high court, he joined ICICI Bank in Mumbai where he gained several years of experience in handling transactions involving stressed assets and the international banking sector. He joined Amarchand Mangaldas in 2005 and was made partner in 2007. He retired from Amarchand Mangaldas in June 2009.

Promeet Ghosh

Promeet Ghosh joined Temasek in 2012 and is currently Managing Director, India, at Temasek Holdings Advisors India Pvt. Ltd.

Prior to Temasek, Promeet spent 20 years as an investment banker. He was involved as a partner in setting up an entrepreneurial venture to provide M&A and advisory services to mid-sized corporates in India. Promeet was also a Managing Director at DSP Merrill Lynch Limited, the Investment Banking arm of Bank of America in India. During his 18-year stint with DSP Merrill Lynch, he held several senior positions including Head, General Industries Group and Head, Corporate Finance Group. Since 2008, he has also been responsible for senior relationships with large conglomerates.

Promeet holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and a Bachelor of Engineering from Regional Engineering College Trichy, India.

Amit Bhagat

Amit co-founded Real Estate practice of ASK Group in 2008. At ASK, he manages INR 5,000 cr ($750 mn) of Real Estate Investments. He has an experience of managing / advising investments of $1.25 bn in his current and previous assignments as Head of ICICI Property Services. He has over two decades of experience in financial services mainly in the mortgage and real estate business. Previously, he was also the National Credit Head for the mortgage division of ICICI Bank.

Prasad Gadkari

Prasad Gadkari heads the Strategic Investments and Policy Advisory Group at National Investment & Infrastructure Fund (NIIF). He has about 20 years’ infrastructure investing experience across private equity, principal investments, joint ventures, project finance, corporate & policy advisory. His most recent assignment before NIIF was as Managing Director at TVS Capital.
Earlier, Prasad used to be a Partner with IDFC Private Equity with a focus on core infrastructure (roads, airports, water, power transmission, ports & railways) and social sectors (education & healthcare). At IDFC PE, he handled the entire life cycle of the infrastructure private equity business ranging from fund raise to investing, portfolio management, Board directorships and profitable exits. Some of his notable deals were India’s first infrastructure asset holdco, first corporatized student housing business, largest private airport in the country, a water solutions company and South Asia’s largest chain of oncology hospitals.
In a previous role, Prasad was with General Electric (GE), where he handled the company’s infrastructure investing activities in South Asia, Middle East & N. Africa. Key assignments handled by him at GE were creation of joint ventures for metro railway projects, airports and a domestic infrastructure fund.
Prior to GE, Prasad was with IDFC Ltd where he led project financing deals such as Hyderabad Airport, Vizag Container Port, Annuity & Toll Roads and handled advisory assignments for Government entities such as NHAI, JNPT and Railways.
Prasad received an MBA from NMIMS, Mumbai and is a CFA Charter holder.

Saurabh Mukherjea

Shashank Singh is a Partner and Head of the India office of Apax Partners, the global Private Equity fund. Mohit Batra

Mohit Batra is the Executive Director on the Board of ICICI Venture, which is ICICI group’s alternative assets company, where he leads the Infrastructure practice. He joined ICICI Bank in 1992 and worked in the areas of corporate and project finance across a range of manufacturing sectors. He then moved to Mumbai as a part of ICICI Bank’s newly set up Infrastructure SBU and in 20004 was given the responsibility to Head the Project Finance Group which worked across the entire spectrum of Telecom, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, and Oil & Gas industries. In addition to project finance, Mohit was also involved in the strategic finance and advisory services offered by ICICI Bank including M&A, transaction structuring, acquisition financing etc. for the period 2006-07. Mohit has experience of around 150 deals including Public Private Partnerships aggregating to a project cost of over USD 77 billion. He has worked across the entire Capital structure including equity, subordinated /mezzanine debt and senior debt with total financing committed of around USD 36 billion.

Mohit has operated at the board level of companies and has had hands on experience in project finance, corporate banking, equity investing, strategic finance and resolution of stressed assets. He has in the past worked on several infrastructure policy initiatives undertaken by the Government in the areas of power, airports, telecom and roads.

At ICICI Venture, Mohit set up Resurgent Power, a USD 850 million Power Platform for buy-out of Indian power assets. Resurgent Power is co-sponsored by Tata Power and has Capital from a small group of large sophisticated global investors.

He has an MS in Management from Purdue University, USA.

Avnish Bajaj

Avnish Bajaj is the Founder and Managing Partner of Matrix Partners India which is an investment firm with close to USD 1 billion under management. Matrix India invests across early and early growth stages of businesses in Technology–related sectors.

Avnish’s select current investments for Matrix India include Limeroad (mobile social marketplace), Ola (mobility business),
Practo (healthcare app), Quikr (online local classifieds), Cloudnine (maternity hospitals) and Meditrina (cardiac care hospitals). His select past investments with exits include Ace2three (online rummy), Centre for Sight (eye care hospitals) and ItzCash (acquired by NASDAQ: EBIX). He is also a founder investor in Cleartrip (online travel aggregator) amongst other investments as an angel investor.

Previously Avnish was the co–founder, Chairman and CEO of India’s Largest Online Marketplace at the time – Baazee.com – which was acquired by eBay and he ran eBay India thereafter. Prior to Baazee, he was an Investment Banker in the Technology group at Goldman Sachs in New York and San Francisco. He was also a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. and started his career with Apple Computer in the Bay Area.

He is a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School, WARF Fellow from University of Wisconsin–Madison and a Computer Science graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology,Kanpur.

He has received a number of awards and citations including the ‘Midas Touch’ best investor award by The Economic Times and a repeat presence on the ’40 who matter’ list.

Kalpesh Kikani

Kalpesh has been investing in India for over 20 years. Previously, he was a part of ICICI Bank’s senior management team, as the Global Head of Special Situations & Structured Finance, where he was responsible for running India-focused investment teams based in Mumbai, Singapore and London. Prior to this, Kalpesh established and headed the corporate and investment banking business for ICICI Bank UK PLC focusing on leveraged and structured finance transactions with teams based in the United Kingdom, Germany and Belgium. Over the course of his career, Kalpesh has deep experience in investing in Indian enterprises in the area of distress, structured equity and credit investments.

Milind Joshi

Milind Joshi is currently Partner at IDFC Alternatives in the Infrastructure asset class which manages over US$ 1.8 billion across two Infrastructure Funds. He is currently responsible for origination and execution of transactions. He has over twenty two years of experience across operations and investments, principally in the transportation and energy sector and is on the Board of several Infrastructure companies.

Prior to joining IDFC Alternatives, Milind headed the Contracts & Commercial division at GMR Delhi International Airport Limited in India where he spent two years. At GMR Group, he worked with the transport group across different functions including project finance, commercial and contracts. Prior to GMR, Milind worked at Tata Power and Powergen India, where he was involved in several acquisitions and financing initiatives. Milind started his professional career at ICICI Limited in 1994 where he was a core member of the infrastructure business and managed a portfolio of over fifteen companies in the infrastructure space.

Milind holds a Masters in Business Administration from Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata and a Degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Sharad Bhatia

Sharad has over 39 years of experience in the financial services industry, including the last 18 years in the area of distressed debt. He worked in various capacities with ICICI group, Kotak Mahindra group and Axis Bank and is presently Managing Director at Multiples Alternate Asset Management Private Ltd, where he leads the Stressed Assets team. Before joining Multiples, he served as President-Stressed Assets at Axis Bank and as CEO at Phoenix ARC Private Limited.

He has served on the Boards of several leading corporates and is a regular speaker on issues relating to distressed debt and asset reconstruction.

Sharad is a chemical engineer with a postgraduate degree in business management. He also attended the AMP at Insead, France.

Sanjay Kukreja

Sanjay Kukreja is Managing Partner with ChrysCapital and is part of the core team that helped the firm scale from a startup to India’s leading private equity firm with over $3 billion under management in eighteen years. Mr. Kukreja joined ChrysCapital in April 2000 and currently leads the Business Services, Financial Services and Manufacturing verticals for the firm. Kukreja has been on the board of several companies such as Infogain, KPIT Technologies, Liquid Hub, Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd, Titagarh Wagons Limited, etc. He has led several high profile investments of the firm such as HCL, Infosys and Cyient and has also worked extensively on managing exits for ChrysCapital, where ChrysCapital has been an industry leader. Vishal Tulsyan

Vishal founded MOPE in 2006 with MOFSL being the sponsor. At MOPE, Vishal looks to build a platform to channelize long-term capital to create valuable enterprises and successful entrepreneurs. He plays a crucial role in building the Team and defining the strategies that have taken MOPE to its present levels and has been directly involved both in identifying businesses, as well as in supporting portfolio companies.
Vishal has spent two decades in the Indian financial sector across private equity, investment banking and structured finance. He brings on board his deep experience of raising, investing and returning third party capital across several economic cycles. Prior to founding MOPE, Vishal was with Rabobank during its formative years in India, helping build its corporate finance and investment banking franchise. Padmanabh (Paddy) Sinha

Padmanabh (Paddy) Sinha is the Managing Partner of the advisory team for the flagship private equity fund of the Tata group – Tata Opportunities Fund. Prior to joining Tata Capital as a founding partner of the Tata Opportunities Fund, Sinha was the Managing Director for India at Temasek Holdings. Sinha was part of Temasek’s founding India team in 2004 and during his tenure at Temasek also led global special projects for Temasek. He has worked with ICICI Venture previously as well as an entrepreneur where he was the President of an e-learning company funded by ChrysCapital, Star TV and International Finance Corporation, which he eventually sold to a listed Indian corporation. Sinha has served on several corporate boards, including select Tata companies. He is the current Vice Chairman of the Indian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (IVCA)

The Tata Opportunities Fund is a USD 600 million third party private equity fund which invests in select Tata group entities as well as other independent Indian businesses. Udai Dhawan

Udai is a Managing Director with Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE) and joined to fund in 2008. Sudhir Variyar

Sudhir is a founding partner with Multiples Alternate Asset Management Private Limited, a leading Indian mid-market private equity fund. Rajesh Raju

Rahul Bhasin

Rahul Bhasin is the Founder and Managing Partner of Baring India, and a Senior Partner and Global Board Member of Baring Private Equity Partners (BPEP) International. He is also a member of the Investment Committee of Baring Vostok Capital Partners, and has been an Advisory Board member of the ING Group in India. He has crafted the strategy and execution processes for the investments by the Predecessor Funds since his joining in 1997.

Mr. Bhasin served as the Chairman of Mphasis Limited (now a Hewlett-Packard subsidiary) and oversaw its transformation from a 120-man, US$ 6 million revenue, loss-making company into a 43,000 employee, US$ 1.2 billion revenue, US$ 200 million net profit-making enterprise. In addition, for most of the past two decades, he has served as Chairman or member of the boards of RMZ Corp, JRG Securities (now renamed as Inditrade Capital), Secova, PharmArc, and Auro Mira Energy, among many others. He has also served as the Chair of the Audit and Investment Committee of HOEC, one of the largest independent Oil & Gas players in India. Prior to Baring India, Mr. Bhasin joined Citibank in London as a member of the Global and Emerging Market Asset Allocation Committee of the Global Asset Management Group, where he was responsible for asset allocation on a sector and regional basis for all global portfolios. He has actively invested in and managed funds across various asset classes including derivatives in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Russia, Asia, and India. He oversaw and drove business start-ups across multiple geographies in different asset management business. Prior to moving to London, He was the youngest Independent Treasurer to date at Citibank, managing the treasury for Northern India. Vishal Gupta, is the Managing Director at Bessemer Venture Partners in Bangalore. Vishal joined BVP India in 2006 and focuses on investments in consumer internet, fin tech and health tech. Vishal is currently on the board of Bigbasket, Swiggy, LivSpace, Pharmeasy, Urbanclap, Hungama, MediAssist, NephroPlus, Perfios, Innoviti, Home First Finance, Applied Solar Technologies and Anunta Technologies. Previously, served as an executive assistant to the CEO a joint venture of HCL Tech and Deutsche Bank in India.

Bhavna Thakur

Bhavna Thakur joined Everstone as the Head of Capital Markets in 2015. Bhavna has over 18 years of corporate finance, investment banking, M&A and capital markets experience and has worked with banks, financial services providers and legal firms worldwide. These include investment banking at Citigroup Global Markets and Morgan Stanley in Mumbai and Hong Kong respectively and capital markets and M&A law at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York and London and Paul Weiss in New York. Bhavna holds a Bachelor of Laws from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and a Master of Laws from Columbia University, New York.

Sharad Mittal

Sharad joined MORE in 2013, spearheading the firm’s real estate fund practice and has been instrumental in rebuilding and scaling up the MORE business from an AUM of Rs. 200 Cr to more than Rs. 2,000 Cr over this period. Jayanta Banerjee

Jayanta has over 25 years of industry experience with the last 15 years in the private equity business in India. He has in-depth experience of full cycle investing and fund raising in private equity. Prior to joining the private equity industry Jayanta was an entrepreneur. He has also been an investment banker and has worked in the industrial sector. Previously, Jayanta was President – Private Equity at ICICI Venture. Prior to that, he was the India head of private equity at Lehman Brothers. Parth Gandhi

Parth Gandhi is Senior Partner and Managing Director at AION India Investment Advisors Private Limited. Prior to that he was President of Private Equity at ICICI Venture Funds Management Company Limited. At ICICI Venture he was responsible for establishing the strategic partnership with Apollo and in developing AION Investment strategy. He brings nearly two decades of investing experience in India. Virender Pankaj

Virender Pankaj manages an asset book of more than Rs 42,000 crores in areas of Infrastructure Finance, Structured Finance and Supply Chain Finance. He has been instrumental in building and growing the wholesale business significantly over the last decade. Under his leadership, the debt capital market business has grown multifold. LTFS is the market leader in its focussed areas of infrastructure finance; Renewables, Operating roads and Transmission.

Pankaj has over 26 years of experience in project finance, project appraisal, working capital, corporate finance. He has extensive experience in lending to sectors such as power (thermal, wind, hydro and solar), roads, social infrastructure (healthcare, education and hospitality), and industrial finance. Previously, Pankaj was with State Bank of India and over the span of his tenure had exposure to various aspects of project, corporate finance and development banking.

Pankaj holds a degree in textile technology, MBA (Finance) and is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He has conceptualised and co-founded a grass root NGO, ‘Niramaya’, for blindness prevention and vision restoration in rural areas. Kaushik Anand

Kaushik Anand heads India for CapitalG. Prior to CapitalG, Kaushik worked at Sequoia Capital and McKinsey & Company. He has also started four companies in US and India in energy and internet including the travel search site, Cleverlayover. Kaushik graduated with an engineering degree from IIT Madras where he won the CA Sastry Endowment Award and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar.

Kailash Vaswani

Kailash is the Dy. Chief Financial Officer at ReNew Power. He has more than 17 years of hands-on experience in corporate finance and investing. He spearheaded a team that resulted in US$200M fund raise from Goldman Sachs for ReNew Power as a startup in 2011 and has since then been responsible for all fund raised at ReNew. As part of ReNew, he has lead the cumulative debt raise in excess of US$3 bn. for the various projects of the Group and cumulative equity raise of US$ 1.1 billion from marquee global investors such as Goldman Sachs, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Asian Development Bank, JERA, CPPIB and Global Environment Fund. He has also led large scale acquisitions for ReNew. Prior to ReNew Power, he worked in Corporate Finance and Investments division at Saffron Asset Advisors and Aditya Birla Group. Rehan Yar Khan

Rehan Yar Khan is Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Orios Venture Partners, a seed stage venture fund. Currently investing from its Fund II predominantly in consumer focused startups, tech and non tech. Orios’ portfolio includes Prettysecrets, Country Delight, GoMechanic, PharmEasy, ZipGo and others. Rehan previously led investments in OlaCabs and Druva.

Rehan has been an entrepreneur since 1992 building 3 companies; was also closely involved in the establishment of Indian Angel Network Mumbai Chapter and Harvard Angels. He is an active supporter of entrepreneurship development in India as a TiE Charter and IVCA Executive Committee member.

Gopal Jain

Gopal co-founded Gaja Capital in 2004 and is a managing partner at the Firm. He has led several of the Firm’s investments in sectors including consumer, education and financial services. Gopal has been investing in Indian equities since the age of thirteen and has been a professional investor in the Indian capital markets for 26 years. He is one of the most experienced private equity investors in India having led or co-led over 30 private equity investments since 1995. He is a graduate in electrical engineering from IIT Delhi.

 

Vikas Chimakurthy

Vikas Chimakurthy is a part of the leadership team at Kotak Realty Fund that manages over US$ 1 billion of funds under management. He joined the Kotak Mahindra group in 1999 and has approximately 17 years of work experience.

Prior to joining the Fund in 2007, Vikas worked with Kotak Investment Banking where he headed the real estate and energy sectors. Vikas set up real estate coverage for Kotak Investment Banking. Vikas successfully led M&A transactions across sectors such as energy, telecom, technology, media and chemicals.

Vikas received an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.-Delhi) and completed his MBA from Faculty of Management Studies (Delhi University).

Niren Shah

Prior to eBay, Niren was part of the original team at Baazee.com, Inc., the leading Indian eCommerce player in the mid-2000s (which was eventually acquired by eBay). Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, Niren was an investment banker with KPMG focusing on the Financial
Services and Technology spaces and before that, a Registered Equity Dealer on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Niren is a rank holder Chartered Accountant and a Gold medallist Masters in Commerce from University of Mumbai.

Jayanta Basu

Prior to co-founding CX Advisors LLP, Jayanta was a Director with CVCI, where he had over eight years of investing experience. During his tenure with CVCI, he worked to identify and invest, manage and exit a large number of companies across a wide spectrum of industries including, among others, IT enabled services, financial services, auto, metals and mining, infrastructure, pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals, oil and gas services, media and textiles. He serves on the boards of the following CX Fund 1 portfolio companies: Matrix, Sutures, SIS, TSI, Minacs and Ujjivan.

Yeshwanth M Kini

Yeshwanth M Kini has over 27 years of experience in the Indian markets. He has co-founded and led KAUP Capital, an Infrastructure Private Equity player from 2008 to date. KAUP is the exclusive advisor to the Mauritius based Manager of the Infrastructure India Holdings Fund LLC (IIHF). IIHF manages international pension and superannuation money and invests in India. The focus has been on providing growth capital to small and medium sized companies. Despite a smaller size, KAUP stands apart with the performance of its portfolio – with significantly positive returns on all of its investments, in a period when the Infra sector in India has faced tremendous headwinds. Some of the investments include Aegis Logistics, Ocean Sparkle and Gujarat Pipavav Port. Kirill Kozhevnikov

Kirill is a Managing Director and Partner at Sistema Asia Fund (SAF) Advisory and is based out of New Delhi. He joined SAF from Sistema Headquarters in 2015 and supervised and executed the launch of Sistema Asia Fund.

Kirill leads SAF investments in the space of enterprise software, healthcare, education, artificial intelligence/data analytics, virtual/augmented reality, and internet of things (IoT). He led 3 deals of the fund in 2016-2017 – Seclore, Qwikcilver, Netmeds where he now serves as a Board member.

Kirill brings almost two decades of operational and investment experience to his role, having worked on projects in Russia/CIS countries, Europe, USA, South Africa and India. Prior to Sistema and Sistema Asia Fund Kirill was a Venture Partner in an early stage VC fund, a Chief Investment Officer in Russian sovereign nanotechnology fund, and a VC advisor to multiple Russian startups. Before VC community fascinated him, Kirill spent 7 years in investment banking and 2 years in management and financial consulting. Sameer Nath

Prior to co founding Iron Pillar in January 2016, Sameer was an investment banker for 15 years, all with Citigroup. Iron Pillar is a venture capital fund focused on filling the gap for "mid stage" technology investments in India. It backs proven and visionary technology companies in the consumer and enterprise space post Series A. It actively partners with entrepreneurs and early stage investors to help companies by leveraging extensive experience in India, the US, China and SE Asia. The 6 person Iron Pillar team has 17 years of average experience and complementary skill sets in venture investing, M&A, operations and technology.

Sameer’s investment banking experience spans a wide spectrum of transactions across M&A, Equity / Debt Capital Markets and Private Equity Advisory. He was a Managing Director at Citi since 2010 and helped build market-leading franchises in M&A in India and Technology in India and globally. For the last 2 years, Sameer was responsible for leading Citi’s investment banking coverage for Private Equity and Industrials/Conglomerate clients throughout Southeast Asia. Prior to relocating to Singapore in January 2014, Sameer was Head of Mergers & Acquisitions for Citi in India, based in Mumbai. In that role, Sameer provided M&A leadership for Citi’s banking franchise in India. He was involved in the origination and execution of advisory transactions across all sectors, with a focus on large, cross-border deals including several Technology deals. Sameer led many landmark transactions in his 5.5 years in Mumbai, during which Citi was a consistent leader in the Indian M&A market.

Previously, Sameer spent 6 years in Technology investment banking in New York. He visited India regularly and worked on several market-shaping M&A deals, IPOs and Leveraged Buyouts in the US-India corridor. Sameer was also selected to spend a year working with the Co-Heads and COO of Citi Global Investment Banking on management and strategic initiatives. Sameer joined Salomon Smith Barney in New York in 2001.  His prior experience from 1996 to 1999 was in strategy consulting at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, based in Washington, DC. Inderbir Singh Dhingra

Inderbir is part of the leadership team of the IFC AMC Emerging Asia Fund, a sector agnostic fund investing alongside IFC in Emerging Markets in Asia. He has more than 19 years of experience in private equity and debt investments, equity research, and public policy. Prior to joining the IFC AMC, he held various positions in the Financial Institutions Group at IFC, including managing the South Asia portfolio and subsequently leading the direct equity investments across Asia Pacific. He has also worked at the World Bank in providing financial and advisory assistance to national and provincial governments in India and East Africa in the areas of SME financing, Infrastructure PPPs, Innovation Policy and Investment Climate. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Inderbir served as a Vice President at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) and Deutsche Bank, leading their Equities Research for the Pharmaceuticals, Telecom Services & Equipment, and Media sectors based in Mumbai.

Inderbir holds an MBA equivalent from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, a Bachelors in Commerce (Honours) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and a Diploma in Business Finance from the Indian Chartered Financial Analyst Institute. He has published papers on Investment Climate in India, Infrastructure Finance, Public Private Partnership units, and Enhancing Innovation Finance through seed and early stage venture capital funding.

Parameswara Krishnan

Parameswara Krishnan has about 28 years of experience in financial markets, much of it on the Buy side in public markets, in India and Asian regional markets. Krishnan was the portfolio manager for the first bank sponsored mutual fund scheme in India from SBIMF in 1990-92. He was also the fund manager of the first private sector MF in India – Kothari Pioneer MF. He managed the Kothari Pioneer Bluechip Fund in 1993-94.

Krishnan had a long career with DNB Asset Management group, one of the top five asset managers in the Nordic region. During the 19 year stint with DNB, he managed Carlson Asian Small Cap Fund and the India fund from the DNB range. The Asian Small Cap fund, with a concentrated focus on China and India, was the most successful public market fund from DNB with peak AUM of USD 1.3 billion. Krishnan helped establish DNB as the most credible India investment expert in Sweden and Norway between 1998 and 2017. He has extensive experience in Taiwan and ASEAN markets and as an asset allocator for small caps in Asian markets.

He holds a B.E in Computer Science and a PGDM from IIM, Bangalore. Krishnan has recently joined Spark Capital, one of India’s leading mid-market .focussed Investment Banking firm to roll out their Equity Asset Management business

Sujan Hajra

Sujan Hajra joined the Anand Rathi Group in 2006 and is currently the Executive Director, Chief Economist of the Group. He also heads the research team of Institutional Equity. He previously worked with the Reserve Bank of India for 16 years. The last post he held at the Reserve Bank was Director, Department of Economic Analysis & Policy.

The Institutional Investor poll rates Sujan as one of the top economists in India and within the top 20 in Asia (excluding Japan). Before joining the Reserve Bank of India, Sujan was a Research Fellow of the University Grant Commission (UGC) and was declared National Scholar twice.

Sujan has been a part of various official Committees and Groups and represented India and the Reserve Bank of India at various national and international forums including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the United Nations Commission on Trade & Development (UNCTAD), the World Bank and the World Trade Organisation (WTO). He led the Indian delegates at the inaugural conference of Young Economists with the Nobel Prize Winners in Economics.

Sujan is the author of a book (Re-emerging India: A Global Perspective) and over 20 technical articles on economics and finance in referred national and international journals. He is an M. Phil in International Trade & Development and M.A. in Economics, from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Amitabh Chaudhry

Amitabh Chaudhry has been associated with HDFC Life since January 2010. Prior to joining HDFC Life, he was associated with Infosys BPO Ltd (since 2003). He was the MD & CEO of Infosys BPO Ltd and was also heading the testing unit of Infosys Technologies Ltd. Prior to Infosys BPO Ltd, he was associated with CALYON Bank (Formerly Credit Lyonnais Securities). He started his career in 1987 with Bank of America, where he worked in diverse roles ranging from Head of Technology Investment Banking for Asia, Regional Finance Head for Wholesale Banking and Global Markets and Chief Finance Officer (Bank of America, India). Mr. Chaudhry holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Rishi Aswani

Rishi is a director in the Valuation Advisory Services group and is based in Mumbai. He is responsible for overseeing Portfolio Valuations and Secondary Market Advisory in India.

Rishi has over 14 years of financial advisory experience, both on the consulting and client side. His clients primarily include alternative asset managers, including private equity funds, hedge funds and credit funds both in India and in the U.S and U.K. Rishi specializes in mark-to-market valuations across diverse portfolios of illiquid and privately-held securities including loans, bonds, convertibles, preferred equity, equity, and derivatives under the guidelines of IFRS 13, ASC§820 or the equivalent local GAAP standard.
Rishi returned to Duff & Phelps in 2015 through the firm’s acquisition of American Appraisal. A seasoned adviser, Gaurav has about 20 years of experience across investment funds, responsible PE/VC investments, corporate development and policy reform having worked in India and international markets. Akshay Kiran

Akshay joined the Milltrust family in 2016 as director of the Singapore based multifamily office EICM and runs the fund selection, investment structuring and syndications mandate focusing primarily on private equity, real assets and venture capital.

He has about 15 years of experience across a diverse range of sectors and has spent significant time in mid-market investment banking and structuring financial solutions in Asia-Pacific. Prior to Milltrust, he ran a boutique project finance and advisory in Singapore advising on over one billion USD of transactions focusing mainly on South East Asian energy, resources and infrastructure. He spent his early banking years at Barclays Capital and Nomura in fixed income/risk and prime brokerage respectively.

Harish Chander

Harish has over three decades of experience in working with SBI, IDBI & Edelweiss (the largest players in the respective fields in India) in project & infra financing documentation, distress asset investing, asset resolution and recovery. Harish was Head of Project & Infrastructure Financing (Loan & Security) Group at IDBI. He was also the legal and resolution head of the Stressed Assets Stabilisation Fund where he handled revival, restructuring and resolution of Assets aggregating more than USD 2 billion. He has vast experience across various legal resolution mechanisms and has a deep understanding of structuring and documentation related to the resolution of troubled assets. Additionally, he has five years of experience as a lawyer in the courts from the district level to the Supreme Court of India. He holds a degree in Law with distinction from Punjabi University in India.

Srikrishna Dwaram

Srikrishna has been with TrueNorth since 2006. He is based in Mumbai and is involved with investments in Consumer, Agriculture and Financial Services. Sri is also involved in formulating the overall portfolio strategy. A gold medal winning Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Warangal, Srikrishna also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM, Ahmedabad. Vishal Kumar

Vishal is Managing Director at Xander and serves on the investment committee of the firm. Xander is one of India’s largest real estate private equity firms with over $2bn under management.
