Shinoj Koshy

Shinoj Koshy, Head – Corporate Practice, Nishith Desai Associates

Shinoj Koshy is the head of corporate practice, Nishith Desai Associates. He is a dual-qualified lawyer with extensive experience in cross-border transactions. He is qualified as an advocate in India (2004) and as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales (2007). He received a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from the National Law School of India and was awarded the Justice V. G. Ramachandran Gold Medal for Excellence. He has also completed his studies in International Commercial Negotiation from Stanford Law School, California, USA. He started his career with a clerkship at the Supreme Court of India working with Mr. Justice N. Santosh Hegde. In 2005, he joined Linklaters LLP and worked at its offices in London and Dubai. From 2007 to 2013, he worked for Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in London.

Shinoj’s practice focuses on corporate transactions, particularly joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions (intelecom, infrastructure and energy) and commercial dispute resolution. He has advised several corporates and private equity funds on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and foreign direct investment strategies for emerging markets like India, the Middle East and North Africa. In addition to his transactional practice, his corporate practice ranges from advising corporates and board-level professionals on corporate governance. As part of his pro-bono practice he has also been involved in mentoring programmes for women and independent directors.


Shivani Singhal

Shivani Singhal, Advocate, Arista Chambers

Shivani is an Advocate at Arista Chambers.Her practice focuses on dispute resolution, particularly contentious advisory matters. She has advised clients on several commercial litigation matters before the Delhi and Bangalore courts, and arbitrations administered by the London Court of Arbitration (LCIA), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).

Shivani has also been involved in high profile transactional work and regulatory investigations while working with Clifford Chance.

Shivendra Singh

Shivendra Singh, Leader-M&A and PE practice, Nishith Desai Associates

Mr. Shivendra Singh is the Leader, M&A and Private Equity practice at Nishith Desai Associates, New Delhi. He has over 10 years of experience in advising on a range of issues relating to M&A, angel investment, private equity and joint venture transactions, real estate, competition law and general corporate practice.

Mr. Singh has advised several early- and midstage startups from different sectors, including F&B, audio-visual content and literature, start-up incubator, road side assistance and ITES, in raising early round to institutional funding from PE, VC and Angel Investors. He has also advised leading corporate groups in executing certain strategic transactions, such as slump sale, joint ventures, group’s internal restructuring, strategic acquisitions, negotiating power purchase agreements etc.

Some of the notable projects undertaken by Mr. Singh includes: (i) advice to Emaar MGF on one of the largest real estate due diligence exercises in the National Capital Region of Delhi spread over 3000 acres of land; and (ii) representing the Archean Group in negotiating a power purchase agreement with Senelec for a proposed thermal power project expected to meet over 60% of the power requirements of Senegal. He has also been invited by the Parliament’s Standing Committee on Rural Development to express his views on The Registration (Amendment) Bill, 2013.

Mr. Singh is an alumnus of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal.
