S. S. Naganand, Founder, Just Law
An LLB gold medalist from Renukacharya College of Law, Bangalore University, and a qualified Chartered Accountant with a national gold medal to his credit, founder member Mr. Naganand started practice in 1981. He was a Senior Partner at M/s Sundaraswamy, Ramdas and Anand, Advocates (SRA) till 2008.
Having over 25 years of experience , he has garnered several accolades, by being designated Senior Advocate by the High Court of Karnataka (2000), Vice President of the Commission of Jurists, Vice Chairman and Treasurer of Maharani Laxmi Ammani College and Trust, among other eminent positions. He has also been the President of the Rotary Club Bangalore and is a Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Medical and Sai Media Foundation, as well as of the Lahiri Advocates Foundation.
Mr. Naganand concentrates his practice on Corporate and Commercial Laws, International Trade and Business Laws, Taxation Laws, Intellectual Property Law, Infrastructure, Power & Electricity Laws, Venture Capital Investments, Arbitration and Mediation and Land Laws. Sachin Agarwal, Director, Ernst & Young India
Sachin is a Director in the Tax & Regulatory Services of Ernst & Young Private Limited in Indirect tax group in India. He is a commerce graduate and is member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Assisted various multinational companies with the set up of their operations in India, advising them on their supply-chain models and on indirect tax matters. Advised and worked with domestic and foreign venture funds / Companies providing tax diligence and transaction support in acquisitions.
He works with a number of leading Indian and multi-national companies in the information technology and manufacturing sectors. He has represented clients at various appellate/ regulatory forums in India in resolving tax and regulatory disputes with Authorities. He has advised companies on setting up operations in special economic zones, industrial parks, software technology parks and in obtaining approvals from Authorities.
Sachin N Paranjape, Senior Director, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt. Ltd.
Mr. Sachin Paranjape has 20 years of experience in consulting and industry. He leads a national team in Corporate Governance and Control Assurance services. His experience includes over 12 years in Corporate Governance, Compliance management, Business Process Improvement, Risk Consulting, IT Audits, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework development and Sarbanes-Oxley attest and readiness services. He has worked with cross section of industries and clients from MNCs, Large Indian Corporates, PSUs, etc.
His Prior experience includes working with other Big 4 firms in the area of e-governance and ERM. He has also worked with one of the leading Indian Automobile manufacturer. He specializes in Corporate Governance, Enterprise Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Control Assurance Services, Sarbanes-Oxley and IT Audits.
Sailesh Rao, Partner - Transaction advisory services, Ernst and Young India
Mr. Sailesh Rao is a Partner with the Transaction advisory services of Ernst and Young India focussing on the industrial products sector and infrastructure. He joined Ernst & Young in 2001 and is based in the Bangalore office.
He specialises in Private equity fund raising, M&A in industrials, auto and services, Debt raising and project finance and Drafting of infrastructure concession agreements. He has worked in many projects relating PE fund raising and M&A transactions across a variety of sectors.
He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management (Bengaluru).
Sajai Singh, Partner, J. Sagar Associates
Sajai undertakes transactional work with a focus on representing emerging Technology companies in areas of Inbound Investments in India, Venture Capital (VC) & Private Equity (PE) investments, Joint Ventures, strategic alliances, Mergers & Acquisitions. In Venture Funding & Private Equity transactions, Sajai has represented both funds and investee companies. During his career he has represented clients in a cross section of industries including Media, Communication, Entertainment and BPO (Business Process Outsourcing).
He has assisted many international businesses and funds to funnel investments in India. These clients include established and high technology companies, Internet start-ups, connectivity specialists, e-commerce ventures, conversion technology and technology based entertainment industries. He leads the Firm’s Technology, Media & Telecommunication Practice.
He is also the India representative for ABA International along with being the Co-Chair of the India Committee of ABA SIL. He is the Chair of the International Sub-committee of the PE / VC Committee of the ABA Section of Business Law. He is very active with TiE and ABA (American Bar Association) globally, and is often called to speak at international events.
Sajai Singh, Partner, JSA Law
Sajai is the Chair of the Firm’s Corporate Commercial Practice. His practice focuses primarily on Mergers, Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, strategic alliances, restructurings and financings (whether debt or equity), with particular emphasis on cross-border transactions.
He is an acclaimed transactional lawyer with more than 26 years of experience representing a wide variety of industries, businesses and sectors funnel investments into
India. This wealth of experience means that he understands the issues that arise in major transactions and can provide the solutions to resolve these issues; providing advice that goes well beyond legal and contractual matters, and into the technical and commercial heart of the success of the transaction.
Sajai also does corporate work related to regulatory matters, internal investigations and dispute resolutions, including:
- all aspects of white-collar crime, government investigation and compliance with the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Money Laundering Act, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), UK Bribery Act and other local and international anti-corruption laws.
- Indian employment law, industrial relations and executive compensation practices.
- In terms of commercial work, Sajai represents corporate clients in negotiating and documenting various business relationships with third parties, franchisees, distributors and agents.
In terms of sectors, Sajai maintains an active practice in the Knowledge based industries sectors. He is known as a pioneering lawyer supporting the development of the
Information Technology sector in India.
He regularly publishes and speaks on a variety of legal, regulatory and transaction related topics, specially focused on cross-border trade. Sajai is the Past President of ITechLaw, the International Technology Lawyers Association, headquartered in the US. This is a first for any Asian.

In his over 13 years of experience, Saket has led several internal audit, Sox 404 and risk advisory/ forensic engagements across a range of industries like Automobiles, Cement, Utilities, Infrastructure, Technology etc. He
has been instrumental in developing and supporting governance framework for companies and has been imparting trainings to organizations on the same. Saket has been actively involved with Industry association s and has led the launch of platform for E-Procurement at BDO, India. In his professional experience, Saket has also led forensic and investigations as well as advised clients in complying with FCPA/ UK Bribery Act requirements.
During the course of his career, he has developed specific expertise in manufacturing sector with particular emphasis on Automobiles, Industrial products – Steel, cement and ancillary companies. In his past experience he
has been engaged on large Internal audit.
Sambhav Ranka, Partner, IC Legal, Advocates & Solicitors
Sambhav Ranka is a Partner at IC Legal, Advocates & Solicitors, a Mumbai based international law firm and heads the Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity and Venture Capital investment practice at IC Legal. Sambhav is also an integral part of the Corporate and Securities and Investment Funds practice group at the Firm.
Sambhav graduated with a degree of B.S.L. and LL.B. from I.L.S. Law College, Pune and then pursued his LL.M. from University of London, U.K. and attained a Merit. Before IC Legal, Sambhav was associated with a leading international law firm Nishith Desai Associates and prior to that he had an experience of working with a city based law firm in London at their India desk.
Sambhav has been involved in various complex cross border (inbound and outbound) investment deals and acquisitions involving both private and public (listed and unlisted) entities. Samir is a Partner with BDO - Transaction Advisory Services. He has provided services across the deal continuum, though mainly focused on due diligence reviews. He has worked in the field of financial due diligence for last 16 years. Prior to joining BDO, he was a partner with due diligence practice of PwC for 6 years. Having worked across a range of sectors and transactions with values ranging from $2 million to $2 billion, he has significant experience in terms of nature and complexity of transaction & diligences. He has carried out more than 300+ due diligences to date. Samir also has significant experience in cross border deals and has worked in Canada for 2 years.
Samuel Mani, Partner, Mani Chengappa & Mathur
Samuel Mani is a founding partner of Mani Chengappa & Mathur, a technology, outsourcing and employment focused law firm based in Bangalore. A graduate of the National Law School of India, Samuel specialises in advising clients on technology and outsourcing transactions, early stage investments/M&A, privacy, insurance and dispute resolution.
Prior to founding the firm, Samuel was the global Head of Legal for Infosys Limited and all of its subsidiaries. He was the primary lawyer at Infosys for a large part of its growth from 700 million dollars per annum to 7 billion dollars per annum. Samuel has also served as a legal advisor to Reliance Industries Limited where he worked primarily in the telecommunications space.
In September 2010, Lex Witness Magazine named Samuel to its Hall of Fame as one of the top 50 people who are shaping the legal landscape of modern India. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars on a variety of topics including technology and the law, insurance, and dispute resolution. Most notably Samuel delivered the Annual Lecture to the Society for Computers and Law in 2010 in London, England.
