Debjani Ghosh, President, NASSCOM

Debjani Ghosh is the President of the National Association of Software & Services Companies (NASSCOM) since April 2018. A veteran of the technology industry, she is the fifth president of NASSCOM and the first women at the helm in three-decade history.

She is a firm believer in the power of technology in enhancing lives and livelihoods, leveraging it for societal good. She was instrumental in developing ‘Think Digital, Think India’ strategy aimed at establishing India as a hub for digital talent and innovation. Debjani strongly believes technology will have the most impact on humankind when it’s used as an enabler of inclusive growth and that India must lead in the digital era with focus on the responsible build and use of tech as an accelerator and equalizer.

As the NASSCOM President, she actively works with the industry and Government to accelerate the growth of the Industry and strengthen India’s position as hub for Innovation and Digital Talent.  Her approach has been focused on a three-point agenda - talent development and re-skilling, strengthening the innovation culture in the country and collaborating with governments across the world to open new opportunities for the Indian IT industry.

The pandemic has created a tremendous opportunity for the tech industry to reinvent itself. The NASSCOM playbook for reimagining the industry focuses on Trust, Digital Talent, People-first Innovation, Agility & Resilience as the core differentiators. Debjani believes that by leveraging these differentiators to the fullest, we can create a future that’s better than the past.

In January 2018, she was felicitated by the President of India under the auspices of the ‘First Ladies’ program, which honors exceptional women pioneers in their respective fields. In 2020, she has been honored by Vogue as the Tech Leader of the year 2020. She has also been listed among the India’s most powerful women in tech by Business Today.

With multiple feathers in her cap, before joining NASSCOM, she was the first woman to lead Intel India and the Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology (MAIT), she was also a member of the executive council at NASSCOM. She believes that learning never stops and a trainable mindset is the biggest strength one can have.


Debjani Ghosh, Managing Director-South Asia, Vice President-Sales and Marketing Group, Intel Corporation

Ms. Debjani Ghosh is Vice President in the Sales and Marketing Group and Managing Director for South Asia at Intel Corporation. Based in India, she is responsible for establishing new growth areas for Intel in the South Asian region. She works with governments and industry in these countries to establish policies and initiatives that help accelerate the adoption of technology in the region, especially as an enabler of inclusive growth and development. Ms. Ghosh joined Intel in 1996 as a marketing communications executive charged with developing a consumer marketing program in India. Subsequently, she set up and managed Intel's education programs across the Asia Pacific region. Before assuming her current role, she had served as Southeast Asia Marketing Manager, as Country Manager for Malaysia, and most recently, as director for Southeast Asia. Before joining Intel, Ms. Ghosh spent 3 years with Ogilvy & Mather. She is a member of the Executive Council of National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) and a trustee of the NASSCOM Foundation.  She is also the President of the Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology (MAIT) and the chair of the IT Committee at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). In 2015, Fortune India ranked her as the 14th most powerful woman in business in India. Ms. Debkani Ghosh holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, and an MBA degree in marketing from S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research in Mumbai, India.

Debolina Partap, General Counsel, Wockhardt Limited

Ms. Debolina Partap, General Counsel and Vice President Legal, Wockhardt, is a Gold Medalist in masters of law and has 25 years of experience in banking, finance, pharma and healthcare. She is responsible for IP and Litigation Management, legal compliance, all corporate legal work, M&As, transactions management amongst others. She advises top management on legal risks to the organization. Her main achievements come in handling complex IP cases, M&A transactions, setting up legal compliance systems, legal repository management, standardization of legal processes and documents, settling insolvency petitions and intricate derivatives suits. She is also handling legal issues pertaining to complex and composite global regulatory matters concerning Wockhardt Group. Her other focus areas have been handling legal dynamics of patient safety issues, overseeing GCP, GMP and GDP areas in pharma. She is one of the few general counsels globally who handle forensics and data analytics. She and her team have won over 80 awards from Internationally and Nationally recognized legal organizations.


Deep Agrawal, Head of Payments, PhonePe

Deep Agrawal is Director and Head of Payments at PhonePe. He oversees the entire Payments suite of offerings across the PhonePe ecosystem. He joined PhonePe two years ago.

Prior to this, Deep was Executive Vice President, Digital Banking at YES BANK where he was responsible for the YES BANK’s emerging payments area with a special focus on launching innovative products catering to various segments of customers across Corporate and Retail use cases. He was responsible for the creation of the Go-to-Market strategy and then launching and scaling products and businesses such as UPI, Bharat Bill Pay (BBPS), IMPS, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) to industry-leading positions. He has worked on innovative programs such as YES SIMsePAY and YES Money which have contributed significantly to the Financial Inclusion agenda. These businesses have received several awards from notable entities such as Nasscom, Finnoviti, SKOCH, Golden Peacock, NPCI and MasterCard. He has represented YES BANK at Steering Committees of NPCI and at other industry forums such as IBA which help shape the entire digital payment ecosystem of the country.

He holds an MBA from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and a B.Tech degree in Computer Science Engineering from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology.


Deep Kalra, Founder & CEO, MakeMyTrip

The pioneer of online travel in India, Deep Kalra founded MakeMyTrip in April, 2000. Drawing on his experience from his years at GE Capital, AMF Bowling Inc. and ABN AMRO Bank, under his stewardship, MakeMyTrip has become the largest online travel company, as well as the largest e-commerce business in India.

Deep is a member of the Executive Council of NASSCOM and chairs the NASSCOM Internet Working Group. He is also a Charter Member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) and serves on the Board of TiE, New Delhi.

Deep is also a member of CII's Tourism sub-committee and a regular speaker at numerous internet and travel conferences across the world. He currently serves as an independent Director for IndiaMart.com, a leading B2B website.He is also a founding member of “I am Gurgaon”, an NGO focused on the improving the quality of life in Gurgaon.

Deep holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi (1990), and a MBA (PGDM) degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (1992). His interests include adventure sports, swimming, yoga, quizzing and travelling to places off the beaten path.He is an active angel investor from Indian Angel Network.


Deep Kalra, Chairman and Group CEO, MakeMyTrip

Deep is the Founder, Group Chairman and Group CEO of India’s leading online travel company, MakeMyTrip Ltd. Launched in India in 2005, MakeMyTrip is today one of the largest e-commerce business in the country. Deep steered MakeMyTrip as CEO since its inception in 2000, to a successful listing on NASDAQ in August 2010. He took on the role of Group CEO in August 2013, to focus on Strategy, M&A and international businesses. He continues to lead the Group’s strategic development and overall execution excellence.

Deep served as the President of TiE Delhi Chapter from 2013 to 2016 and continues to serve as an active board member. He is the Vice Chairman of IAMAI and a member of Nasscom’s Internet Council. Deep is also closely involved with leading industry bodies like CII and FICCI as part of their Travel & Tourism sub-committees. He is one of the founders of Ashoka University and serves on their governing body. A believer in citizens effort, he is a founding member of “I am Gurgaon” – an NGO focused on improving the quality of life in Gurgaon.

Deep has been recognized by Ernst & Young as Entrepreneur of the Year – Business Transformation (2011) and as the most powerful Digital influencer in India (2012) by KPMG. TTG Asia awarded him Best Travel Entrepreneur of 2012 at the TTG Travel Awards.

Prior to his entrepreneurial venture with MakeMyTrip, Deep has had corporate stints with GE Capital, AMF Bowling Inc. and ABN AMRO Bank. He holds an MBA degree from IIM, Ahmedabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. His interests include swimming, yoga, adventure sports quizzing and travelling.


Deep Mishra, MD, Everstone Capital Advisors

Deep Mishra is a Managing Director in the private equity team of Everstone Capital Advisors.

Prior to joining Everstone in 2009, Deep had over 13 years of experience in private and public investments, investment banking and as an entrepreneur. Deep previously worked with Och Ziff Capital Management and Ernst & Young. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from IIT Kanpur and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Calcutta.
