Vijay Nallan Chakravarthi, Executive Director, Investments, Standard Chartered Private Equity | @StanChart

Vijay Nallan Chakravarthi is an Executive Director at Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE), where he leads investments in Financial Services, Healthcare, Consumer, Technology and Education sectors. He is involved with the fund’s investments in Fortis, Cafe Coffee Day group and Varun Beverages. Prior to SCPE Vijay was a Vice President at Bain Capital India and at The Boston Consulting Group (Chicago), where he focused on private equity and M&A. Vijay is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and alumnus of the Operations Management Leadership Program from the General Electric Company (GE, USA), where he held multiple leadership positions in GE’s healthcare business .

Vijay earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, MS from The Ohio State University and BE from the University of Madras.


Vijay Paradkar, Vice President (M&A), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd

Vijay Madhav Paradkar is Vice President for Mergers and Acquisitions at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd where he is responsible for all M & A, JV, Disinvestments, and PE investment of the company. He has 32 years of experience in the areas of Institutional & Corporate Finance, Fund Management, PE Investment, Investment Banking and M&A. Vijay has handled famous transactions like Kinetic Motors asset disinvestment, acquisition of Reva Electric Car co., restructuring of Renault JV and many cross border transactions in countries such as Australia, Italy, UK, Spain, Japan etc.

Vijay is also part of visiting faculties at renowned management institutes such as BSE Training Institute, JBIMS, MET & Welingkar Institute. A Mechanical Engineer by profession, Vijay also holds a Masters in Management Studies.

Vijay Sethi, CIO, CHRO & Head - CSR, Hero MotoCorp

Mr. Sethi is the Chief Information Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) & Head Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the company. He also leads innovation efforts in the company. He serves as a Board Member of M/s HMC MM Auto Ltd. (A joint venture of HMCL and M/s Magneti Marelli of Italy). Mr. Sethi has almost 30 years of experience in manufacturing industry and consulting environment. He joined Hero MotoCorp in 2007 and prior to that, he has worked with Ranbaxy and TCS.

Vijay Simha, CEO, OneBreath Inc

Vijay graduated in 1979 from BITS Pilani, and consciously pursued everything that had the word start in it. While in school he was obsessed by how the Universe started and won the National Science Talent scholarship to pursue that. Then he went on to start a number of exciting new stuff - new ways to analyze materials, new ways to manufacture large biomolecules, new ways to build markets and also experienced new ways to fail. He was fortunate to be a part of 3 sub industrial revolutions that happened in India; the biotech revolution, the auto components revolution and now the medical technology revolution.


He is currently evangelising medical technology as a sunrise industry that holds the key to India becoming an economic super power. Vijay Sinha, Senior Vice President-HR, JSW Energy Ltd

A firm believer in level 5 leadership, Vijay Sinha is working presently as Senior Vice President- HR for JSW Energy Ltd. which is a   part of $12 billion JSW group. In addition to his responsibility as HR head of JSW Energy, Vijay is also setting up Shared Services Centre for JSW group and is driving this as Director of JSW GBS Ltd. Vijay also heads JSW Energy Centre of Excellence which has the distinction of being the first training Institute in the country established by a private power company to provide training on the real time PC based power plant simulator of 300 MW.

Vijay has rich & varied experience of more than 23 years in various gamut of HR across different industries ranging from Manufacturing, Hospitality, Market Research, Animation & Retail. Prior to joining JSW Energy, Vijay had a stint with HyperCITY Retail (I) Ltd. where he worked as Business Head-HR & Administration. While working at Reliance BIG Animation (I) Pvt. Ltd. as VP-HR & Trg., Vijay is credited with starting BIG AIMS, an Animation academy which is one of the leading animation institutes in the country.

A management graduate from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, Vijay started his career with Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). He was awarded with coveted Jawahar Award in the year 2005 in SAIL for his outstanding contributions to HR which contributed to turnaround of Rourkela Steel Plant. With a strong belief that employees constitute the most powerful force in moving the organization forward even if the organization is highly techno-centric, Vijay has been successful in recruiting more than 6000 employees in one year for RKHS, a company which was later acquired by Sodexo. During his stint at the Nielsen, Vijay implemented several Talent Management initiatives and was given “Nielsen Award” for demonstrating core values and successfully implementing several change initiatives and global business restructuring at The Nielsen, India. He has been awarded with “HR Leadership Award” during Global HR Excellence Awards 2011-12 as well as well as “Indira Super Achievers Award” in the year 2010. Also featured in the 4th edition of the book “MOST POWERFUL HR PROFESSIONALS OF INDIA” released in the year 2012 in Bangalore.

An alumnus of Hindu College, University of Delhi where he graduated in Mathematical Statistics, Vijay has been actively associated with SPIC-MACAY during his college days and now with many professional bodies. He has more than 15 years of experience in core finance function including cost optimization, revenue maximization, compliances, finance and business automation specializing in Media and Entertainment sector.  His experience includes Head Finance at Zee Entertainment (ZEE5), Viacom18, Moserbaer, Balaji, EY and KPMG.
