Sumegh Bhatia, CEO & MD - India, Lighthouse Canton

Sumegh is a capital & financial market professional with two decades of experience in financial markets. In his last role as Executive Director with Avendus Capital, he was responsible for managing a profitable vertical within the Wealth Management business. He has previously worked as a Sr. Market Director with Reliance Capital and has been instrumental in setting up a profitable private wealth business for the ADAG group and spent 6 years in building a $500 MM Private Client Business in India.

He has also worked with Citi Private Bank as Vice President, heading the Investment advisory vertical in the year 2010. He was instrumental in setting up the PMS business for ING Investment Management in India as Vice President & Zonal Head in the year 2008 before joining Citi Private Bank. He has worked with organizations like Citibank, GE Money Consumer Finance & American Express across various business verticals.


Sumer Juneja, Director, Norwest Venture Partners | @NorwestVP

Sumer serves as an advisor on growth equity investments in Indian companies across a wide range of sectors, including telecom, technology, financial services, infrastructure and manufacturing.

Before joining NVP India in 2009, Sumer was a founding member of the Goldman Sachs’ Asian Special Situations Group in India, a balance sheet investing group with over $4 billion under management. In this role, Sumer originated and evaluated investment opportunities in a broad range of industries, conducted due diligence and had board level involvement with such companies as Bharti Infratel, IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd., IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd. (ITNL), Cremica and OnMobile.

Prior to this role, Sumer was an analyst for the Industrial and Natural Resources Team in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs. In this position, Sumer actively drove all aspects of the M&A process including financial analysis, due diligence and public and private buy-side and sell-side transactions. Transaction experience included acquisition of Paladin Resources by Talisman Energy, acquisition of Domnick Hunter by Parker Hannifin and advising Thames Water, a UK water utility, on the divestiture of its international assets valued at over $2 billion

Sumir Chadha, MD, Sequoia Capital India

Sumir Chadha is a Managing Director with Sequoia Capital India which was formed by merging Sequoia Capital and WestBridge Capital Partners which Sumir co-founded in 2000. Sumir has been investing in the Indian venture capital industry for the past ten years in several industries including offshore services, consumer internet and financial services. Prior to co-founding WestBridge, Sumir was a member of the Principal Investment Area at Goldman Sachs & Co. Prior to that, Sumir worked at McKinsey & Co. in New York and New Delhi. Sumir received an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School and a BSE in Computer Science from Princeton University.


Sumit Bali, CEO and Executive Director, IIFL Finance

Mr Sumit Bali is the Chief Executive Officer and an Executive Director of the Company.  He holds a B.A (Hon) from St. Stephen’s college, New Delhi and has completed his PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad.

Prior to his current role, Mr Bali spent 24 years with Kotak Group. His last position at Kotak Mahindra Bank was of Senior Executive Vice President, overseeing consumer banking retail asset products including home loans, loan against property, credit cards, salaried personnel loans and SME loans.

Previously he also held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Kotak Mahindra Prime Ltd (KMPL) and also was a Director on KMPL’s Board. He began his career with Glaxo India Limited in 1990, and has also worked with Asian Paints (I) Ltd. Mr Bali is a seasoned banker with an experience of 28 years in the Indian corporate sector.

The RBAG is the key driver at YES BANK for granular assets and comprises 7 distinct Business Units. The unit has been specifically created to harmonize intergroup synergies, achieve Financial Inclusion, penetrate the F&A sector (lending in the entire value chain as well as strategic advisory & research) and participate in the growth of the MSME segment.

Sumit is part of the Executive Management Team at YES BANK. As a part of the initial YES BANK start up team (since 2004), he was instrumental in establishing the Commercial Banking (CB) in YES BANK. He has also been responsible for developing YES BANK’s Knowledge Management practice for some of the key sectors like Gems & Jewellery, Auto-components, Media & Entertainment and Logistics.

Prior to joining YES BANK, Sumit was an Associate Director with Rabo India (subsidiary of Rabobank, Netherlands). He has over 22 years of experience in various capacities in leading organizations such as Standard Chartered Bank, CRISIL and Maruti Suzuki India Limited. Sumit holds an MBA Degree in Finance from IIM Calcutta and is a B.Tech (Mechanical) from IIT Delhi.

Sumit worked with Oracle India before starting CommonFloor.com along with two of his friends. CommonFloor became the largest real estate portal dedicated to apartments and gated communities. Post acquisition of CommonFloor by Quikr, Sumit has been driving growth at Quikr. Sumit holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from IIT Roorkee.
