Shantanu Rastogi, Managing Director, General Atlantic
Shantanu Rastogi is a Managing Director at General Atlantic’s Mumbai office and focuses on investments in the Financial Services, Healthcare, and Retail & Consumer sectors in India & Asia-Pacific.
Prior to joining General Atlantic, Shantanu was a Principal at Apax Partners. Previously Shantanu was a consultant at McKinsey & Company in Mumbai. He is on the Board of ‘House of Anita Dongre’, ‘IIIFL Wealth & Asset Mgmt’ and Absolute Barbecue Pvt. Ltd.
Shantanu graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (Bombay) and completed his M.B.A. at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Shantanu Roy is presently heading BEML Ltd.’s Delhi Office as Executive Director and is responsible for International Business Division, Strategy & New initiatives, Coordination and northern region operations for all the three business verticals (Defence, Mining & Construction, and Rail & Metro). An Electrical Engineering Graduate from NIT Raipur and an MBA in Financial Management, he is having more than 29 years of extensive experience in the capital goods sectors for Defence, Mining & Construction, Transportation, Transmission, Renewable and large power projects involving the entire gamut of Business Operations including Marketing, Strategic Business Planning ,Brand Management & Positioning, Contracts Management, Project Management, Manufacturing Operations & Planning, Procurement & Operations, Logistic Management, Vendor Development, Team Management, Business Excellence & TQM activities. He is a speaker / panelist at CII, Exim Bank, Rail and EEPC seminars.
A Six sigma Black Belt certified professional and widely traveled , he is adept at various models of project financing, mechanisms and processes for financial closure of large projects, international laws, arbitration rules, international legal & arbitration cases and statutory & Legal Compliances and has undergone training on leadership and strategic alliances from IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad respectively.
In his earlier stint as Head of BHEL's Marketing and Business Development team for Neighboring countries, Middle East & Americas and After sales business for entire overseas operations , he was responsible for positioning BHEL in the international market for the supercritical thermal power segment with the largest ever export order of US$ 1.5 billion for the 2X660 MW Maitree STPP in Bangladesh, further consolidation of BHEL’s presence in Bhutan by securing orders for three major Hydroelectric Power Project and entry of BHEL in subcritical thermal power segment and large Gas Turbine based power plant in the Middle East. Prior to that, he lead the production and operations for manufacturing of high voltage rotating electrical machines and traction applications at BHEL’s Bhopal Unit and underwent Training on Rolling Stock electrics and rotating electrical machines in Netherlands and Germany respectively.

Shantanu Surpure, Managing Attorney, Sand Hill Counsel
Shantanu Surpure is Managing Attorney at Sand Hill Counsel, a law firm with offices in Mumbai and Silicon Valley. Shantanu focuses on venture capital and private equity transactions and has extensive experience in representing venture capital and private equity funds in fund formations and venture capital and private equity financings in addition to representing emerging and public companies in venture capital and private equity financings, mergers and acquisitions and public offerings. Shantanu has a special focus on cross-border India-US transactions and has previously practiced law with large US law firms in Silicon Valley.
Shantanu holds a BA from Brown University/London School of Economics, an MA Juris from Oxford University and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School. Shantanu is admitted to practice law in India, California, New York and England and Wales. Shantanu is a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and is active in mentoring entrepreneurs and start-up companies in developing the Silicon Valley "ecosystem" in India. Shantanu is also a founder director of the Mumbai Angels, which is an initiative for organized angel investing in India.

Sharad Abhyankar, Solicitor & Advocate joined M&A and Corporate Advisory Practice of Khaitan & Co, Mumbai Office in December 2011. Practising for more than 28 years, Sharad specialises in corporate laws, securities laws, anti-trust laws, telecom regulations, constitutional litigation and international commercial arbitrations. He advises Indian and international clients on strategic M&As, private equity investments, capital market transactions, financing transactions, domestic and cross-border foreign collaborations and joint ventures, foreign exchange and securities law related matters.
Sharad has led the merger of housing finance companies with public sector banks and has advised on issues on complex regulatory issues relating to mergers and acquisitions in financial services sector.
Sharad has led many complex legal due diligence assignments of Indian Corporate Groups for compliance check, health check, particularly focussed on Promoter Groups, Related Party Transactions; tunnelling schemes by promoters and Key Managerial Personnel and insider trading.
Sharad has also led preparation of compliance manuals on Indian federal and state laws for Indian Corporate Groups with international operations.
Sharad is also involved in facilitating different government agencies in framing policies and regulations such as the State Education Board in Maharashtra, Department of Telecommunications, ICASA - the Telecom Regulator in Republic of South Africa. Sharad also led the project of developing the Model Shops & Establishments Law in association with FICCI, which was recently adopted by the Union Cabinet.
Sharad Abhyankar is an Independent Director on a few listed and unlisted Indian companies and has been a part-time faculty on various legal subjects at the Government Law College, Mumbai, for more than 25 years.
Sharad is a member of the Advisory Committee and Drafting Committee of the NSE Center for Excellence in Corporate Governance. He has authored several articles on a variety of legal topics in both, Indian and International journals and is often invited as a speaker/ panellist at a number of professional seminars.

Sharad Agarwal, CEO, Sify Infinit Spaces Ltd.
Sharad Agarwal takes over the mantle of the Chief Executive Officer of Sify Infinit Spaces Limited, wholly owned subsidiary of Sify Technologies Limited topping a diverse career path with 28+ years of consistent growth. A decade of it was spent in Technology Implementation, Professional Services and Consulting and close to two decades in management; among them finding solutions to complex problems at multi-billion dollars scale at high double-digit growth rate.
Sharad moves into this role on the strength of his technopreneurship across several domains like ecommerce, logistics, retail, Cloud and Data Center. An active industry veteran, he comes equipped with a combination of sales and project management skills that will help him expand the footprint and acceptance of Sify’s data centers. He is active on the industry front, scripting the narrative between the industry and the regulatory and also a committed advocate of the use of renewables in the Data Center business.
Prior to Sify, Sharad was at Vantage, where he was mandated to build their Data Center business. This was preceded by a long stint at Amazon Web Services where he front-ended capacity delivery for an APAC region.

Sharad Bhatia, Managing Director, Multiples Alternate Asset Management
Sharad has over 39 years of experience in the financial services industry, including the last 18 years in the area of distressed debt. He worked in various capacities with ICICI group, Kotak Mahindra group and Axis Bank and is presently Managing Director at Multiples Alternate Asset Management Private Ltd, where he leads the Stressed Assets team. Before joining Multiples, he served as President-Stressed Assets at Axis Bank and as CEO at Phoenix ARC Private Limited.
He has served on the Boards of several leading corporates and is a regular speaker on issues relating to distressed debt and asset reconstruction.
Sharad is a chemical engineer with a postgraduate degree in business management. He also attended the AMP at Insead, France.
