Sudhir Kamath, Director, Brand Capital

Sudhir graduated from Birla Institute of Technology & Science in Pilani where he obtained his Masters of Management Studies. Additionally he has a Doctoral Fellowship in Management with specialization in finance from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.

Sudhir has worked as the Managing Director, for 2i Capital, from 2006 till 2010. He has over 20 years of private equity/venture capital experience in India. He has also had successful stints at ICICI ventures and at Global Technology ventures, the PE arm of the Café Coffee day group, where he led and managed investments as Vice President Investments. Being one of the earliest Private Equity professionals in the country he has had the opportunity of working with some of the largest and well-structured Private Equity funds in India. He has been at the forefront of PE investing in the Small and Medium Enterprise sector in areas such as Telecom and Technology, Manufacturing (including automotive and capital goods), Biotechnology, and Energy/Infrastructure.

He has also served on the Boards of over 20 companies across sectors, as well as on the Investment Committees of all the funds he was involved with. At Brand Capital he will lead and oversee operations across the south region and shall be based in Bangalore. Sudhir is married with two children and resides in Indiranagar, Bangalore.


Sudhir Sethi, Founder Chairman & MD, IDG Ventures India Advisors

Sudhir is Founder & Chairman of IDG Ventures India Advisors. He specializes in identifying disruptive high growth technology firms with a strong leadership team, and helps them grow rapidly with an eye for outsized financial returns.

Since 1998, Sudhir and his team have advised on investments into 60 firms across Digital Consumer, Enterprise Software and Healthcare Sectors. Key investments include FlipKart (India’s leading e-Commerce player), Myntra (Fashion & Sports e-Commerce), Manthan (a global Analytics product play), Perfint (a global leader in image guided oncology), Aujas (a global security firm), Newgen (a global software product leader that had a successful IPO in India in Jan.2018), Yatra (a leading Online Travel Company that listed in NASDAQ in Jan.2017) and Mindtree Consulting. Other Portfolio includes Lenskart, Zivame, amongst others.

In 2001, Sudhir was recognized by Red Herring as one of the leading venture capitalists in the country. He has been named among the Top Ten IT Professionals by Dataquest and by Bloomberg UTV as ‘’Visionary Venture Capitalist” in 2011. Sudhir has been featured in Subroto Bagchi’s book ‘’Zen Garden – Conversations with Pathmakers’’, in 2014.

In addition to leading IDG Ventures India Advisors, Sudhir serves on the Asia Advisory Board of EMPEA (Emerging Markets Private Equity Association) and as Advisor on the Technology Innovation and Productivity Council of the GMR Group. He also served on the Executive Committee of Indian Venture Capital Association (IVCA), Investment Committee of UTI Ventures, on the Board of Ascent Capital, Advisory Board of Westbridge Capital and on the Board of Advisors at N.S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurship, IIM Bangalore. With over 30 years of experience Sudhir has served at various leadership positions at HCL, Wipro and Cyient, as well as Country Head of Walden International India.

Sudhir holds a B.Tech in Engineering and an MBA Degree from FMS, Delhi. His interests include wild life photography.


Sudhir Variyar, Managing Director, Multiples Alternate Asset Management Private Limited

Sudhir is a founding partner with Multiples Alternate Asset Management Private Limited, a leading Indian mid-market private equity fund. He has over two decades of experience in financial services of which the last ten years has been in private equity. He has a strong investment track record and has lead investments across a wide range of sectors including financial services, health care and infrastructure services. Prior to private equity he has experience across investment banking, lending and structured finance.


Sudip Bandyopadhyay, MD & CEO, Destimoney Securities Pvt Ltd

Sudip Bandyopadhyay is currently the Managing Director and CEO of Destimoney Securities, a full service financial organisation, promoted by New Silk Route – an Asia focused growth capital private equity firm with over $1.4 billion under management.  Sudip is also the non-executive Chairman of Wall Street Finance Ltd. and director in other listed and unlisted domestic companies.

Sudip is a qualified Chartered and a Cost Accountant. He has over 25 years of rich & diverse experience in various areas of financial services. He has worked with reputed organizations like Reliance (ADA Group), ITC, ICI and HLL.

Sudip was the Managing Director of Reliance Money and was also on the Board of several Reliance ADAG Group Companies since May 2005. He was instrumental in leading Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group's foray, amongst others, into Equity & Commodity Broking, Financial Products Distribution, Commodity Exchanges, Gold Coin Retailing, Money Changing and Money Transfer. Under his leadership, Reliance Money had aggressively expanded its footprint in India and across the globe.  Sudip was also responsible for the acquisition of AMP Sanmar through which Reliance launched its Life Insurance business.

During Sudip's 16 years stint with ITC as head of Treasury and Strategic Investments, he managed investments in excess of $1.5 billion.  He was responsible for the acquisition of strategic stakes in EIH, VST and several other companies by ITC.


Sujan Hajra, Chief Economist, Executive Director, Institutional Equity, Anand Rathi Securities

Sujan Hajra joined the Anand Rathi Group in 2006 and is currently the Executive Director, Chief Economist of the Group. He also heads the research team of Institutional Equity. He previously worked with the Reserve Bank of India for 16 years. The last post he held at the Reserve Bank was Director, Department of Economic Analysis & Policy.

The Institutional Investor poll rates Sujan as one of the top economists in India and within the top 20 in Asia (excluding Japan). Before joining the Reserve Bank of India, Sujan was a Research Fellow of the University Grant Commission (UGC) and was declared National Scholar twice.

Sujan has been a part of various official Committees and Groups and represented India and the Reserve Bank of India at various national and international forums including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the United Nations Commission on Trade & Development (UNCTAD), the World Bank and the World Trade Organisation (WTO). He led the Indian delegates at the inaugural conference of Young Economists with the Nobel Prize Winners in Economics.

Sujan is the author of a book (Re-emerging India: A Global Perspective) and over 20 technical articles on economics and finance in referred national and international journals. He is an M. Phil in International Trade & Development and M.A. in Economics, from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.


Sujan Sinha, MD & CEO, Shriram Housing Finance Ltd

Sujan Sinha is a senior professional in the financial services industry, especially in the retail side of it, having spent more than 30 years in various banks and financial institutions, after joining SBI as a Probationary Officer in 1981. Prior to joining the Shriram Group as the Managing Director & C.E.O. of Shriram Housing Finance Limited in November 2010, he was one of the important members of the core retail team of Axis Bank (erstwhile UTI Bank), setting up and heading the retail lending business of the bank, including the retail mortgage business, for more than 7 years.

 

He had been involved with various other retail initiatives of the bank and had served as the bank's nominee on the boards of NBFCs in which Axis Bank had financial stake.  Shriram Housing Finance Limited, a subsidiary of the Shriram group's flagship company, Shriram City Union Finance Ltd., is the most recent addition to the group's stables and has just completed a full year's business. In this short span of time Shriram Housing has been able to set up more than 43 branches spread across 14 states of the country and with more than 200 employees on its rolls. 


Sujatha Mohan, Head - Digital and New Initiatives, RBL Bank

Sujatha Mohan, Head - Digital and New Initiatives has 26 years of experience in various industries, including banking and finance. She is responsible for making RBL Bank the partner of choice for its unique Open Bank and Platform strategies that facilitate technologically advanced end-to-end banking services. She provides leadership and direction in creating technology architecture, business orientation, process management and strong customer service in digital banking services.

Sujatha is a key enabler of the technology transformation of RBL Bank. She helped to set up key tech-driven systems that earned the bank many awards and accolades, including Asian Banker Award (2013 and 2015) and IBA Best IT Team Award, to name a few.

Prior to joining RBL Bank, Sujatha worked in various capacities at Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd (erstwhile iflex solutions), ANZ Grindlays Bank and SHCIL. She is an expert on multiple areas of banking, including emerging digital technologies.


Sujay Kalele, CEO, Kolte Patil Developers Limited

Sujay Kalele currently holds dual responsibility in Kolte Patil Developers Ltd (KPDL). At a group level, he is responsible for conceptualization & product development of various projects, leading the marketing function of the organization and driving new business initiatives.

Additionally, he also heads Kolte-Patil Real Estate Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of KPDL which is executing  a 2.2 million square feet mixed use development in Eastern Pune.

Before joining Kolte Patil, Sujay worked with Jones Lang LaSalle India as vice president capital markets where he was primarily responsible for servicing fund raising needs of real estate developers in the Western Indian markets of Mumbai, Pune and other Tier II markets.

Sujay holds a post graduate degree in Management with specialization in Analytical Finance and Strategy from The Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and Bachelor of Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Pune.

Sujayath Ali is the Co-Founder and CEO of Voonik, the leader in the unbranded fashion category with an annual GMV rate of over 120 Million USD. It has over 20 Million registered users, with 18 Million app downloads. Voonik has built deep technology to enable personalization that made it the most engaging ecommerce app in India. On the supply side, it has over 15 Lakh products from more than 25,000 sellers. Voonik has a highly scalable ‘lean’ marketplace business model where it operates without inventory and fulfilment centers.

Before Voonik, Sujayath was a Senior Business Leader at Visa. Prior to this, he was associated with Amazon.com as their Senior Product Manager. He started his career as a Senior Software Development Engineer with iNautix Technology. He is distinguishable for being the creator of the first of its kind flagship products in his professional tenure before turning entrepreneur.

An MBA from the Indian School of Business, he also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering.
