S Dilli Raj, CFO, SKS Microfinance Ltd

Dilli Raj has 23 years of experience in corporate finance, treasury, policy advocacy and corporate tax planning. He has consummated joint venture deals with global giants. He has done his Masters in Business Administration from the Central University of Pondicherry.

He joined SKS in January 2008 and introduced mainstream financial products into microfinance. He has prepared SKS for its IPO by strengthening the financial system and by automating accounting and cash management processes. He played a lead role in managing SKS’ IPO in August 2010, which was oversubscribed 13.6 times.

Dilli Raj had a strategic role in SKS' turnaround and managing the AP MFI crisis by focusing on cash flow management, cost structure optimization and gaining the confidence of credit grantors. He lead managed SKS’ QIP issue in July 2012. Dilli Raj has led the policy advocacy efforts which have resulted in a more conducive environment for the MFIs and largely mitigated the regulatory risk. He is a member of the financial inclusion committee of FICCI. 


S Durgashankar, Executive VP - Mergers & Acquisitions, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd

Durga is a Chartered Accountant by training. He joined Mahindra in 1997 and has held various important positions, including Treasurer and Senior Vice President – Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). In June 2009, Durga joined Mahindra Satyam as CFO, where he provided critical leadership in setting up systems and processes in Finance, Accounts, Treasury, and Commercial Operations in addition to tackling multiple complex matters like recasting the accounts for the past several years and handling legal cases.

 

He also successfully completed his mandate of ensuring that the Company became current with respect to its IGAAP filings. In April 2011, he was made the Executive Vice President – M&A for the Group, and given the additional responsibility of overseeing the Secretarial function and BPO operations of the company.

S. Balasubramaniam, CFO, Zensar Technologies

S. Balasubramaniam aka Suby, has over 28 years experience in Finance and Commercial functions. He graduated in Commerce from St.Xavier's College, Calcutta in 1978 and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and an Associate Member of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India. He started his career in Dunlop India Limited and then moved on to successful stints in senior positions with diverse range of exposure to industries from Polyester, Plantations, and Pharmaceuticals and has signifcant experience in handling the challenges of the Financial Management and operating efficiences in demanding envoirnments. He joined Zensar as its Chief Financial Officer in Oct 2005 and has been part of the core team ever since then.

Outside Finance, he loves meeting people and public speaking on a diverse range of subjects and lists Technology,Economics, Hindustani Classical Music and Reading, as his interests.

S. G. Shyam Sundar, Sr MD, IDFC

Shyam has over 14 years of experience in the Indian infrastructure sector. He began his career as an investment banker with ICICI Securities (ICICI's investment banking JV with JP Morgan) handling private equity placement, debt syndication and M&A related deals in the energy and telecom sectors. Subsequently, he moved to the Infrastructure group of ICICI Bank and after that to Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC), to undertake project finance activities in the telecom sector. He joined IDFC Private Equity in its formative days and has made over 11 investments in a range of infrastructure sectors - power, telecom, oil&gas, roads, ports, airports, shipping and logistics. In the last 5 years, he led 3 successful IPOs of his portfolio companies - GMR, GSPL and Ashoka.

He was a member of CII National Committee on Transport and Infrastructure Committee of Bombay Chamber of Commerce. Currently, he is a member of CII National Committee on Shipping.

Shyam received an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, and a BE (Mechanical) from Anna University, Chennai. Shyam is married and has a 4 year old daughter. He is an avid cricket fan and opens the bowling for IDFC's cricket team at local tournaments.


S. Harikrishnan, Partner, Avigo Capital Partners

S. Harikrishnan is Partner in Avigo Capital Partners and heads the fund's Mumbai Office. Hari has more than 14 years of diversified experience in Investments, Capital markets and Manufacturing. Before Avigo, Hari was with Wall Street firm Lazard advising Emerging Market PE Fund for 2 years. Before moving to Lazard, Hari was part of the founding team of UTI Ventures and was with that firm for more than eight years. Hari has particularly focused on tracking and analyzing sectors undergoing rapid development such as consumer retail, infrastructure services, niche manufacturing, life sciences, media and alternative energy. In last 11 years in Private Equity Hari was closely involved with 20 cross-sector PE transactions of which majority of them in Infrastructure and consumer sector. Harikrishnan is a qualified Engineer and MBA.


S. M. Sundaram, Partner & Chief Financial Officer, Baring Private Equity Partners India

Sundaram is a Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Baring Private Equity Partners India with over 20 years of professional experience.  Prior to Baring, he was the Group CFO of Cybernet-SlashSupport (CSS), a leading IT Services company headquartered in San Jose, California with operations in about 10 countries. He was part of the management team which helped in scaling up CSS from a start-up to about US$ 70 million curently.  At CSS, Sundaram was responsible for the entire Finance & Accounting function, M&A strategy, corporate planning, fund raising and enhancing shareholders’ wealth.  In addition to being the CFO, he was also the Chief Legal and Risk Officer for all group companies.

Till 2000, Sundaram was also part of the senior management team at the Sanmar Group, one of India’s large and highly respected industrial houses.  A significant part of his 11-year stint with the Sanmar Group was in a key role as Executive Assistant to the group’s Chairman. He started his career as a Senior Executive with the TVS Group, one of India’s largest and oldest industrial groups.

Sundaram is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, Cost Accountant and Corporate Secretary and also holds a MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.  Over the years, he has been a visiting professor at the Institute of Chartered Accountants and an Academic Advisor to the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts in India. He is also a keen sports enthusiast and an avid quizzer.
