Sanjay Swamy, Managing Partner, Prime Venture Partners

Sanjay is well known for his founding role at ZipDial (now acquired by Twitter) and his role at mChek, the path breaking startup in secure payments, Sanjay has trodden the path of an entrepreneur all through his career. After completing his bachelor's degree in engineering, Sanjay headed to Paris where he earned his Master's degree.

After a stint at Xerox PARC in Palo Alto, Sanjay embarked on a journey to build world class teams and products that took him through startups like Ketera and Portal Software, mChek, Zipdial & Ezetap which he co?founded in 2010.

An active member of the community, Sanjay is a Rotarian and a charter member of TiE, a volunteer at iSPIRT, and organizes the Fintech Panel at the Nasscom Product Conclave. He also played a prominent role on the UIDAI project under the leadership of Nandan Nilekani. He is a frequent speaker and evangelist in the entrepreneurship and payments circuits in the country.

Sanjay Swamy, Former Volunteer, UIDAI

Sanjay Swamy is an Indian technologist. He is a mobile technology expert presently working with the Government of India's UIDAI. He was the CEO of mobile company mChek, a mobile security and payments solutions company.

Sanjay Swamy worked in the US before moving to India in 2004. 2004 he started building ketera india operations, then he became the CEO of mChek in 2006 and under his leadership mChek signed up several major banks, including ICICI, State Bank of India, Citibank, Visa and mobile telecom carriers AirTel & Tata as partners to bring his service to market. And he helped expand the company's operations to Sri Lanka in a partnership with Dialog.

He worked with mChek for four years before moving to UIDAI in March 2010 where he is working on the Mobile Strategy. He completed his degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Bangalore University in 1987. He later went to "Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace" and completed a degree in Avionics & Control Systems Engineering in 1989. Later he received his MS from University of Washington, Seattle in 1992.

Sanjay is a serial entrepreneur with deep experience in the payments industry. Sanjay is a Managing Partner of Angel Prime and one of the co-founders of Ezetap.

After completing his bachelor's degree in engineering, Sanjay headed to Paris where he learned to cuss fluently in French, while getting a Master's degree, one of which proved to be more invaluable than the other over time. A stint at Xerox PARC in Palo Alto provided a moment of epiphany and it's fair to say that things have never been to same since. Bitten by the desire to create, Sanjay embarked on a journey to build world beating teams and products that took him through startups like Ketera and Portal Software, mChek and Zipdial, which he co-founded in 2010.

Sanjay Tibrewala, CEO , Phoenix ARC Private Limited

Sanjay has over 25 years of diverse post qualification experience in the area of Finance having worked in manufacturing industry, travel services and banking and financial services. The last 12 of this has been with Phoenix ARC Pvt. Ltd, a leading ARC in India, initially as Chief Financial Officer, and currently as Chief Executive Officer.

Sanjay was a part of the initial team of Phoenix and has witnessed and influenced the changes the industry has gone through in the past decade. He has been actively involved in the entire gamut of distressed assets business; restructuring of distressed companies, resolution of NPAs through negotiations / legal means and also in acquiring portfolios and single assets from various banks and Financial Institutions all over India. 

Sanjay is a commerce graduate and a Chartered Accountant. He is also a Company Secretary and a Cost Accountant.

Sanjay Vakharia, Director and COO, Spykar Lifestyles Pvt Ltd | @Spykarlifestyle

Mr. Sanjay Vakharia is the Director  & COO of Spykar Lifestyle Private Ltd. & has been part of the original team who founded Spykar in 1992. Prior to joining Spykar, he worked with Magna Publications as the Export Manager (Garments) wherein he was responsible for setting up the marketing network in the US & UK markets. Additionally, he served as Marketing Manager for Toys & Games division of the Magna group. in 1990, he set up the Jeanswear Brand RAGZ, in partnership with a few friends.

His sharp business acumen saw him rise from overseeing product development and Marketing to being the COO. He has played a key role in the overall Marketing & Brand Communication strategies at Spykar.

Under the astute direction of Mr. Vakharia, Spykar has set up a robust distribution platform across the length and breadth of the country spanning EBO’s, LFR’s, MBO’s, and online sales. Besides online, Spykar has over 2000 points of Sales across 300 towns and cities of the country.

Sanjay Vijayakumar, CEO, MobME

As CEO, Sanjay is responsible for setting the strategy and direction for MobME as well as building and managing a high-performance team of young professionals. An entrepreneur at heart even as a student, Sanjay along with a few of his friends was instrumental in founding Torque the most recognized young startup in Kerala and then successfully spinning off and launching MobME as a new company. For the past two years Sanjay has been fully immersed in building MobME into a very exciting new venture. As an excellent marketer and communicator at heart Sanjay splits his time between spreading the MobME vision (at times playing the role of CMO) as well as fund-raising and performing business development as the CEO.

Sanjeev Agarwal, CEO, Gitanjali Exports Corporation Ltd

Mr. Sanjeev Agarwal, an Management Graduate, has a unique combination of experience encompassing FMCG, Banking & Finance and the Luxury Retail Sectors.

Starting his career with Unilevers handling Sales, Distribution and New Product launches, Mr Agarwal moved to Cadburys to handle Marketing & Brand Management. He then moved to Deutsche Bank and worked with them for over 14 years and was instrumental in setting-up the Retail & Private Banking Business of Deutsche Bank (DB) in India as the Director - Retail & Private Banking. During his stint with DB he had been acknowledged for having launched a number of innovative investment products.

He then moved to World Gold Council as Managing Director – India-subcontinent - where he conceptualized and launched a number of Gold Jewellery brands such as “Collection g”, “Gold Expressions” & “Bollywood Gold”. His most important contribution has been identifying & developing a new “gold buying day – Aksaya Tirthay” resulting in a increase in gold purchases by over 40 tons during this auspicious day from a level of 3-4 tons, within a span of 4 years from the date of launch. He also developed the concept of retailing of gold coins through the branches of the Banks in India, as well as the launch of the Gold Mutual Fund in India.

At Gitanjali Group, Mr Agarwal is spearheading a number of new business initiatives covering both the domestic and the international markets. The most recent innovating in the area of jewellery retail being the launch of a Gold & Diamond ATM machine.

Mr Agarwal Is an active member of a number of Associations & Trade Body and is a Member of the FICCI – Gems & Jewellery Group. He is also the Chairman of Indo-Armenia Business Council. He has also received the ‘Niyat Shree Gold Award’ from the President of India in 2012. 

Sanjeev Aggarwal, Senior Managing Director, Helion Advisors Private Limited | @HelionVC

Sanjeev Aggarwal is a co-founder of Helion and has served on the Boards of MakeMyTrip and Unitedlex. He is currently on the Boards of IndiaHomes, Azure Power, Amba Research, Eye-Q and ShopClues. Prior to Helion, Sanjeev was the Founder and CEO of Daksh, having been with the company from its inception in 2000 to its acquisition by IBM in 2004. Sanjeev ran the company as its CEO till June 2006. Daksh was a pioneer in BPO sector in year 2000 and had over 20,000 employees by June, 2006. During this period, Daksh was rated as the World's Best Managed BPO company (Black Book of Outsourcing) and was ranked as the #1 employer in Indian BPO market by IDC. Sanjeev was chosen "Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year" in 2002.

Prior to founding Daksh, he worked for 15 years with leading technology companies serving the domestic Indian market. Sanjeev led the Strategic Initiatives at Motorola India. He worked with Digital Equipment Corporation in delivering technology solutions and was recognized as the "Decathlon Winner", a recognition given to top 1% managers worldwide. He also served as the CEO of 3COM India.
