Kumar Ashish, General Manager, ICICI Bank

Kumar Ashish is an MBA from Mumbai University. Before his management degree, he did post graduation in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University. He has also completed the OD Certificate program with the NTL Institute, USA and is a certified Organisation Development facilitator.

He is currently a general manager and Country Head of ICICI Bank’s Rural Micro-Banking and Agriculture Business Group. He has been working with ICICI, since 1999, in a variety of jobs viz. Treasury, Merchant Banking, Retail Assets & Liabilities, Agriculture Loans and Corporate Finance. He was responsible for the growth of ICICI Bank’s SME business, from April 2003 to March 2007, where he managed Transaction Banking, Treasury & Trade Finance solutions and Business Loans to SMEs, as head of the Bank’s Business Banking Group.

He began his career in 1994 and has rich experience in marketing and branch management in FMCG and Retail Financial Services industry, before joining the ICICI group in Nov 1999.

In his current profile, he is responsible for
(i) banking solutions to the entire agriculture value chain viz. Farmers, SMEs & Large Agri Companies
(ii) consumer loans to rural India
(iii) Micro Finance and
(iv) Financial Inclusion through Micro-Banking.

A journalist who knows the pulse of the social, political and economic fabric of Maharashtra and a scholar of the same on the global front. Kumar Ketkar is active in journalism for last 40 years. He had started his journalistic career with Economics Times. He has worked with The Observer, Maharashtra Times, Loksatta as a editor. Kumar Ketkar has also got the prestigious Padmashri award for his journalistic work.

Mr. Kumar Shah leads the strategy and investment program at Micromax. He is responsible for actively sourcing and partnering with companies from major technology markets across the world that align with Micromax’s long-term strategy.

Prior to joining Micromax, Kumar worked with a global growth stage private equity firm and helped build out their South Asia fund and investment strategy. He also has additional experience working with an early stage VC firm, a technology consulting firm and bulge bracket investment bank.

Kumar has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Mumbai and a MBA from the Wharton School.

Kumar Sharadindu, Managing Director & CEO, SBI Pension Funds

Mr. Kumar Sharadindu took charge as MD & CEO of the Company on 30.12.2016 is of the rank of CGM in SBI. Previously, Mr. Kumar was General Manager at SBI Corporate Centre, Mumbai heading private equity business of the Bank. He joined SBI as Probationary Officer in 1984. He has held several crucial assignments in his banking career spanning more than 30 years. He has held key positions in the areas of credit, treasury, Risk and large corporate lending. He spent more than five years in treasury of the bank. He was also the head of Market Risk department of SBI. Before coming to Private Equity, he was head of the Mid Corporate Group in Chandigarh Region. By qualification, he has done Masters in Physics.

Kumar is part of the leadership team at Kalaari Capital.  He enjoys investing in and working with technology focused entrepreneurs looking to build successful companies out of India. Teaming with dynamic entrepreneurs working on interesting technologies and business models to address various market needs, he feels is thrilling.  Some of the current and past companies he has been associated with as an investor include Attero, Basiz, Germin8, Hands Free Network, Robosoft, Visionary RCM, Vyome, Deccanet, Tejas Neworks NIIT, Sharekhan and Sasken.

Prior to joining Kalaari, Kumar was the head of Intel Capital India. As the Country Director, he drove Intel’s India investments and successfully executed and managed its investments and exits. Prior to Intel, Kumar was co-founder and COO of Lytek Corporation in Arizona. Earlier, he worked at Motorola in various areas ranging from technology development to corporate strategy and investments. After completing his electronics and communications engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology (formerly KREC), Karnataka, he served at Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE) in Bangalore from 1984-85. He received his PhD and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Arizona State University and an MBA from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management. He has published over 60 papers in international journals and conferences and has issued 23 US patents. He is a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a Charter Member of TiE Bangalore.
