Udai Dhawan, MD & India Head, Standard Chartered Private Equity

Udai is a Managing Director with Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE) and joined to fund in 2008. Prior to that, he worked for over a decade in financial services focused on corporate investing, M&A and corporate finance, both in India and the United States. Udai’s roles have included Senior Vice President at Kotak Mahindra Capital where he led energy and transportation investment banking, Director of Corporate Development at Sabre Inc. where he led corporate investments of over USD 1 BN, and as a Consultant with Arthur Andersen in the corporate finance and tax practices. Udai has an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.


Uday Kumar, Chairman, Annamalai Foods Private Limited / Nalas Aappakadai

Coming from an agricultural family, Udayakumar constantly reflected traits of an entrepreneur. A business enthusiast right from childhood, he has always had the urge to become a successful entrepreneur, or more so, it was in his blood.

He successfully completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Chennai while simultaneously working part time jobs. On completion of his education, he commenced work in the hospitality industry in the year 1980 displaying a candid adaptability and a total of commitment in the field.  

First major engagement was with Radhakrishna Hospitality Services one of the largest Hospitality Companies in India. Owing to an unmitigated sense of commitment and unrestrained initiative, progressed within the Group to the post of Group Financial Controller. In this capacity, operated across Europe, Africa, Middle East and South East Asia covering varied segments viz.  remote sites including UN projects in war torn Rwanda , Kenya, Egypt Oil field, Power Projects, Expatriate Housing Colonies, Manufacturing hubs, Healthcare, Educational Institutions, Corporate Offices.

With this experience under the belt, co-founded Epicurean Enterprises Pvt Ltd a Hospitality/ Facility Management Company.  This entrepreneurial venture brought into play excellent Man Management skills and articulated ambitions to spread across the country in a structured and professional manner.  Over the years in the same industry, gained a thorough knowledge of competitors landscape

As of April 2009 the Company was acquired by the world’s # 1 Food Service Company - Compass Group PLC.  Thereupon he assumed the role of Country Managing Director of Compass India, overseeing company’s activities through a Leadership Team.  Through organic growth and the process of acquisitions, the Company’s turnover has grown to 230 crores in a short span.

The key attributes of this position include wide international exposure, specialized training programmes in Accounting and Op1erating Values, adoption of global best practices, monitoring 250+ sites across the country, handling staff strength of 5000+ without IR issues.

Past experience and a continuous zest for learning has brought to the fore the comprehensive knowledge of taxation and statutory compliances

In 2013, He has moved out and acquired chain of restaurants brand called Nalaas which was 11 in India & 3 in Overseas (London, Paris & Abudhabi)

A Digital Industry veteran and Ex-Business Head, Digital at Sony Pictures, Uday has invested in over 35 tech startups in the last 7 years. His preferred sectors are Enterprise Tech, Deep tech, SAAS, Space tech and Automation.

Aiming to help countless small businesses overcome the hurdle of access to formal credit, ePayLater strives to empower retailers with the power of technology. With over a decade of experience in multiple areas of banking, capital markets, risk consulting and credit tech with industry leaders Uday embarked on the journey of bringing BNPL to India. Prior to beginning his professional career, Uday earned an engineering degree from JNTU in Hyderabad and an MBA from the Management Development Institute in Gurgaon (MDI)

Ullas Kamath, Joint Managing Director, Jyothy Laboratories Limited

Ullas Kamath has been promoted as the Joint Managing Director from January 2012. A qualified Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary, he has topped it with a Degree in Law and has attended the Advanced Management Programme at Wharton Business School and Harvard Business School. It is under his leadership that the company has diversified and become a multi product FMCG company. He has spearheaded the successful setting up of Fabric Spa and the Henkel acquisition.

Won CA Business Achiver Award - SME category in ICAI Awards 2008 on January 25, 2009.


Uma R Krishnan, CEO, Barclays Shared Services

Prior to joining Barclays, Ms. Uma Krishnan worked in commercial roles for ANZ Grindlays Bank, HDFC Bank and more recently RBS in India and the UK. She also had a brief entrepreneurial stint as CEO of a Business Services start up for a financial services technology company. Ms. Krishnan started her professional life as a diplomat with the Indian Foreign Service. Ms. Krishnan combines strong customer and commercial skills with Operations & Technology Management. She has been a part of senior leadership teams over many years in India and the UK and has worked across functions and geographies. She holds a degree in Business Management in Finance and Marketing from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore. Ms. Krishnan is engaged with and contributes to industry forums like Nasscom, Diversity & Inclusion forums. In addition to being a full time Director on the board of Barclays Shared Services India, she is an independent Director of Take Solutions Limited and Chennai Metro Rail. Ms. Uma Krishnan is a strong champion of diversity and supports initiatives to develop women in leadership.


Uma Talreja, Director Strategy, Raymond Ltd

Uma Talreja recently joined Raymond Ltd as the Head of Strategy for the lifestyle business. She also leads customer centricity initiatives for Raymond as a part of her role and is also responsible for digital transformation and e-commerce and CRM

Her passion lies in unearthing strategic customer insights and using those across functions to create sharp and relevant programs for customers. She has also managed and grown loyalty programs at each of the businesses to contribute to a large portion of the business.

As is a passionate retail and digital marketing enthusiast, she has led marketing for leading retail brands in India including Shopper’s Stop, Westside from the Tata Group and retail formats from the Aditya Birla Group, and was responsible for the launch of Burger King in India
