Uma R Krishnan, CEO, Barclays Shared Services

Prior to joining Barclays, Ms. Uma Krishnan worked in commercial roles for ANZ Grindlays Bank, HDFC Bank and more recently RBS in India and the UK. She also had a brief entrepreneurial stint as CEO of a Business Services start up for a financial services technology company. Ms. Krishnan started her professional life as a diplomat with the Indian Foreign Service. Ms. Krishnan combines strong customer and commercial skills with Operations & Technology Management. She has been a part of senior leadership teams over many years in India and the UK and has worked across functions and geographies. She holds a degree in Business Management in Finance and Marketing from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore. Ms. Krishnan is engaged with and contributes to industry forums like Nasscom, Diversity & Inclusion forums. In addition to being a full time Director on the board of Barclays Shared Services India, she is an independent Director of Take Solutions Limited and Chennai Metro Rail. Ms. Uma Krishnan is a strong champion of diversity and supports initiatives to develop women in leadership.


Uma Talreja, Director Strategy, Raymond Ltd

Uma Talreja recently joined Raymond Ltd as the Head of Strategy for the lifestyle business. She also leads customer centricity initiatives for Raymond as a part of her role and is also responsible for digital transformation and e-commerce and CRM

Her passion lies in unearthing strategic customer insights and using those across functions to create sharp and relevant programs for customers. She has also managed and grown loyalty programs at each of the businesses to contribute to a large portion of the business.

As is a passionate retail and digital marketing enthusiast, she has led marketing for leading retail brands in India including Shopper’s Stop, Westside from the Tata Group and retail formats from the Aditya Birla Group, and was responsible for the launch of Burger King in India


Umang Agarwal, Principal, Eight Roads Ventures


Umang Papneja, President & Chief Investment Officer, IIFL Wealth Management Ltd.

Umang is President and Chief Investment Officer at IIFL Private Wealth. He has more than 15 years of industry experience across multiple asset classes, with his core strengths being equity research, fund selection and asset allocation. Umang is part of the Executive Committee and provides strategic guidance on asset allocation with a focus on continuous product innovation. He is also responsible for deal sourcing, client interaction, 3rd party product manufacturer relationship management and continuous support to the sales team.

Umang started his career with Motilal Oswal Securities Ltd. on the institutional sales desk, followed by HSBC in their wealth management unit and HDFC Bank where he was the Head of Equity Research in their private banking group. He was a Director and Head of Investments at Societe Generale before joining IIFL Private Wealth. Umang is an electronics engineer and holds a post graduate diploma in Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute, Mumbai.


Umang Vohra, Managing Director & Global CEO, Cipla

Umang Vohra has been Managing Director and Global Chief Executive Officer (MD & GCEO) of Cipla since September 2016. Umang joined Cipla in October 2015 as its Global Chief Financial Officer, and from January 2016 to August 2016 was Cipla’s Global Chief Operating Officer.

After gaining degrees in engineering, marketing and finance, Umang was associated with companies such as Eicher Motors and PepsiCo. Prior to joining Cipla, Umang was Head of the North America business for Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. Through his previous roles in India and the USA, he has built a distinguished career spanning almost two decades with deep understanding and experience in various aspects of the global pharmaceutical business.

Under Umang’s leadership, Cipla has built strong momentum in its home markets, augmented its capability, strengthened its core, and shown significant improvement in its operating margin and profitability. At the helm of the Management Council of Cipla, Umang’s big-picture agenda is to define and execute Cipla’s strategic growth roadmap and geographical footprint, identify the next levers of growth, invest in innovation for the future, and build the right organisation. Umesh Malhotra, Co-founder and Chief Executive, Hippocampus

Umesh and Hippocampus have been actively involved in many social innovations in education.

Hippocampus currently operates more than 250 low cost pre-schools and 2 private schools in Rural India. Hippocampus’s framework for making libraries work for first generation learners has been adopted in more than 10 states and a few countries in India. Hippocampus was India’s first sustainable children’s library and has been in operation for more than 12 years.

Umesh was selected an Ashoka Fellow in 2008 as recognition of the work done by him and Hippocampus towards promoting reading. He was selected an Ashoka Globalizer in 2011. Umesh Malhotra founded Bangalore Labs, India's first IT infrastructure management firm. He started his career with Infosys Technologies and is a graduate of IIT-Madras. He loves dogs, trekking and the beach.


Umesh Revankar, MD & CEO, Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited

Mr. Umesh Govind Revankar holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Mangalore University and MBA in Finance. He has attended Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Mr. Revankar started his career with Shriram Group as an Executive Trainee in the year 1987.He is with Shriram group for the last 33 years and possesses extensive experience in the financial services industry.

During his stint with the Shriram Group, he has shouldered various responsibilities and worked in several key roles of business operations.


Umesh Sachdev, Co-founder and CEO, Uniphore Software Systems

Umesh Sachdev, CEO is the Co-founder and CEO of Uniphore Software Systems. Prior to Uniphore, Umesh co-founded Singularis Technologies, whose Mobile Theft Security product received global recognition. In 2009, Umesh was identified as an innovative entrepreneur by the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Technopreneur Promotion Programme (TePP). He has authored various papers and developed several patent applications involving Speech Recognition and Speech Biometrics. He was also part of the organizing team at Proto.in, India’s first and largest showcase event that strengthens the startup ecosystem.

Upal Basu, MD, Nokia Growth Partners

Upal brings more 18 years of technology and telecom experience both as an entrepreneur and strategy consultant. As Founder and CEO of Mformation Technologies, Upal helped establish the company as the leading Mobile Device Management software provider.

Prior to mFormation, he was a strategic management consultant for McKinsey & Company in New York and London where he advised clients on major acquisitions, new market entry strategies, and the creation of new businesses. Prior to joining McKinsey, Upal led Product Management activities for Risk Management Solutions (RMS), a leading provider of software technologies for the management of insurance risks. Upal has an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MS in Engineering from Stanford University, and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Imperial College, London. Upal is based in India.
