Vivek Desai, Founder & Managing Director, Hosmac India Pvt Ltd | @HosmacIndia

Dr. Desai is the Founder Director of HOSMAC India, is a renowned name in Hospital Planning & Management field in India and abroad. In his consultancy career spanning more than a decade, Dr. Desai has advised more than 500 hospital projects in areas of feasibility studies, market research, hospital planning and management consultancy in India and abroad. He is a visiting faculty to premier institutions like Tata Institute of Social Science, IHMR Jaipur, IIT Mumbai, Welingkar School for Management, All India Institute of Local Self Government, etc. Apart from this, he has worked as an Advisor to numerous multilateral agencies like the World Bank, UNICEF, WHO, IL&FS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare etc.

For his accomplishments, he was selected as ‘Leader of Tomorrow’ by ET NOW business news channel in the Healthcare and Bio-Technology category in the year 2011. He has been invited on prestigious industry forums like FICCI, Indian Merchant Chambers and CII as a special invitee to chart out various policy guidelines for growth of the healthcare industry in India.

Vivek Gambhir, Chief Strategy Officer, Godrej Industries

Vivek Gambhir is the Chief Strategy Officer of Godrej Industries.

Vivek joined Godrej Industries in 2009. He is responsible for enhancing the strategic capabilities within the group companies, guiding overall group strategy, conducting portfolio analysis, advising mergers and acquisitions and leading special projects.

Prior to joining the Godrej Group, Vivek was a partner at Bain & Company, a global management consulting firm. He has worked with Bain in Boston, Singapore and New Delhi. He is a founding member of Bain’s consulting operations in India. Vivek led the Consumer Goods and the Technology, Telecommunications & Media Practices in India. He also oversaw the Organizational Capability area for Bain in India.

Vivek has a MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS (Computer Science) and BA (Economics) from Lafayette College.

Vivek has written numerous columns for the Economic Times and Mint on a variety of issues such as organizational transformation, innovation, brand profitability and salesforce effectiveness. He was nominated by Business Today as one of India’s hottest young executives in 2009.

Along with his wife and two children, Vivek loves to travel to off-beat places. During weekends, Vivek enjoys playing tennis, cooking with his kids, eating at dhabas, and watching films.

Vivek Gutpa, Partner, BMR Advisors

Vivek Gupta is a Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice at BMR Advisors, a professional services organization offering a wide range of services in M&A, Tax and Risk Advisory services.

Vivek has over 15 years experience in advising a number of domestic and multinational companies on complex transactions involving mergers, acquisitions, divestments and other business re-organizations. Vivek heads the Private Equity practice for the Education Sector at BMR. In addition to education, he has also been involved in transactions in the Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) space.

He is an acknowledged expert in strategic, financial and commercial areas, and has been named as a leading advisor on M&A transactions in India in recent years. Vivek is regularly tapped by the media for his opinion on industry forecasts, trends and analysis.

Prior to joining BMR, Vivek has worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions practice of Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the Delhi University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Vivek has close to two decades of experience across financial services in the GRC space. He has worked with some of the leading Banks across the globe.

He has led multiple engagements for internal audit quality assurance reviews for banks such as RBL bank,CitiBank and also other non-banking entities. He has also led internal audit transformation engagements for large banks in India, Bangladesh and Middle East. Given his extensive experience on similar engagements, Vivek brings in key benchmarking inputs to assist in strengthening governance, process and control from an internal audit framework standpoint.

He has also authored multiple research papers and additionally works back with the regulators on various matters of industry importance.

Vivek Jain, COO, MXPlayer

Vivek currently has two roles:

1. He is the COO for MX Player. He oversees Revenue, Product, Technology, Design, Operation, Content Programming and Internal Marketing functions at MX Player.
2. He runs the Times Prime Business at Times Internet and is responsible for the overall subscription revenue.

Prior to this, he worked in the United States for 14 years in Google and Amazon among others. He returned to India to join Reliance Jio as the Vice President for Digital Media.

Vivek is also currently mentoring and advising a few digital product tech start-ups in the domestic circuit. He is seen as a thought leader in the digital ecosystem and also takes guest lectures, seminars and workshops at IIM-Ahmedabad & ISB as a visiting faculty.

Vivek’s core competency is to bridge the gap between technology and business. He is passionate about merging consumer experiences with technology and media to build real-life businesses. Vivek is an experienced executive with proven success helping large MNCs as well as start-ups define product vision, strategy and roadmap.

Vivek K. Chandy, Partner, J. Sagar Associates (JSA)

Vivek specialises in the areas of Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Commercial work and currently chairs the Private Equity Practice of J. Sagar Associates.

He has worked extensively in the Hospitality, Healthcare, Biotechnology, Manufacturing, Software and Entertainment industries, advising on a wide range of issues from acquisitions to structuring transactions.

Vivek’s recent high profile transactions include representing two sovereign wealth funds in their investments into the Healthcare and Real Estate sectors and a global leader in the e-commerce space, in their strategic investment in an Indian company which operates the fastest growing marketplace model website in India.

Vivek Kant, Partner, BCG X

Vivek is a Partner & VP – Engineering with BCG X.AI&S. He has been a technology leader for over 24 years, with experience in Technology Consulting, Architecture & Software Delivery. He successfully lead assignments ranging from digital transformation, digital ventures to technology modernization. His last 14 years has been in financial services domain and built platforms in Retail banking, Consumer lending, Payments & Capital Markets. He has worked across Europe & Asia Pacific with extensive work in implementing digital platforms in Indian financial services. His last role was CTO - Bajaj Finserv Markets. Previous to Bajaj Finserv, Vivek used to lead the BFS Technology Practice for Cognizant Technology Solutions in APAC region.

Vivek Karve, Chief Financial Officer, Marico Limited

Vivek is a Chartered Accountant (1994), a Cost Accountant (1993) and a B. Com.  from the University of Bombay (1991). He has more than 25 years of experience in Finance, Banking, and IT across four organizations - Marico, Siemens Information Systems, ICICI and P&G.

Vivek’s current role as Group CFO of Marico covers Corporate Finance, Secretarial, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Business Finance and Commercial for Marico Group. He also leads Marico’s M&A initiatives.

Vivek joined Marico in 2000, as a Manager in Corporate Finance. Over the years, he has contributed to various sections in Marico Finance, including business finance. He has played an active role in Marico's M&A efforts through due diligence, funding etc. He was also project lead for an initiative towards automating the performance forecasting and budgeting processes in the company. Vivek took over the charge as CFO of Marico Limited effective 1St April 2014.

Vivek has served as a member of FICCI's Corporate Finance Committee. He is currently a member of FICCI’s CFO Conclave.
