Sanjeeva Shivesh, Founder & CEO, The Entrepreneurship School

A former civil servant, he quit civil service in 10 years to join Booz Allen Hamilton, London as an Expert for Public Private Partnerships. Subsequently, he joined a PE Fund - FIRE Capital Fund as Executive Director (Investments) 

In 2009, Sanjeeva took entrepreneurial plunge to start Smart Wave Education, Smart Wave Consulting, in addition to LMR Connect for providing outsourced engineering maintenance services. In 2013, Sanjeeva started The Entrepreneurship School where he nurtures people who want to become Entrepreneur.  He actively nurtures and mentors budding entrepreneurs in their quest for idea and handholding them to through various stage of launching their ideas into high performing enterprises. Some of his protégés have successfully launched their enterprises in the recent years.

An avid researcher and consultant in areas of innovation, entrepreneurship and infrastructure development, Sanjeeva has been consultant to diverse set of organizations. His teaching and research interests are in the areas of entrepreneurship quotient, entrepreneurial teams, commercializing innovation, design thinking and product prototyping. His passion for academics has kept him actively engaged in teaching course (s) on entrepreneurship, innovation and strategy in institutions like MDI, Gurgaon and FMS, Delhi University in addition to being the Member of Entrepreneurship Skills Council set up by Government of India. 

Sanjeeva is a B. Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and MBA from Cranfield School of Management, U.K.


Sanjib Jha, CEO, IntelleGrow

Sanjib is the CEO & Director of Mumbai-based IntelleGrow, a venture debt financing company for small and medium growing enterprises.

Prior to joining as the CEO of IntelleGrow in 2012, Sanjib led the corporate affairs and finance functions for Intellecap and its group companies. He worked closely with the Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer, and the Boards of Intellecap and its group companies strategizing and executing the next steps in the growth of Intellecap. He also served as an internal advisor to Intellecap's subsidiary companies. He conceived, conceptualised and lead the acquisition of Arohan by IntelleCash (first major acquisition in the Indian Micro finance Industry).

He has over 14 years of experience in business planning, mergers and acquisitions, transaction structuring, negotiation, execution, deal closure and portfolio management, management information systems, financial accounting, relationship management with institutional investors, venture capital funds, and key partners.

In the past, He was among the initial founding team member at ATS Services, a domestic BPO, and later joined Actis, where he concentrated on transactions and facilitated exits through public markets in the financial services, FMCG, pharmaceutical and automotive sectors. After Actis, Sanjib played a role in setting up Lok Capital in India. At Lok, he was also responsible for investments with major Indian MFIs. Sanjib is a qualified Company Secretary. He serves on the boards of Intellecap Software Technologies, Arohan, IntelleCash and IntelleGrow.


Sanjith S Shetty, Vice Chairman & MD, Soham Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Sanjith Shetty, Vice Chairman of the company, heads the day to day operations of the company. An Industrial Engineer, he graduated as Class Valedictorian from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University – a Top 10 Business School in America and is an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard University. A serial entrepreneur, he has headed ventures including manufacturing of Alcoholic Beverages, Energy conservation systems, IT Education, E-validation Services, etc.

He is actively associated with several Business Owner Organisations such as The Young Presidents Organisation (YPO), and Entrepreneurs Organisation (EO). Both are worldwide peer to peer networks of over 20,000 CEOs. Sanjith helped start the EO Bangalore Chapter and has served as its Past President as well as Area Director of all India chapters.

He has been serving the YPO Bangalore Chapter Board as its Finance Chair for the past 2 years. Upon invitation he currently serves on the India Alumni Advisory Board for Duke MBA as well as, in its Global Alumni Council.


Sanjiv Aggarwal, Partner, Energy, Actis

Sanjiv joined Actis’ Asia team in 2008 and is responsible for Actis’ energy industry activities in Asia. Prior to joining Actis, Sanjiv was at Citigroup for eight years, where he worked extensively in the Indian infrastructure sector, culminating as Head of Power, Energy, Chemicals, Mining and Transportation for India. Prior to Citigroup, Sanjiv worked at ANZ Investment Bank for nine years, where he headed the project finance team for urban infrastructure and oil and gas and was Head of Eastern India.

Sanjiv holds a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian School of Mines and a MBA from the Xavier Labour Relations Institute.


Sanjiv Kapur, MD, Wolfensohn India Advisors Private Limited

Mr. Kapur currently serves as the Managing Director in Asia for Wolfensohn & Company, a private investment firm focused on private equity in emerging markets.

From 2002 to 2005, Mr. Kapur was Senior Partner and Head, Asia Pacific Private Equity for Henderson Private Capital in Singapore. In this capacity, Mr. Kapur managed a successful $210mn Asian private equity fund that invested in China, India, Korea, Singapore and Thailand. He served as a Director/Observer on the Boards of HT Media (India), Maginet (Singapore), Jubilant Organosys (India), and Airmate (China).

From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Kapur was the Chief Investment Officer, Private Capital for AMP Henderson Global Investors in Sydney, Australia where he established the successful India infrastructure fund jointly with UTI that invested in ports, telecom, and gas distribution. He has served on the Investment Committees of several private equity funds including Capital Z Asia II, AXA-AIG Select Global Fund of Funds I and Asia Equity Infrastructure Fund. He also headed the $235 mn Henderson Global Fund of Funds investing in US, Europe and Asia.

From 1989 to 1999, Mr. Kapur held various investment positions at the IFC in Washington including Head of Private Equity and Head, International Securities Group, and invested in companies and funds across Asia, Latin America, Central Europe and Africa. He served on the Boards of Handlowy Heller (Poland) and CIC (Chile).

From 1986 to 1989, Mr. Kapur worked in New York at the HSBC Group (Vice President, Sovereign Risk Management) and also at AIG (1982-86). From 1981-82, he was at State Bank of India in New York. Mr. Kapur has a B.A. in Economics (Honours) from St. Stephen’s College (Delhi University) and an M.B.A. with Distinction from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird). He was elected to the Executive Committee of the Singapore Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (2003-05).


Sanjiv Singhal, MD, BanyanTree Capital

Sanjiv Singhal is the Managing Director. Previously, Sanjiv was working with Standard Chartered Bank where he headed Structured Finance for India and later, SE Asia out of Singapore. When he headed the Indian business, Sanjiv was involved in a number of complex financings for companies in a special situation with total deal value of more than USD 500 million. Sanjiv has spent 13 years in banking (firstly with Citibank and later with SCB) and brings a good credit judgment apart from an extensive network of client contacts. He spent the first three years of his working life as an entrepreneur wherein he took over an ailing automobile components manufacturing company and turned it around.

He holds a MBA from the Wharton Business School (USA), a MA with distinction from the University of Essex, UK and a BA with honours from Delhi University.

In 2001, Sanjiv was selected by the British Council for a Chevening Scholarship to spend 10 weeks at the London School of Economics, during which time he authored a book, “Internet Banking: The second wave”. This book was published by McGraw-Hill and is in its second reprint.

Sankalp Agarwal, CEO, TravelTriangle

A technology maven with entrepreneurship in his Marwari blood, Sankalp Agarwal is the Co-founder and CEO of TravelTriangle, India’s first full-stack holiday marketplace. He believes every difficult problem has a simple solution and you just have to be innovative enough to find it. At TravelTriangle, he leads the company vision and is intrinsically involved in fundraising, business growth & creating a Sankalp has completed his B.Tech as well as M.Tech in Computer Science from the prestigious IIT Kharagpur. He held a highly lucrative post at Adobe before his own entrepreneurial venture with TravelTriangle.  Sankalp has even etched his name in the record books. He, along with 17 other team members, are mentioned in the Limca Book of Records for solving the World’s Largest Jigsaw puzzle. Striving for excellence in every aspect of his life is Sankalp’s sole mantra. His spirit and dedication is also demonstrated by his academic and extracurricular achievements.

A state topper in Class 10 Boards from Rajasthan, he has designed his own LINUX user interface like KDE, while in college. His innovative nature led him to tackle several technological gaps in his day to day life such as an automated birthday wisher on Facebook to avoid the wrath of his huge friend network, Dictionary Bot in Google Talk to understand the English vocabulary better while chatting with friends & an Expense Manager to make monthly expenditure reports for his mom. Besides his interests in reading and watching movies, Sankalp has backpacked with friends to several off-beat destinations in India and abroad. He is also an accomplished sports person who won Gold Medals in Hockey during his college days. As an avid traveler himself, Sankalp aims to make the entire travel experience simply amazing for customers.


Sankar Chakraborti, Head - CRISIL Ratings, CRISIL Ltd.

Sankar heads the Business Development function for CRISIL Bank Loan Ratings. He has set up a large team of more than 120 relationship managers spread across 65 cities across the country. His team is credited with taking the concept of Bank Loan Rating to the farthest corner of the country and bringing unprecedented number of corporates including large number of SMEs under the rated universe.
Before CRISIL Ratings, Sankar has been with CRISIL Research since year 2000 and helped expand the research business of CRISIL, which today is India’s largest independent research house. During his tenure with CRISIL Research, Sankar has closely worked with credit analysis and risk management teams of banks in India.

Sankar was also deputed to Standard & Poor’s, Tokyo in 2006-2007 from CRISIL. During his stint in Tokyo he has interacted and worked with investors and bankers across the Asia Pacific region who looked at India for investment opportunity.
Before CRISIL, Sankar has worked with leading information and research services companies in India since the early days of this industry.


Sankaran Naren, CIO, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund

Over the last 9 years with ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, S Naren has managed flagship schemes like Infrastructure Fund, Discovery Plan and Tax Plan. In his current role, he is CIO - Equity and Fixed Income. He is also fund manager of Dynamic and Top 100 Fund.

He has 24 years of experience in broking, project finance, investment banking and fund management.

He holds a B-Tech degree from IIT Madras and PGDM from IIM Kolkata.

Recently he won the Business Standard Best Fund Manager Award - Equity. The products managed by S Naren have won many accolades in the past from both domestic and international agencies of repute.
