Prashant Purker, Managing Director & CEO and Co-head, Private Equity, ICICI Venture Funds Management Co. Ltd.

Purker is the Managing Director & CEO of ICICI Venture Funds Management Company Limited (ICICI Venture) which is one of India’s oldest, largest and most diversified alternative asset managers with a historical AUM since 2002 of over USD 4.25 billion across four verticals: Private Equity, Real Estate, Special Situations (in a strategic alliance with Apollo Global Management, US) and Infrastructure. ICICI Venture is a wholly owned subsidiary of ICICI Bank Limited which is the largest non-government bank in India with total assets of USD 157 billion as at March 31, 2017 on a standalone basis and which is also the parent company of the largest financial conglomerate in the Indian private sector with a market leading presence in life insurance, general insurance, mutual fund asset management, capital markets, investment banking, etc. ICICI Bank is listed on the NYSE and major Indian stock exchanges.

Purker has over 29 years of experience in financial markets. He has a deep and varied experience in Indian capital markets, across both equity (including listed as well as unlisted equities) and debt capital products. Purker chairs the Investment Committees of the funds managed/advised by the Company. He also co-heads the Private Equity vertical of ICICI Venture and has played a key role in the creation of ICICI Venture’s high quality portfolio of PE investments over the past 9 years and the strong exits performance of ICICI Venture’s PE funds during this period.

Prior to joining ICICI Venture in 2009, he worked at Nomura India and Lehman Brothers India as the Managing Director & Head – Global Finance for India in the Investment Banking Division. Prior to that he spent over 5 years with ICICI Bank, where his last role was Senior General Manager and Head – Global Principal Investment & Trading Group. He has previously also worked with institutions such as Citibank, Peregrine and BNP. Purker has a Bachelors degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad where he was also a rank holder.

Mr. Purker has over 28 years of experience in financial markets. He has a deep and varied experience in Indian capital markets, across both equity (including listed as well as unlisted equities) and debt capital products.

He joined ICICI Venture in August 2009 and has been a member of the leadership team at ICICI Venture since then. He has served on the Board of Directors of ICICI Venture since 2010 initially as an Executive Director and since December 2015, as the Managing Director and CEO of the company. In this capacity, he chairs the Investment Committees of various funds managed by the Company. He co-heads the Private Equity practice of ICICI Venture and chairs the Investment Committees of all the PE funds managed or advised by the company. He has played a key role in the strong exits performance of ICICI Venture’s PE practice over the past 7 years as well as the creation of the high quality portfolio of PE investments made by the company during this period.

Prashant is a veteran with wide domain expertise built over 25 years in healthcare IT. He has provided technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of an integrated & automated healthcare system. In addition, he has been instrumental in installing ICT setup in various corporate hospitals. In his previous role, Prashant was CIO at Radiant Life Care, which is into redeveloping, developing, managing and operating healthcare facilities. During this tenure, he led various automation projects like Cost Accounting, Mobile Applications for Doctors and Patients, Food and Beverage workflow management, Blood Bank automation, Seamless workflow from Doctor Appointment to Queue Management, and Digitization of OP Prescription.

Singh is a graduate from Delhi University, and also holds a master’s degree in IT from Karnataka University and a Management program on Healthcare Data Analytics from IIM Ahmedabad.

Prashant Tandon, Founder & CEO, 1mg

Prashant is the Founder & CEO of 1MG, India's #1 m-Health application. With over 3 M downloads, and ~5 M monthly visits on the platform, 1MG is the favorite app for health consumers across the country.

Prashant was born and raised in New Delhi. He is an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and graduate from Indian Institute of Technology - Delhi (IIT-D). Prior to 1mg, Prashant was the co-founder & managing director of HealthKart, which he started in 2011 and took it to the position of India's #1 Nutrition eCommerce company. Till 2009, before he returned to India, Prashant worked at McKinsey & Company in San Francisco where he focused primarily on Healthcare. He started his career with the Business Leadership program at Hindustan Unilever India, where he worked in pan Asia roles for Innovation development and operations.

Prashant returned to India in 2010 to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities in the burgeoning healthcare technology space, where he then co-founded HealthKart, before setting up 1mg earlier this year.

Prashanth is a Senior WW Product Manager at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, managing a portfolio of NonStop OS, Virtualization and Security. In his role Prashanth owns the strategy, roadmap, customer satisfaction and ecosystem enablement for the portfolio. He has done post graduate diploma in software enterprise management from IIM Bangalore and has a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication from NIT Surathkal. Prashanth is with HPE for 11 years and has prior experience in communication software engineering.
