Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-founder Infosys, Chairman Axilor Ventures, Chairman CII Council on Start-ups

Mr Senapathy “Kris” Gopalakrishnan served as the Vice-Chairman of Infosys from 2011 to 2014 and the chief executive officer and managing director of Infosys from 2007 to 2011. Kris is one of the co-founders of Infosys.

Recognized as a global business and technology thought leader, he was voted the top CEO (IT Services category) in Institutional Investor's inaugural ranking of Asia's Top Executives and selected as one of the winners of the second Asian Corporate Director Recognition Awards by Corporate Governance Asia in 2011. He also was selected to Thinkers 50, an elite list of global business thinkers, in 2009. He was elected president of India's apex industry chamber Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for 2013-14, and served as one of the co-chairs of the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2014.

In January 2011, the Government of India awarded Mr. Gopalakrishnan the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian honour.

Mr Gopalakrishnan serves on the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, is the Chairman for the Board of Governors of IIIT- Bangalore, and is on the Board of Trustees of Chennai Mathematical Institute.

With his extensive experience of African and Indian markets and customer interface across the globe he has played an instrumental role in formulating innovative strategies to gain competitive advantages through green field projects like building Packaged Food Business from scratch in West Africa for Olam International as well as through Merger & Acquisition route as in case of Spices business.

Currently working as Head Production Planning Vertical, with responsibility for Domains like Body, Paint, Car Assembly, Engine Assembly & Machining, Plant Engineering, Digitization and Industry 4.0, Controlling and Project Management.

Deeply involved in building Plant Strategy, developing Future Factory & Digitization  roadmap, Strategic inputs for upcoming Products for Indian Plant. Significant contributions for rolling out new initiatives like Innovation, Capital invest reduction & technology localization, Technology and Supplier day etc. Implemented digitization in planning department. Krishna Jha, Investor, IAN

In the year 1999, Krishna Jha, then 25, quit his programmer job with Citicorp to co-found ITFinity, one of the first wireless data companies globally. The call was on the adoption of the phone from then expensive talking device to an extended Internet and data screen. Joining as angel investors were folks like Rajat Gupta from McKinsey, Ashish Dhawan from Chryscap, Naren Gupta from Windriver-Nexus etc.

ITFinity went on to create significant innovations in telecom software and consumer services space, with a customer list comprising of top-most telcos and device-manufacturers. The company was highly profitable and ranked among Deloitte Fast 500 tech companies for three years in running.

In early 2007 the company was acquired by OnMobile, the telecom spin-off from Infosys, providing a 10x returns to ITFinity's angel investors.

Krishna now runs TelNet Ventures which is an investor & co-founder to very early stage Mobile & Internet startups in India.
