VCCircle India Angel Summit 2011: 2nd Edition
After the first successful edition, VCCircle is happy to announce the second edition of VCCircle India Angel Summit 2011, aimed at fostering India’s angel and early-stage VC investment market while creating an exclusive platform to facilitate investments in the most attractive business ideas.
India’s angel investment market has achieved a few significant feats with successful returns made by early investors, some of the deals being spurred through various angel networks spread across the country and the rest being led by high net worth individuals and successful entrepreneurs. These deals have been primarily in Internet retail, IT consulting, application software, education, electronic components and healthcare services/technologies segments, among others.
Although the challenges remain in terms of identifying scalable business models, finding the right teams and unanimity on appropriate valuation, a rise in the number of angel investors from diverse backgrounds, coupled with an increase in early-stage VCs and the subsequent awareness among professionals and entrepreneurs, has provided this market segment with enough depth and vibrancy to create exciting investment opportunities.
