Introduction

There is an increasing reliance on internet platforms, SaaS and software across every dimension of our digital lives which also exposes us to digital vulnerabilities. In this complex information landscape, one of biggest underlying challenges of leaders is how to establish a trusted environment in ever expanding organisation and workforce perimeter commonly now known as “work and consume from anywhere”.

In the Q2 of 2020 alone, McAfee’s global network of more than a billion sensors registered a 605% increase in total COVID-19-themed threat detections. Therefore the future of trust as a service is not only about managing and preventing from cyber threats but also about the right technology and automation being in place to enable appropriate actions and identity management, privilege management to drive a secured digital scale.

The future lies in trust as a service, which for us is now driven by intelligent security automation. Its not only the tools but also the intelligence around it which can help organisations not only prevention but also response management.

TechCircle is organizing - Future of Trust – Trust as a Service - a digital summit that will bring together industry experts and torchbearers to deliberate on the future of cybersecurity, its implementation, challenges and solutions, thus carving a roadmap for the future.

Keynote 1: The Future Security Architecture

Prior to covid, online business interactions were as least as common as in-person interactions. Since the outbreak, they have become the norm. As companies prepare for post pandemic operations, many business leaders are thinking about the shape of the “new normal.” Hence building security into just business products and process would be a myopic approach. It has to be driven by the quality of the online customer experience more than ever.

  • 4:45 PM – 5:15 PM

Panel Discussion 1: Cloud & Security - Making 2 ends meet

“Cloud First” does not mean “Cloud Always.” For some organizations, the long-term goal may be to move all applications out of their data centers. For others, cloud-first may mean moving a subset of applications to the public cloud. The key is to extend beyond the purview of the IT organization. It must be understood and embraced by the whole organization. To manage a cohesive hybrid, multicloud security program, you need to establish visibility and control. One needs to understand the future state of businesses and risk-based security program, establishing cloud security at every layer of the stack to enable your business goals.

  • 5:15 PM – 5:35 PM

Keynote 2: Trust and AI - An ever evolving secure network

AI can efficiently analyse user behaviours, deduce a pattern, and identify all sorts of abnormalities or irregularities in the network. With such data, it’s much easier to identify cyber vulnerabilities quickly. Contrarily, it also puts larger demands on access to more data and raise data privacy concerns. Several organizations are rushing into getting their machine-learning-based products out in the market. With this behaviour, they might overlook the algorithms are creating a false sense of security. While cybersecurity experts have accepted AI as the future of the industry, finding solutions to its problems are still not adequately addressed. An underdeveloped software is worst then the less-effective but fully developed one. AI needs to build the trust in the systems. And the first pillar towards building that trust is whether it is safe?

    Rishi Mehra
    , CEO, Wishfin

  • 5:35 PM – 5:55 PM

Fireside Chat: Internet of Threats - IoT

Securing IoT devices is a challenge in itself for a number of reasons. As pressure is put on manufacturers and innovators to roll out new products, security is often given a lower priority than time-to-market metrics. Many businesses are also unaware of the vulnerabilities that IoT presents, and are often more focused on the cost savings and convenience that IoT has to offer. Further with 5G at the horizon, edge computing is slated to give a full throttle impetus to IoT. Edge computing brings computing workloads and data storage back to internet-enabled local devices. In this panel we shall deliberate on the trends, challenges, and solutions around IoT Cybersecurity. Edge computing expands the potential attack surface by having sensitive data stored and processed across a more extensive array of systems.

  • 5:55 PM – 6:15 PM

Panel 2: Digital Secure Workspace - Defending beyond borders

In response to the coronavirus outbreak and to lockdown measures, companies around the globe have moved to remote work and shifted their operations online. These moves can also create new openings for cyberattacks. Leaders are balancing business continuity and the speed at which they must adapt to digital solutions against the need to protect their organization, people, and customers. This has redrawn the boundaries of cyber security. Instead of ‘perimeter security’, the chief information security officers (CISOs) are now having to focus on ‘borderless security’ as organizations shift to remote working and distributed digital assets.
