UBER

Uber’s mission is to bring reliable transportation to everyone, everywhere. We started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get a ride at the touch of a button? Over six years and more than two billion trips later, we’ve started tackling an even greater challenge: reducing congestion and pollution in our cities by getting more people into fewer cars. The mobile application is currently operational in over 450+ cities and 70+ countries, where it facilitates safe, reliable, and affordable transportation while generating a meaningful livelihood opportunity for hundreds of thousands of independent driver-partners registered on its platform.

Over the last three years in India, Uber has made reliable and affordable mobility options available in 29 cities across the country while creating hundreds of thousands micro-entrepreneurship opportunities for driver-partners. Uber has committed itself to extend the opportunity to earn a livelihood with dignity to 1 million individuals across the country, over the next 2 years. To realise this vision, Uber has partnered with several institutions such as the National Skill Development Corporation, the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation, Maharashtra Skill Development Ministry etc.
